Melissa was a fantastic host who is very proactive & responsive.

The accommodation was well presented, clean & well equipped. A perfect place to relax & take it easy, in a secluded spot with easy access to Launceston and beyond.

A lovely little place.

I was by myself but great for a couple too. It's small but well equipped with a great shower and comfy bed. Melissa is a great host, and I had a bottle of wine and some scones on arrival! I know the area very well and Palmers Lodge is in an ideal location for days out to the many beaches, coves, villages and attractions in the area. Highly recommended!

Lovely shower. Everything you need supplied even tea coffee etc and the cream tea and orange juice on arrival was really nice touch

Right in the heart of Devon/Cornwall only a short drive Launceston which has everything you need before setting out further afield. Melissa is a fantastic host, very attentive without being intrusive. Loved my stay and will definitely be returning.

Palmers Lodge was ideal for us.

We needed a base for visiting a few different locations in Cornwall and Egloskerry was a good location. Melissa was a great host, making everything easy. The lodge is very comfortable and we had everything we needed.

The property was very clean and very well equipped. My husband, my one year old and I had a wonderful week and the location was great for visiting both the south and north of Cornwall. It had a beautiful outlook on to fields and the welcome cream tea was a lovely gesture.

The perfect place for me to stay as I wanted to have some time to unwind and think - and the view was lovely from the garden.

It was also well situated for several lovely towns and places of interest and some walks that I didn't have time for - I so wish I had been able to stay for two weeks instead of one. The cream tea on arrival was very welcome.

Second time at Palmer's lodge - first for our honeymoon, second for our first anniversary - so it must be good!

Facilities are top notch, so compact but exactly what you need, offroad parking, very friendly and helpful host. Cannot recommend it enough - will be back in the future for sure!

Everything you need is in the lodge and so peaceful and quiet .even had cream tea flowers and wine for us when we arrived .Definitely stay again

We had a wonderful stay.

Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Might suggest a clothes airer for wet weather to dry any washing. It was great to be provided with washing up liquid etc. The out door seating area was a great bonus and the views were lovely. Will definitely return.

Came here for my honeymoon.

Absolutely perfect for two people. The owner was super friendly and accommodating - she left us out a cream tea with some champagne as it was a special occasion! The location is excellent, and we were able to get all around Cornwall very easily. Inside it was compact, modern, and incredibly comfortable - a perfect place to come back to if it had been raining or windy. Will definitely be coming back again in the future. PS: it does have wifi!

Melissa, goes above and Beyond Board to make sure your stay is a pleasurable one. I simply couldn't praise this place enough. One thing I would suggest is to take a table fan it renting in during the summer season.

Cottage was a lovely little find, immaculate and high standards of cleanliness throughout with all amenities you need.

Lovely little private garden with bbq, ideal for sunny days, could of done with some shelter for when it rained. Lovely cream tea and wine on arrival. Central to all areas worth visiting Highly recommend anyone to stay here

Cottage felt larger than expected, well stocked, and has a nice bathroom.

View across valley from garden table at rear, flowers and baskets, gave pleasant ambiance. Enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Nice and comfortable place to stay and a good base for visiting the coast

This cottage was in a great location - central to all things to do in Cornwall as well as quiet if that’s what you want.

The place was immaculate and had everything that you need. The wine and cream tea and soap was a lovely touch.

The little cottage is well equipped and a great base for travelling around Cornwall.

The hosts are great, and there are little touches such as a cream tea, wine and flowers. There are great views at the rear of the property and we enjoyed sitting out, having breakfast as it's very peaceful. The Lodge is decorated to a high standard with a nice bathroom and good shower. There wasn't a lot of places to eat in April as lock down restrictions were gradually lifting. Most nights, we had a takeaway or cooked a meal. The kitchen again is well equipped for this however, we couldn't work out how to use the microwave. Cornwall is a truely beautiful part of the country and highlights were the characterful fishing villages such as Polperro, Padstow and Magavissey. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend this place as a great little hideaway.

The location of Palmers Lodge was perfect for us to explore the North and South coast of Cornwall and the fantastic scenery in the area.

Everything was as described and many more that wasn't mentioned.

The owner's care and consideration was way above our expectations. All in all highly recommended.

A very comfortable and well presented holiday home in the countryside close to Launceston.

Suited us ideally during this year of 'Staycation' when being covid-19 safe was our priority. The owners are taking the required Covid-19 preparation requirements in a very responsible and professional manner. A special thank you to Melissa for making us very welcome and in particular for the recommendation to visit the National Trust Beach at Sandymouth.

Im afraid i cannot share the enthusiasm of previous guests.

This property was very dissapointing in comparison to other Sykes Cottages I have rented. The cottage definately needs some loving care and attention. The property looked very run down and definately didnt meet the expectations I was used to when renting with Sykes. Melissa was very kind however when we mentioned that the toilett seat was defective this remark was completely ignored. The amenities were VERY basic and the garden furniture was rusty and not very inviting. The shower was not very clean and black dirt came out of the piping. I expected more quality for the price.

Beautiful flowers, wine and a cream tea on arrival. Much appreciated after a 6 hour drive. Very clean and cosy and everything thought of even down to washing machine tablet, books and dvds and cds in the cupboard too. Brilliant

We had a lovely week with Melissa & family.

Though small the cottage offered everything we needed. Egloskerry was a very central point to see all of Cornwall in a reasonable time.

The only downside was the smell from the field behind, as the farmer was treating it.

**** Owner Response**** The farmers spread manure one day on the field behind the lodge which is out of our control and it is the first time it has happened.

I had a lovely week in this charming lodge.

Was warmly greeted by Melissa on arrival and to find a bunch of tulips, bottle of wine, Easter biscuits and milk. It was also pleasant to find, tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, hand soap and many more incidentals supplied. It is in a good location for seeing Cornwall and close to Launceston. The owners have thought of everything and I would be more than happy to book a stay here again in the future.

The location of the cottage was great to explore all of Cornwall, even into Devon if you wanted to.

I have booked with Sykes before and will do again. The cottage was great.
