Great quiet location within Salcombe, a 20 mins walk or near bus stop.

Uphill on way back. Clean and tidy, beds super comfy. Good sized house, bedrooms 1 and 2 are great and bedroom 3 downstairs with bunk bed ok, but not huge. Lounge a good size and kitchen has all needed. Off road parking, but trickier with lower non suv type vehicles. Outdoor seating comfy. BBQ was good and clean. Would definitely book again. Good communication from Sykes.

Lovely house, so spacious.

The kitchen is really well equipped. The driveway is steep but large. So nice to have comfortable garden furniture. Only downside is the location is a long steep walk to and from the town if you plan on visiting daily

It was very clean and the beds were so comfortable, would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at this house.

It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. With lovely garden furniture and a very sunny aspect. We thought it was well supplied with soap, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Some additional items in the kitchen such as salad bowl, servers, potato masher and water jug would be helpful. The drive is steep which is fine for 4x4s. Recommend parking one car on the drive and if you have a second car parking elsewhere as one neighbour was difficult about parking near the property. We moved our second car elsewhere as it was too low to get on the drive.

We had a great stay!

We stayed with our two young children, the property was spotless upon arrival, really well equipped and in a peaceful location. We spent our mornings in the town and afternoons by the beach, highly recommend this property and Salcombe.

Lovely property within walking distance of the town.

Spotlessly clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Enclosed rear garden was ideal for our dog . It was only two of us and the dog but the house itself is plenty big enough for a large family. Would highly recommend

Comfortable house.

Large kitchen.nice having 2 loos. Perhaps larger bath towels on every bed. But the chocolate on each bed was a lovely touch and the box of chocolates in kitchen.

We visited Salcombe for the first time this October and loved every minute.

8 Little Hill was the perfect accommodation for us and our dog. Great location; its just a 15minute walk from Salcombe town centre in one direction and the beach in the other. It is on top of a hill so it's uphill on the walk back home but not a problem for us and meant it gave our dog a little walk too. The house was clean, well maintained, exactly what we needed and as advertised. The only thing was that the garden isn't secure so we couldn't let our dog outside on his own. But this was minor as we were so close to beach and countryside that he had plenty of long walks. We would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at the property.

It’s warm and welcoming, peaceful and accessible to Salcombe. There’s a few small issues that could be improved including more saucepans and oven dishes, a simple sheet explaining how to turn on the grille (as there was for the oven) and fixing the bathroom door lock as it currently doesn’t. Lovely house overall.

The location was great for little hill.

However, it was quite disappointing for a quick turnaround as the cleanliness was something left to be desired for. Many windows were filthy and some didn’t open. The shower does need fixing and drains sorting as very slow as draining away in the bathroom. The sofas in the living room could well be 10 years old and worn in certain places. My advice would be a good deep clean and an update on certain areas

We were a little concerned about staying after reading a recent review of the house, but needn’t of worried!! The house was clean, tidy, comfortable and worked really well for our family of two young children. There beds were extremely comfortable (the best sleep we’ve had in years). The house had everything we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great property for families.

Good location for getting around south hams as well as Salcombe. Well equipped and comfortable. Bath and shower stuck on blistering hot. Not able to contact anyone until Monday. Plumber fixed it quickly, but then it leaked into the kitchen below...so we didn't use it again andonly had one shower and had to put cold into the bath with a pan which was a bit of a pain.

The house itself is in a quiet residential cul de sac and not a bad spot to get into Salcombe, the beaches etc but would recommend using a car unless you like hill walking.

There were a number of issues on arrival - overgrown garden and bins overflowing. The agents were quick to respond, the gardener arrived shortly afterwards, however the “grass” at the rear is just weeds & dandelions so we couldn’t use it for our 10 month old to play on. The main issue was the Bosch FRIDGE FREEZER, a couple of days in all our food in the fridge had frozen and had to be binned. The agent sent a standalone fridge and the maintenance man commented that this has happened before. I can now see from previous reviews this is a recurring issue and would question why it’s not been addressed as there is obviously a tech fault with it putting itself into super cool daily. The house is airy and spacious and would comfortably fit 6 people but parts of the house could do with a little titivating (fraying carpet, hole in kitchen flooring, living room windows) the agent said the owners were aware. The sofas are very worn and discoloured and make the place feel a little dirty. The windows in the front room were almost impossible to open but needed to be as the sun comes into the room making it very warm. The bathroom has obviously been renovated to a good standard but the SHOWER pipe is too short to get the shower head to its max height meaning that if you’re a taller person you couldn’t get a decent shower without spraying the back wall. One thing that did strike us was how HOT the water got and no signage advising this, a recommendation was made to the agent about this so be careful!! Three days in a “for sale” sign appeared in the garden which made us think that maybe the owners have not addressed the issues already raised by previous guests as they’re looking to sell the property. We’ve stayed in a number of holiday rentals and we were generally disappointed with this property, it’s a shame the issues have not already been addressed given the reviews, hence the star rating; thankfully the agent was local and responded quickly to our immediate needs.

