Blackstone Cottage

SALCOMBE, Devon

Description

Blackstone Cottage is a superb dog-friendly detached property, at the upper end of Devon Road, within walking distance of Salcombe's shops, quayside and restaurants.

The town’s beautiful beach of North Sands is just a 10-minute walk via Sandhills Road, and the South West Coast Path is also easily accessible, meaning this property is exceptionally well located for exploring!

Highlights of the property include a beautifully fitted kitchen, large sitting/dining area and delightful south-facing lounge with a large window and French doors leading out to the garden.

On the upper 'studio' level are two double bedrooms built into the roof space, both with double beds, one with a door opening out to a small balcony with sea views.

The third bedroom is on the lower, garden level and has twin beds.

The property also has a fully tiled bathroom on the upper level, and a shower room at the garden level.

In addition, there is also a cloakroom and a utility room.

Perhaps most attractive to dog owners, outside there is a lovely garden with lawn, and a south-facing sun terrace with table, chairs, and a barbecue.

There are also parking spaces for two cars – an added bonus in this popular sailing town!

Equally suited to families or couples, the property is a lovely base for those looking to enjoy both Salcombe’s beaches and busy Fore Street.

It’s a great house in a good location with fantastic facilities.

Loved the layout & it was well equipped. Showers were very good & there’s a toilet on every level. Enclosed garden was fantastic for the dogs & having parking was a real bonus, Downhill walk for Salcombe town & North Sands Beach but quite a steep walk back. There is a bus stop outside but it didn’t bother us & although it’s on a crossroad the traffic when we were there was quiet & there wasn’t much traffic noise. The only suggestions we have are: Driveway entrance is narrow. We only just got our car (Range Rover Velar) through the gates, a wider entrance would be good especially if you’re trying to park in the dark. A hosepipe attached to the outside tap would be great for washing sand off dogs & boots. An outside light in the garden would be good especially for dog owners.

It was a beautiful home to stay in.

What we didn't realise was how far out of the centre it was, so our elderly father struggled with his confidence and the steep hills even in his buggy. I think it should state that it is not suitable for people with disabilities. It is a good 15mins up a very steep cliff face, so maybe people need to be aware of this.

A very well-equipped house with everything needed for a stay.

We felt right at home. A minor repair that was needed was handled quickly, competently, and in a friendly manner!
