    "The property was as described."

Comfortable & in a very peaceful location. My only complaint really is that the window would not open at all in the bedroom which made it a bit stuffy at night. Overall we would definitely stay there again as it was peaceful & in a good location for Lyme Regis.

Dear Martin, We're so happy that you enjoyed your stay at 10 Pinewood and are looking forward to you booking your next visit! Many thanks, Katy and family. Property Owner

"Lodge 10 ok, apart from window in bathroom falling out when tried to open."

. camp site I call Stalag 17. Did not comparie to Sunny Lyn at Lynton.

Dear Alan, Sorry you had difficulties with the bathroom window, they are designed to be removed from the hinge, but it's still a tricky thing to achieve, well done! Unlike Sunny Lyn, the Pinewood Retreat site has no camping or motorhome pitch areas, however it does have the most amazing indoor and outdoor pools. Regarding your "Stalag 17" reference I don't know the film but I know Billy Wilder is a great Director so it's on the one to watch list. Thanks for the recommendation. "We found the step up onto the veranda a bit difficult for people with mobility problems."

An extra step would be useful for the less agile guests. All other aspects of the property were most satisfactory.

Dear Michael, I shall arrange for a little extra step to be available for guests to use. That's really helpful feedback, thank you. I hope you enjoyed your stay and will visit again. Many thanks. Katy and family Property Owner

"This was a lovely lodge which suited our family (2 adults & 2 children, aged 9 & 11)."

The location was good for visiting all the local towns. The welcome pack, the milk & the information pack were great. The pool was lovely and warm and the changing rooms were a good size & clean. The only thing I would say was the windows were of an interesting make up & due to being wood we struggled to open some of them & some of the handles were loose, which was reported on our departure. Overall a lovely stay.

Dear Lisa and Family, I'm glad you did some exploring and hope you found some new family favorite places. The windows are original to the building, I guess that's how they open in Finland ( I've never been, but occasionally imagine I'm there when staying at number 10)! I will check on the handles and tighten up any wobblers... I hope you liked the new decor, awaiting the photos to be updated. Please do come and stay again, for some more adventures. Katy and Family N.B please report any problems to Lyme Bay Holidays as soon as possible so that they can be sorted out ASAP (or to me in the feedback here if it's not a biggy) and you can just focus on enjoying your holidays! 10. We were blessed with beautiful weather which no doubt made the stay even better. We enjoyed our welcome treats and found that the holiday home had everything we needed.

Dear Mike, I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at our lovely holiday hut. Please do come and stay again....It's surprizingly snug when raining and blowing a hoolie outside too ( the Finns know how to build a decent wooden cabin)! Hope you enjoy the rest of the summer... "We very much enjoyed our stay at 10 Pinewood."

The chalet was very comfortable and well equipped, set in a peaceful location. The only niggle, the wifi was intermittent. Neither of us swim, so we are unable to comment on either of the swimming pools.

Dear Bruce, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at our little bolt hole! Thanks for the update regarding the WiFi, I shall pass the info on to the site manager at Pinewood retreat who will be able to sort it out. Many thanks, Katy the owner. Property Owner

"Upon arriving at pinewood retreat we was greeted with and immaculate complex , amazing new built lodges with balconies and great facilities such as the indoor pool."

That unfortunately was where the perfect start ended . We drove round looking for our plot of perfection repeatedly passing a dilapidated old wooden loads in the corner of the park assuming it was a potting shed for the gardener or of sort . Nope it was pinewood ten. We was greeted with a seen from Im a celeb get me out of here style bush tucker trial . A mass of cob webs all over the front of the shed . Most very dusty and old so no magicaly appeared over night . Some where trapped in between the glass panes so all you could see was a Halloween hue of the immaculate site. We opened the door to 70’s themed Interior and small that can only be described as one of a nursing home for the elderly . The sofa had no cushion material left so you could feel the Lats in your backside . The lights didn’t work in the kids room to add to the Im a celeb theme. And it was just dingy and awful. Not a problem the weather was great we’ll eat outside ….. errrm no the out side table only had a 3 chairs for a 4 birth “property “ I can stress how much we would return to the site but sadly Pinewood 10 is only fit for the log pile . We was given a discount when booking this due to potential building work being carried out. The builders hare made any disturbance and again was immaculately tidy . I hate to think what the retail price was supposed to be. In short the British government wouldn’t house refugees in this “ property “ let alone charge for the privilege

