Firm Anchor provided a great base for exploring Salcombe and the surrounding area.

The kitchen was extremely well equipped with plenty of storage space for own food etc. The whole accommodation was very comfortable.

The house was immaculate when we arrived and the owner's very prompt to reply to any needs or questions! The weather was also wonderful for this time of year. Plenty of appliances to ensure we felt at home. Thank you, Jonathan & Family!

Had a lovely stay with stunning views.

We definitely had enough space considering there were 9 of us and two dogs. The house could do with a bit of a refresh.

Found the place easily, cosy home, lovely view.

Some very basic things could have been better, toilet roll ran out first night - no replacements, limited dishwashing tablets, no laundry detergent - One side of the toaster doesnt stay down. Worst thing about the stay were the ridiculous check-in and check out times, 4pm and 10am. The "gentleman" that arrived 10 on the dot, was very unfriendly, didnt even say hello - we were almost done, after having exhausted the 2page check-out list, including having to put the bins out (we're on holiday, not a cleaning festival), and yet his demeanour was only annoyance and disappointment. We all felt it. Best thing about the stay was a lovely clean home, good accommodation (wish there was one more double bed though), great views, decent parking, well equipped home including bluetooth speaker. Overall we enjoyed it, but due to the strict check in and check out policy, are unlikely to book again or recommend, its too much hassle to get a family of 8+ out the house by 10am while abiding by all the strict cleaning rules

Beautiful location and spot in stunning Salcombe.

Near to everything you need and just a walk away from the buzz of the town. The house is well-equipped and comfortable, plenty of space and amazing views.

A floorplan would have been useful as we all misunderstood the layout which caused us to have to be innovative with our sleeping arrangements.

Seeing that bedrooms are two floors apart for example.

There were no photos of the very steep internal and external steps I would not have stayed here had I realised.

As there was no key for the patio doors for the downstairs bedroom we had to access the garden via the family room which also has a very steep step outside. Property not suitable if you have any mobility issues or children. Even if you used the stair gates I wouldn’t recommend for children. Other issues include - all blinds need cleaning, cobwebs in utility room window, no plug for upstairs en suite bath, fusty smell inside kitchen, no outside light for the garden at night if you let dogs out, only essential bin bags, toilet tolls, dishwasher tablets are provided. No welcome pack, only list of rules and where to put things in cupboards. Information pack didn’t include any information of local attractions, buses, restaurants only had one leaflet for the ferry. Salcombe is a lovely place, this property is at the top of a steep hill and didn’t see any public transport

Lovely house , great views , really happy with our stay

Cleanilness was a poor standard.

The bedding and towels were not fresh. They smelt fousty and the pillows had a sweaty smell. Even 2 beds had hairs in them. Not impressed at all. The fridge needs replacing as door hanging off and very rusty, we had to clean ourselves before we put our own food in it. Patio door unsecured and would not lock, so yoyr valuables not safe. The location was perfect and the size of the property great for large groups, everything you need. It is in need of modersing and a very good cleaner. The standard is very poor especially for the salcombe postcode.

There was nothing wrong with the property, everything worked well, but it was very tired and in need of a refresh.

Firm Anchor is five star The property is located close to the harbour, shops and pubs.

All of which are of high standards with friendly staff. The property itself is on 3 levels with accommodation over 5 bedrooms, we were 7 adults, one child (2 1/2) and two babies. The kitchen was excellent and had more than enough crockery, cutlery, pans , glasses etc for the 10 of us The 2 fridges was a great addition also as we had lots of food, beer and wine to fill them. There is a Spar mini market on the next street which came in handy. When we ventured out the local beaches they were all clean and water quality was excellent. The ferry across the estuary and onto south beach were both excellent. We visited the local area and Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Blackpool beach and Bigby on sea / Burgh island, All worth a visit Also Dartmoor is well worth a visit to see the wild Dartmoor ponies. We enjoyed this property but would not advise anyone with poor mobility visits as the walk up from town requires good mobility and fitness.

Clean and spacious cottage with amazing outlook over estuary from top floor.

Steep walk down to the town, but to be expected in a cottage with such views Well equipped kitchen with extras such as salt and pepper, plenty of room for own food, and milk in the fridge on arrival. Decking for eating when warm enough. Comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms with plentiful hot water. The phone numbers given didn't respond in the evening to a minor query so we luckily there was no emergency such as being locked out. Would certainly consider returning.

Lovely views - great aspect and good accommodation for a couple of families.

The kitchen was well stocked with equipment although quite snug when occupied by more than one person. Having two fridges was a bonus. Beds were comfortable. The electric shower in the utility would benefit from being replaced as the two other showers were outstanding and no one wanted to use it after trying the others. There was a damp smell / atmosphere in the bunk room downstairs and which was slightly off-putting, but i suspect that this is not an easy fix. Possibly a dehumidifier would help.