Overall the house was excellent, very easy checking in.

Was as described in the advert but we were disappointed that the house did not provide even the most basic condiment’s such as sugar, salt, pepper etc. also just 2 toilet rolls for the 3 days.

Overall a pleasant experience.

Salcombe is a Gem, when it comes to the property, we would tend to agree with some of the previous reviews. The fridge ruined all salad items within 12 hrs by freezing them on eco mode!! Be prepared to arrive with coffee, tea, milk etc as none at property. Not a massive problem but it would have been nice. Sofa’s stained and mattress on bed in master bedroom sags on right hand side, which is why we only gave 3 star comfort. Back garden poorly lit at night especially with steps, this needs addressing. Lawn is full of dandelions (no real Grass in rear garden) so problematic if you have small children. The windows were painted shut and needed firm pressure to open. Finally lots of neighbours park in turning point in front of property making it difficult to get onto driveway.

The house was very well equipped with everything we needed.

We were aware that it was on a hill so the walk back up was no surprise but it was a challenge. We made use of the Park and Ride bus during the day which was only a few minutes walk from the house. We found Salcombe to be pleasant but limited for evening food options. There were some issues with the house. In particular, on Good Friday early morning, there was a large crash and we found the ceiling light in the kitchen had fallen down. We reported this and it was replaced within an hour. The refrigerator was another issue as it froze everything even on Eco mode. The large front room had three heaters but only the small electric heater worked. The underfloor heating in the bathroom and kitchen was very efficient. The communication and service offered by Sykes was excellent.

Little Hill was the perfect holiday let - simple, clean and highly functional!

It worked perfectly for our family of 4 plus dog. It’s a great convenient location too - walking distance to central Salcombe and also perfectly placed to visit all the surrounding beaches & beauty spots. Plus very convenient having a delightful farm shop just around the corner. The suggestion of a hot tub worked so well too. Thank you!

I have reported a few issues with the property.

The heating in the large lounge/dining area was permanently cold. We were having to use a tiny electric fan heater within the decorative electric stove. The night storage heaters remained cold even when the owner remotely switched them on. The shower leaked and come through the kitchen ceiling. Very surprised at the amount of water if it was just a sealant problem. Also the bath did not hold the water as it seeped through the plug. So it was quite a trial with 4 adults trying to shower/bath. We also discovered the fridge was freezing our food. This ruined fresh food and our herbs and Celery perished with being frozen. I left a jug of water in the fridge to show it was frozen. The settings were tried on Eco and middle temperature but nothing changed. I was quite disappointed with this property.

Lovely comfortable property in quite location.

A great property, however what a carry on getting the TV to function.

You would need all your passwords for the various apps, that’s if you had them in the first place. Needs an Ariel to simplify things. Also only 2 sharp knives, a paring and a bread knife, nothing in between.

Overall we were very happy with our stay at the property.

Just a few issues the owner may want to consider addressing. 1. Issue regards parking on driveway needs to be addressed more. Had a neighbour come round after a day or so to tell me to move our car onto the driveway. His manner was not good . The driveway entrance needs to be looked at. Firstly the kerb needs lowering. My car with 5 passenger's in was bottoming out when either drove in or out. In other words the the sills of the car were scraping on the kerb which has caused damage to my car. Driveway needs widening.... Not a lot of room width wise. Also bathroom shower curtain needs replacing. If you are not careful water can easily get on bathroom floor causing a leak in to kitchen below. Finally better instruction's need to be provided for kitchen appliances. Eg . Cooker, washing machine and drier. Also TV in living room as well. TV doesn't seem to have Freeview installed? Sorry to be picky....But have been asked to give feedback.

The property is ideal, it's location is great 15 mins to town or beach walking, it's clean, well equipped and comfortable, we had a fabulous stay and would come back again.

This is advertised as a dog friendly place, it really isn’t.

The garage and house are separate. There is a porch area connecting the two. Your dog is expected to sleep here, with the the door to the house closed. No! There is no terrestrial to, you have to use iPlayer or ITVX. The enclosed garden for the dogs is very small. The photos taken of the garden that looks long and large are not. Also the beds have ends on them, be aware, if you are a tall person like me it’s not great. On the plus side, it’s very handy location for Salcombe, and the views are great from there. There is a bus near the property that goes into Salcombe also.

We had a brilliant time in Salcombe and the house was lovely.

We would definitely book again if the back garden was secure. It wasn’t secure enough to leave our dog at all. She got out once which was frightening. So just popping back into the house for a drink one of us needed to stay with her. The house was faultless and clean. Just needs fencing all down the back.

Rear garden was not enclosed as the fence needs repairing so needed to keep the dog on the lead which is annoying More crockery is required please we had to keep washing up which is not eco friendly Local info, walks, and maps would be handy Very comfortable house in a nice area Shower was good and all appliances were new and easy to use Beds were comfy and house was very clean
