  • "Following the directions take care not to miss the turn into the farm gate, across the gravel and first gateway left."

    The country views and out to sea are lovely and the silence can almost be heard. Through the door into hall, kitchen and lounge, all well presented, clean and tidy. Narrow staircase off lounge into large bedroom with ensuite and an amazing country/sea view from the window. If you like the country with sea, peace and quiet in comfortable accommodation then this place is for you. Granted there was no one in the larger adjoining property but it was so very peaceful and the owners are lovely. The shippen is just on top of the hill so given the correct wind the country air can occasionally be enjoyed. We would recommend this accommodation and will no doubt visit again.

    Lots to do locally, as well as slightly farther afield. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend. A perfect getaway for the two of us.

  • "The cottage was lovely clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed it was like home from home."

    The views from the garden were fantastic, we saw birds of pray, plus other wildlife animals, the cottage is on a working farm, but we did not get any disturbance from it at all. We received a call from the owner after a couple of days to make sure everything was ok with the cottage. On arrival at the cottage we had been left a bottle of milk and fresh baked scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream which were delicious, thank you.

  • "Very well equipped and maintained property in a lovely setting."

    Good garden area with views of the coast and two sun loungers provided. Around 10 minutes to drive into Bude and close to the south west coast path Only problem we had was that we found the blinds in the lounge frustratingly difficult to pull open and close we were very happy there and would return

  • "We loved our stay in this comfortable cottage."

    All the facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean. There’s a beautiful sea view from the house and as it’s in a rural location we saw rabbits, pheasants and birds of prey. Bude and other beaches are within easy reach and it’s a lovely part of Cornwall. We would thoroughly recommend this property.

    Great views. We found that as it was on a farm there were a few flies around.

  • "Lovely place to stay."

    Everything that was needed was available. Perhaps in the future a washing machine or dishwasher. One negative, rugs a bit annoying as easily rucked and moved. Floor was fine in kitchen, didn’t need rugs in fact we put it out of the way while there. However holiday was fab.

Poughill is an ancient Cornish village resting between Bude and Kilhampton. The village is well-known for winning the Best Kept Village award on numerous occasions, and offers a welcoming pub, supermarket and historic church. Just outside of the village is Bude, where dining options include, Life’s a Beach and The Bank at Bude Tapas and Grill, as well as a well-stocked convenience store to stock up on essentials.
