Lovely cottage close to the town Well equipped with everything needed for a holiday

The location is great, with easy access to the long stay car park.

The apartment is spacious, larger than others we’ve stayed in on Island Street, which made it feel much more comfortable. It’s also well equipped, with a washing machine, freezer, and a generously sized fridge. The only improvements I’d suggest would be replacing the blind in the front bedroom, as it’s quite worn and lets in light from outside signage at night. We also noticed a paint can and a jerry can left in the family bathroom, which should ideally be removed. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and were satisfied.

I have booked cottages and apartments with Sykes over the years because I was assured of quality properties but unfortunately Quarter Deck did not live up to this expectation.

It is a tired property that needs updating, especially the beds. Overall we found Quarter Deck clean and tidy and in a good central spot in Salcombe. However, on arrival we found a dirty sock from the previous occupants on the floor by the front door stop (not a great start), there were glue dots on the ceiling (possibly where previous occupants had put up Christmas decorations), the freezer was full of the previous occupants food, there was a dirty oily tray in the oven and we found used Christmas wrapping paper in the front bedroom under bed drawer. In addition, the front bedroom under bed drawer front fell off as soon as we walked into the bedroom (we had only been there a few minutes when this happened). We contacted Sykes who offered to send someone to sort it but we had unpacked and settled in so we declined as we felt at this point it wasn't anything urgent. We then discovered that the front bedroom bed frame was the squeakiest and noisiest we have ever experienced. We have never had such bad nights sleep as on this awful bed, the mattress was shallow and very uncomfortable, it also had a dip in the middle. The mattress topper didn't fit properly on the mattress so kept coming lose. We arrived home absolutely shattered whereas we were expecting to feel revived. There is a for sale sign outside the property, I assume the owners have given up maintaining this property because they are selling it.

Perfect location for all the amenities and, once unloaded, we didn’t need to use the car all week as everything we wanted was in walking distance.

The accommodation itself was basic but fine to use as a base to come back to after long walks etc. I imagine the front bedroom could be noisy in busy periods due to the footfall of passing people but for us it was fine as it was very quiet in the town in October.

Unfortunately, we only did one night because our dog was injured and we had to come the home.

Nevertheless, this is our second stay in this lovely cottage and we had no issues. It’s a great location and a lovely clean well- equipped cottage. Highly recommended. We will be back once our dog has fully recovered.

The actual extra cost of car parking was very disappointing £13 per 24hrs!

And quite a distance from the property. Quite a dark property with no real views, but clean & well equipped, thought would have liked a coffee machine. Beds not that comfortable for us.

The main bedroom was damp and smelling of mould.

So did all the linen and cupboards. The bathroom was quite dirty and no extras left like soap,toilet roll.Good shower though. Kitchen needed more equipment. TV very poorly positioned with seating in lounge. Wouldn't return to that property but good location.

Ver pleased with this holiday cottage.

This property provided the perfect location.

The layout was ideal and having the little courtyard was perfect. It was certainly well equiped providing everything you could possibly need. I'd definately recommend this place.

On arrival, we found a frying pan left in the oven, not cleaned, full of fat.

We left the pan as evidence on leaving. Batteries flat in hive thermostat, heating came on full one night, could not turn off, small patio area left untidy on arrival allot of debris. Other than that, very nice, clean and comfortable cottage. We would stay again.

Well equipped, comfortable and bigger than expected.

Some basic instructions for using the oven and microwave would have been helpful. Good position in centre of Salcombe but this meant paying for parking. We used the park and ride car park as the cheapest option but this was a 25 minute walk from the property.

As always I’ve had a wonderful stay at Quarter Deck … I’ve stayed here on numerous occasions … cosy .

. clean and well equipped .. shower in the en-suite in the back bedroom is probably the best shower I’ve had … you have everything you need in the flat and is a stones throw from the main high street … the only negative this time is the courtyard area wasn’t as clean as before … lots of dog hairs around especially in the drain … other than that I had a lovely stay …

Fabulous property.

Ideal location for a mostly flat walk to Batson's Creek and also into the town. Only a 5 min walk from the waterfront. Only a 2 min walk from Salcombe Gin and Rum. Cosy and well equipped.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions l just love it … it’s a perfect property for anyone wanting to stay in Salcombe … it’s just around the corner from the Main Street … The only thing I would like to suggest is can you provide jigsaws … I visit Salcombe on my own and last weekend the the weather wasn’t that good and l wasn’t able to go for my usual walks which was fine as the property was warm and cosy but there is only so much tv you can watch so a jigsaw would have passed the time … l will be back …

Second time visiting this property … just love it … bus stop around the corner … centre of Salcombe 5 minutes walk away … ground floor accommodation which is perfect for me … heating was on so it was nice and cosy and warm when I got there … I’ll be back .

Lovely accommodation and centrally situated , excellent value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage: it is well located for the town, large enough, clean and well maintained and well appointed with facilities.

Our only complaint was the comfort of the rather small bed, otherwise all good. We also appreciated the C and C’s team’s prompt response to our requests.

The location is great, we slept in the back bedroom which was very quiet and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The floor tiles in the en-suite bathroom creak when you stand on them and the toilet itself as well as the seat is quite loose. The water pressure is very good so it’s a pleasant shower however but the water sprays onto the bathroom floor, I think a larger shower screen or the addition of a shower curtain would solve this. The living area is nice and well equipped, it would be nice if there was a smart tv so guests can connect to their phone to watch Netflix/catch up tv etc.

Disappointed by the lack of any recycling facilities.

Shower was impractical- totally soaked the bathroom floor.

Lovely apartment, a lot bigger than expected.

If sleeping in the front bedroom, be prepared for noise, people walking past at all hours, plus seagulls screeching from 5am! But if you sleep in the back bedroom, you can't hear anything, it's like a different place. But would definitely stay again, the price was fantastic for school holidays
