• "We found this to be an absolutely gorgeous property."

  It felt like being at home. We greatly appreciated the love that has gone into the interior design. The experience felt like a retreat in a country house in Homes and Gardens. A stunning enclosed garden for our dog who also loved it. We found the little village and pub to be quite enchanting. We will definately be back Thank you .

• "This cottage is wonderful."

  We can recommend it highly. Lovely location. But we cannot recommend Sykes as a company. They were uncontactable for over three days when we were trying to ascertain whether high chair and cot were available. We had also asked for these items a week before the holiday -with no response. If only we had known that Coastal and Country cottages were actually the company looking after the cottage. Acting under the umbrella of Sykes. They were marvellous. And got back to us within an hour. Would therefore go directly to Coastal and Country cottages in the future.

• "Lovely property which is tastefully decorated in quiet location."

  Perfect for Slapton Sands which is a stunning beach and dog friendly. Parking for one car but we managed by parking second car up the road. The bed in the master bedroom is not very comfortable but others were fine. Welcome pack and dishwasher tablets were a nice touch. Would recommend.

• "We had a wonderful stay at Rosevine."

  It is very well equipped property, comfortable and spacious and sociable. The large garden is beautiful - we had the pleasure of seeing it in Bluebell season. Plenty of space for a group to enjoy, and we even set the fires for these chilly spring evenings. The pebbly beach is just a minute away by car. One thing to be aware of the are the very narrow roads in Slapton - if you have more than one car (as we did being two families), there is only one parking place and the book asks you not to park a second across the front of it. Which we respected. It’s a VERY tight turn into the parking - so take your time. A second car will need to park a 10-15 minute walk away opposite the campsite, just outside the village. The walk to it has an initial steel uphill section - so would be tricky for those with injury or less mobility. And a bit soggy on a rainy day! But if you’re up for adventure it’s still a great choice.

• "Rosevine is a really lovely comfortable house."

  The kitchen is very well-equipped. Everything was clean. We lit the wood burner, which we lit on a couple of cold evenings was an added bonus. The well-planted garden was completely secure for our dog and toddler grandson. We will definitely consider returning one day.

• "We had a great stay."

  The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked in every night. Ideal with our 4 grandchildren. Beautiful garden….comfortable bedrooms. Only niggle was communication. …. we couldn’t get into utility room with washing machine …and found it frustrating that there was no one to answer a call. Owner clearly does not communicate with guests, and Sykes holidays not available after certain hours. A note to say keys ae left on shelves near relevant doors would have helped us. Sykes told me that there was one coffee machine that used pods. Actually there was also a percolator for ground coffee so I needn’t have taken my own. I took clothes washing powder but there was plenty left in the utility room..again communication. However overall we had a great holiday and loved Rosevine. Thank yiu Anne

• "Really enjoyed our stay."

  The house is beautiful, very clean and all the comforts you need. Location is stunning and gardens were beautiful. We had two cars and worried about there being parking for only one car but it was absolutely fine. We had to park one car up the road but there was always spaces just a 5 min walk. Will definitely be back!

• "Fabulous property and gardens , felt really at home but also a privilege to be staying in rosevine!"

  The cottage ( house actually) is very well furnished and has everything you could possibly need, 15 minutes walk to the beach is a bonus. A big thank you to the owners for letting us stay, would love to come back.

• "A very homely cottage with a pretty garden, which we were not able to use as much as we would have liked due to the weather."

  We did notice however that the barbecue grill was left in a very dirty state so we would not have felt able to use it. A smaller frying pan would be a great addition to the kitchen. Overall a very well appointed cottage and I would have no hesitation to rent it again.

• "Rosevine is a beautiful, well appointed and spacious cottage with a beautiful garden in a lovely, peaceful location."

  The quality of the beds and bedding in the spacious bedrooms was excellent. We enjoyed the spacious breakfasting kitchen The wine and ground coffee left for us on arrival was a thoughtful touch. No criticism other than a very petty one, we could find no egg cups :-)).

• "We were really impressed with Rosevine ."

  The house was situated in a very pretty village with two good pubs and a local community store . The property itself was immaculate. lt was a mixture of the old and the new. All the facilities were quality additions and you felt you were in a home rather than somewhere done up for rental. Outside, the beautiful old high walled garden was an added bonus .Because of the size of the village there was only parking for one car. However , there is a village park and walk roughly 5 mins up the hill. One of the best properties we have been to in 17 years !

• "The cottage could use a microwave in the kitchen & wastepaper bins in the bedrooms, also for an 8 person house 1 parking space is not enough."

  we know the village is a heritage site but the park & walk outside the village could be a problem for the less physically active.
