Lovely and peaceful property.

Issues with shower but that didn't ruin our stay. Everything and more you could possibly need. Weather wasn't kind but still able to get out and about. Bailey our little pooch loved his stay too. Fab enclosed garden and lovely field next door for walks. Seen 2 roe deer in field plus pheasants. Would highly recommend to stay here.

We have stayed in many holiday cottages and Hazelnut Lodge is the best by far.

The setting is beautiful, the lodge was perfect, the attention to detail and comfort within the lodge was outstanding. If you want all of the above for a holiday, along with peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Hazelnut lodge is the perfect place for a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing holiday.

Everything you could possibly need is provided, even dog towels to dry muddy paws. We enjoyed every moment of our stay there, and came home refreshed after a busy year. The lodge has a large enclosed garden surrounded by beautiful countryside, and is within easy driving distance of the coast. Exeter and Barnstaple are a scenic train journey away from pretty Yeoford Station, and nearby Crediton has a small high street of mostly independent shops and eating places. There are lots of interesting and beautiful places to visit in the area. We saw deer in the garden early in the morning, and a sky absolutely full of stars at night, unspoiled by any light pollution. This is our second visit to Hazlenut lodge, and we will be booking again in 2026.

We have visited a number of holiday cottages and this has been by far the best.

Lovely location quiet and peaceful with deer rabbits and squirrels for company .Inside the property being spotless the decor first class you had every facility you could possibly need. The attention to detail in the cottage was very impressive. Freddie are dog loved it as there was a large grassed area with dog proof fencing. Jane the host was very friendly and helpful.

What a divine place to go for rest and relaxation.

The décor is exquisite and the location is peaceful and beautiful. The property owner ensures that all mod cons are available. We were treated to a magnificent view of deer just beyond the boundary of the garden. Would highly recommend.

The lodge is situated in a tranquil and picturesque location. The property was beautifully decorated and well-equipped, providing everything necessary for a comfortable stay. We recommend updating the listing to reflect that the television is not a smart TV. We highly recommend this property and would welcome the opportunity to stay there again should we return to the area.

Beautifully clean, & a lovely garden for you to just sit in & enjoy the peace & quiet of the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended.

This was our 2nd stay here and it equalled our first.

The location is superb and the cottage is equipped with everything necessary for a week's stay. Ideal for dog owners (although we didn't have one) with a fully enclosed large garden. For bird lovers the variety of birds is a delight as the raised decking is next to mixed woodland. If you want a quiet and very comfortable break, this is perfect.

Interesting holiday home in a very tranquil setting, surrounded by trees and fields.

Local roads are a challenge! On arrival we found delicious scones, jam & cream … a lovely gesture. The lodge was very clean with pretty decor. Bed & chairs very comfortable, plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. The water was extremely hot in the kitchen but we would have preferred it to be hotter in the shower. All in all a lovely lodge for a restful holiday. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed his stay too and was welcomed by the friendly owners.

This accommodation was nothing short of perfect, we could quite happily live there.

Would highly recommend to anyone. Loved it.

it surpassed my expectations on hygiene,the quality of the building,and how well equipped it was.I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of a quite break in a beautiful setting in rural Devon.

Brilliant place.

Could not fault it. Best place we have ever stayed. It was clean and comfortable and so well furnished and equipped. For once we did not feel we were amongst someone's castoffs. We will return.

We had a wonderful week at hazelnut lodge, the owners were very helpful and on hand if we needed anything, the lodge was clean and very comfortable, the super king bed was amazing also very comfortable and soft, we also took our dog with us , the garden was fully inclosed and quite big so he had lots of fun and loads of smells to smell!

Will definitely be back !

Beautiful place to stay.

The lodge had everything you could possibly need, was immaculate, tastefully furnished, extremely comfortable and cosy. The garden and property were maintained to a very high standard, and the garden was safe and secure for our dog. Due to the heavy rain recently the steep uneven driveway was a bit of a challenge, but that was a minor issue. The owners were very friendly and helpful, we felt so welcome. The train in Yeoford was brilliant, takes you either to Exeter or to Barnstaple, and there are lovely walks. It was the most restful and quiet holiday we have had for a very long time. After acquiring a dog rather late in life, we found this new self catering holiday experience to be exceptionally enjoyable and have already booked for next year.

The lodge was of an extremely high standard, with top quality furnishings and fittings.

Really upmarket, with everything you could possibly want. Exceptionally clean. It is set in beautiful countryside. The hosts were lovely and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend this property and hope to return next year. Jan and Howard

I would like to thank you for making our stay so perfect in every way possible.

On arrival there was a cream tea waiting for us and some milk, tea and coffee if you haven't brought your own. The scone was delicious! The lodge has lots of space for two people and the open plan set up was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the sofa and chair and unlike a lot of rentals you had also provided footstools which is a must in our eyes for comfort. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was a powerful shower in the bathroom. It was the quietest place and had terrific views across the valley. You hadn't skimped on anything and I wish every owner of a holiday rental took the care and consideration for their guests that you did. It was a refreshing delight that the photographs actually matched the 5 star accommodation, well done and we will be telling our family and friends about it without hesitation. Thanks again.

Had a great 7 night stay at Hazel nut Lodge, everything was perfect, bed was soooo comfy, very modern and well furnished, lovely safe garden for our dog, pity weather wasn't better to be able to sit outside in the evening, but so quite and peaceful, was watching mum bluetit feeding her young the morning we left.

Outstanding in every respect.

Beautiful secluded location, very comfortable accommodation with everything you could possibly need and friendly owners. We have booked the same cottage for next year. The photos really don't do it justice. We will be recommending it to friends.

It’s absolutely beautiful. Had a lovely welcome on way in by Ricky who was cutting the grass. The garden is huge and totally enclosed and my dog Haze loved it. Stayed 3 nights which was not long enough. There is everything there that you could need. Sat in the garden in the morning with a cuppa, I called my mum and said “listen” she said I can only hear the birds singing. It was beautiful, the deer came up to the field next to us, rabbits running around playing. It was heaven. Definitely will go back again. Just beautiful. Thank you.
