“I was the first guest to stay at this newly redecorated house.”

It was therefore very clean and most appliances were new.

It was therefore very clean and most appliances were new. It is a very comfortable, welcoming house, situated directly on the sea front. The road outside is quiet, so one can hear the waves of the sea through open windows, which I find very soothing. Parking is at the rear of the house, accessed from a different road. A Tesco store is a short walk from the house, as is the centre of Seaton with other shops and restaurants. I thoroughly recommend this house for a seaside holiday.

The property

Nestled in the coastal town of Seaton, in East Devon, is this delightful three-storey property, 14 Lyme Mews which has views out to sea from three rooms.

Internally, the cottage has been refurbished by the owners to provide a light and welcoming accommodation.

Drop your coats and muddy boots by the front door and step into the lovely snug room, where you can get some quiet time to catch up on some reading.

Walk through to the open-plan kitchen/diner which has a lovely set of modern white units and sleek granite effect worktops, housing a range of appliances to cook up some delicious meals.

There is a dining area with seating for six and makes for the perfect spot to enjoy a home-cooked meal or bring some board games from home for those quieter evening and enjoy a family game.

The first-floor is home to a lovely sitting room where you can unwind into the evening with delightful views from the Juliet balcony.

Choose between a first-floor double or a second-floor double or twin, offering quality bed linens and a set of furniture for storing your personal items.

Seaton is an excellent coastal town to use as your base, as it gives access to a number of pubs if you don't fancy cooking one evening, as well as some independent shops for picking up those last-minute essentials.

Venture towards Seaton Jurassic where you can get involved with a range of activities taking you on a journey back 200 million years ago, something you and your little ones will delight in.

The Seaton Tramway gives the perfect tour of the stunning Jurassic coastline and an abundance of wildlife and two nature reserves to spot along the way.

For a spot of history, venture towards the Beer Quarry Caves which have been linked to an underground cathedral.

Also nearby are Beer and Seaton beaches, ideal for family days out to the coast.

Discover the beautiful marshland of the Seaton Wetlands, where you can explore the five bird hides and get up to some fishing at the River Axe.

Further afield is the East Devon AONB, popular for a range of activities such as walking, cycling, horse riding and kayaking.

14 Lyme Mews is the perfect holiday home for making memories that will last.
