  • "Lovely property very comfortable."

I stayed on my own and found the bed so comfortable and very peaceful location considering it’s just off a road. Walking up and down the hill is very hard work, however I’ve been coming to salcombe for many years so I knew this is what I signed up for so I’ve become very fit over the past week

  • "Lovely quaint terraced cottage that was very clean & tidy."

Entry to it up a narrow slip road, with a VERY small car parking area, for reference. Steep steps up to the front door, with gravel part way up pathway which is slightly uneven underfoot. Door key safe needs to be replaced as very difficult to obtain key as it is very stiff & weathered. Cottage very clean & fresh. Plenty of kitchen equipment. Clean towels & bedding provided. Lounge nice, but only has sitting for 4 people, as does the kitchen table, with 4 chairs. Very steep steps up to the back garden sitting area, which could do with a little tidy up. Salcombe is a very lovely area to holiday in, but, also very hilly. This cottage is a good steep walk up from the main town & not a walk for the faint hearted or those who struggle to walk far with a heart problems. Water pressure very low upstairs.

  • "Delightful cottage, modern fittings and a kitchen a lot larger and lighter than our own at home."

House was spotless when we arrived. Salcombe really is paradise on earth. Went to a service at the parish church which was very friendly and all part of the Salcombe experience. The town is built on a hill which is its charm. It's a steep walk up from the harbour, though it doesn't take more than 10 minutes. Very scenic half hour walk to the nearest beach which is perfect for swimming. Lovely sheltered patio. Supplies of washing up liquid, loo roll etc were a bit mean. So pleased to have found this house and we would love to come back. Jenifer

  • "Toilet had been used prior to our arrival and not flushed."

Marked wallpaper. Water pressure upstairs very poor. Barbecue still full and hadn't been cleaned for ages. Lack of instructions of how to use things. Couldn't open Velux windows in the kitchen and downstairs shower room. Could of done with a mop and bucket to clean kitchen floor Only enough room for a small car in car park space. I struggled and I only have a Honda Jazz Despite above we still had a comfortable stay and Salcombe is a Beautiful place!

  • "The house was spacious and well located…."

But there are some issues that really would make a massive positive difference that would be easy to fix. Both the beds are just doubles, so very small. The rooms are well big enough to have king size and this would make staying SO much more comfortable. The mattress in the back bedroom is wafer thin currently so really need changing…but pleeease upgrade to a bigger bed! The dining table only has 4 chairs, so nowhere for 6 people to eat food. The kitchen space is marvellous. Modern, spacious and we loved having a sofa in the kitchen. The downstairs bathroom is quite rusty and could do with a refit… So, great sized house, but just furnished poorly.

  • "Was a really lovely stay even in a wet and windy January let the office know that roof light in kitchen was very damp after the rainstorms water not coming in but definitely needs checking to look after the house, but did not effect us."

One small thing only 1 toilet roll for two bathrooms wasn’t great but all in all a lovely warm home from home

  • "Access to the property was restricted by builders blocking each end of the private road each day."

The parking space is too small for this property. We were not allowed to use the key safe, and had to walk up and down a steep hill to collect the key from the office. The water pressure in the bathroom is extremely low, and it just trickles from the tap. There is not enough seating in the lounge for 6 people, and only 4 chairs at the dining table for 6 people.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that you had some trouble parking, the garages that were being built have now been finished, this should not longer be an issue. A lot of guests collecting keys from us will pull up outside the office and pop in to collect keys. Thank you for the other comments you have made on the property, we will pass these onto the owner. We do hope you had a lovely stay and enjoyed all that Salcombe has to offer. Property Owner

  • "We had an excellent holiday at 3 Top View Cottage, thank you."

The only advice I would say is that if you are visiting with a family during the winter then download a few films before you go as the wifi is quite slow and streaming or downloading on a rainy day can take ages. Also, a large casserole dish for making spag bol or stew, a set of scales and a cafetiere would be ace please. The cottage is cosy and welcoming. We had a lovely holiday.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at 3 Top View Cottages. We work very closely with the owner and will pass on your recommendations. We do hope we can welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our few days at this cottage, it felt like a real home from home experience."

The cottage is fully equipped and modern. The location is great, 5 min walk into town. Lovely walks local, we were able to park the car up and leave it, throughout our stay. My only negative response for this cottage is the smell of dogs on the sofa in the kitchen and in the front bedroom, due to previous guests allowing them on the sofa and bed.
