  • "Yard cottage is a fantastic base for exploring the local area."

It is well appointed and has everything you need for a short stay. We enjoyed the walks around the estate and appreciated the welcome pack of information and goodies. We were also very appreciative of a new kettle being dropped round within an hour of it being reported broken, that was amazing service. We would definitely book again.

  • "Lovely property on a beautiful estate."

Comfortable and cosy. Had a nice welcome package with treats. Lots of info in the visitor guide

  • "We loved our stay at Yard Cottage!"

It was beautiful accommodation and very well equipped. The welcome pack was perfect even including milk in the fridge for a nice cuppa! Worth mentioning the drainage system which only allows eco cleaning products (no bleach) so don't add anything to your shopping that you then can't use. It is a drive to the nearest shops but this is clear in the listing. If you're looking at booking a fossil hunt then do it before you go as they're very popular. We'd also recommend Beer Quarry Caves!

Really great place within this well maintained and well equipped cottage would visit again Only silly thing couldn’t find internet log in but Sykes cottages help line soon sent it through in minutes Location on estate is very well looked after with lovely views and private beach which is worth the hike

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you."

The cottage is lovely and the Rousdon estate grounds stunning in a great location close to beautiful Lyme Regis. Access to the private, usually deserted beach along a wonderful forest track was a real highlight. We appreciated the welcome pack and tried to return the favour by buying a new corkscrew which was missing on our arrival but we inadvertently took that one home with us (as a previous occupant must have done) sorry! We really hope to be back, thanks again.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yard Cottage."

Wonderful location, quiet and scenic. Good for countryside walks. Accommodation comfortable with good facilities. The only minor criticism is the lack of a stand up full shower in the downstairs en-suite.

  • "We had a great time."

Cottage is cozy and estate is really lovely. Easy access to all of the main attractions and you can access the south coast path from the estate which was really convenient. Some minor negative points: Mattresses were really uncomfortable, smoke detector is too close to shower room so sets off with the steam and bathroom extractor in the kitchen is not fit for purpose to extract smoke/smells. Kitchen extractor with variable setting should be fitted instead. Apart from this we had a fab time :)