Dear Charlene, I am sorry that you were so disappointed with Lodge 10 Pinewood. The retro Scandinavian look of the property is not for everyone. The photos and property details on the Lyme Bay holiday listing are accurate. I'm hoping that you enjoyed the complimentary welcome package and I'm glad that you noted the significant rental discount. The lodge had a full structural survey in 2022 which stated that the property is fit for purpose and of sound structure. It also had its regular electrical report last year. Please note that as Lodge 10 Pinewood is only legally permitted to be used as a holiday property it is not rented to the British Government or indeed to people working or wanting to remain living in the local area and therefore not taking properties out of the domestic rental market. Finally and most importantly of all.....Many thanks for your feedback, I shall address the issues that you have raised regarding the lights, windows and missing outside chair. The sofa is waiting to be delivered. As the lodge is now due its autumn overhaul after a busy summer, I will work out whether or not to enhance or pare back the 70's Cottage Core vibe. Kind regards, Katy Lodge 10 Owner Property Owner

    "No 10 was lovely!"

It’s tucked away on the end in the corner so pretty much total privacy. Tbh, I’m a bit of a clean freak and had bought my own cleaning things with me to give the place a once over but as soon as I walked in I could smell the place was clean and kept clean, as a wood cabin would soon start to smell iffy if it wasn’t cleaned properly and regularly. I had also brought some spare bedding….just incase my ‘clean issues’ had a problem with what was there but again, bedding and towels were lovely and clean and smelt fresh too and beds were comfy. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking and was clean. The living room area was comfy enough on the evening and tv worked just fine. The building work was no problem as we were out doing holiday stuff during the day. The pool was great as we pretty much had it to ourselves first thing each morning. Laundry room came in handy, that was lovely and clean too. Met a few others residents and they were all lovely and really friendly Overall we were really happy with our stay and will probably return next time we come to Devon. Thank you

"Whilst the log cabin and the experience in itself was fine, the owner needs to employ a window cleaner as both inside and outside, the windows are disgusting."

Also, a cleaner with better vision might be worth a try ie someone that can see cobwebs, they are all over; curtains, skirting boards, window frames. It looked like it hadn’t been cared for for a good few weeks.

We're sorry to hear that you felt the property didn't reach our cleanliness standards. We have passed your comments onto our housekeeping team to investigate. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"We really enjoyed our stay at Pinewood Retreat."

At times, we had the pool to ourselves. The building works weren't too much of an eye sore and there was very little disruption on that front. The chalet was well kitted out and super comfortable. Lyme Regis was delightful. A lovely stay all round. Thanks.

"The sofa and chair in the lounge was really hard and uncomfortable."

The large ‘Cleaner equipment’ bags in the wardrobe should not have been left in the property. It was annoying to have to deal with their removal whilst on holiday.

Dear Steven, Many thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the seating was uncomfortable for you. The chairs are a wee bit firmer due to older relatives coming to stay at No 10. However it may be a good idea for me to change one or other of them for a softer option! I shall talk to the cleaning team at Lyme Bay regarding the bag issue. Best wishes, Katy Property Owner

"My family & I had an amazing break in this lodge."

The lodge is quaint & is based on a quiet, secluded, very clean & looked after park. Most days we were the only four people in the amazing outdoor pool. The park is ideally located to visit the local towns, we went into Lyme Regis, Seaton, Charmouth & our favourite was Beer - all within a 5-10 minute drive from the park. We can't wait to go back & visit her!
