"This property is homely and comfortable."
It's very spacious, kitchen is well equipped. Nice bedding and towels. The ladies loved the hot tub! Parking opposite is good, key entry system on arrival - took a minute to find the key box. Heating controls easy to use. Water was hot in all the bathrooms. It's an old cottage and furnished to suit. The chap next door very helpful too !

"The cottage is in a fantastic but rural location within well maintained grounds."
There is a fantastic walk on the doorstep to an unspoilt rocky beach at Heddons Mouth.
Other popular locations are all a reasonable drive away.
The external of the cottage is beautiful and picturesque.
The internal of the cottage is in need of some maintenance and deep cleaning in some areas.
Particularly the kitchen, utility space and the doors/windows need repair.
The hot tub was dirty on arrival and we had to clean it ourselves before use.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the cottage’s setting, grounds, and the wonderful walk to Heddon’s Mouth. I would like to clarify a few points regarding your comments. The hot tub’s chemical balance was checked on the morning of your arrival and all readings were correct. Our groundsman noticed you were draining the tub and offered assistance with the pump, but this was declined. After your departure, the tub was found to have been refilled without chlorine being added, which left it in poor condition. We then fully drained it, replaced the filters, and rebalanced the system. For this reason, we ask guests not to interfere with the tub water, as it impacts safe and hygienic operation. We also have a new cleaning company undertaking changeovers. The property was fully inspected after your departure, cleaned, and no issues were found at that time. In addition, although you arrived on Friday, your message regarding housekeeping concerns did not reach us until Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, this didn’t give us the opportunity to view or remedy any potential issues during your stay. We will continue to monitor standards carefully, but I hope this reassures you that the matters you raised were taken seriously and have been addressed.

"Because of the Bridge Work which we were not told about, it was very difficult to locate on arrival, for both us and even more so for my wife's daughter and husband-not great."
Sign posting to The Hunters Inn(beyond your control)was not ideal as the only route that was obvious was a hike. I was told there was a short route, but never found it,
Beautiful relaxing property, well fitted out.
Thank you for your review and I’m sorry that you found the property difficult to find.
When you booked, we provide detailed advice on finding the property, explain not to use your SATNAV and to use the what three words app, also the route details we provide would have avoided any road closure issues.
Kindest regards

"The property was absolutely fabulous, was very clean , there was a lovely cake waiting for us too well needed after our drive ."
We had some walks around the area,
The hot tub was a great thing to have and was well used, the only down side for us was the amount of ticks our dogs got when walking which we wasn't expecting ( maybe expected in such a rural place)
The Hunter inn pub were we ate a few times was especially good so would recommend them for a place to eat
Thank you for your lovely review. Annoyingly the ticks are more prevalent this year. We do recommend Bravecto or similar for your dog, it works very well.

"We had a lovely week in this delightful holiday cottage, nestled in a National Trust area."
So lots of lovely walks and a pub within walking distance that served delicious meals and they knew their allergy advice, too. A very spacious and comfortable home with a well equipped kitchen which was only missing an airfryer, as all other kitchen aids were provided. I'm not suggesting it needs an AF, but we did take one with us. Unfortunately we had heating issues on our arrival, but David, the owner, was amazing in providing coal and wood for the 3 fires, a friend with mobile radiators and a heating engineer on a late Saturday afternoon. We were so grateful for his response to our plight, as we had young babies and a 4yr old. The roads in and out of Trentishoe are narrow with passing places, so make sure you remember where the passing places are! The cottage is also ideally situated for visiting the coastal towns and villages and the larger supermarkets aren't too great a drive either. If you want to escape to a quiet and comfortable holiday home, you cannot go wrong with Trentishoe Combe. Thank you for our stay

"Unfortunately a beautiful home was spoilt by 2 cleaning and maintenance issues."
We had an issue with dishwasher leaking when we used it. We thought that it may be due to a blocked filter. As I have dishwasher at home I knew how to clean the bottom filter , what I found when I lifted the internal filter out of the bottom of machine was something that in my opinion had never been cleaned all season or even longer. It took me ages to clean the filters.
When we came to use the toaster for breakfast the crumb tray in the bottom also had not been cleaned as was full of old crumbs. These small things spoilt what was a perfect holiday. The location was ideal and the house was beautiful and we would not hesitate to holiday there again.
Dear Lynne
Thank you for your review.
I am so sorry that the filter hadn’t been cleaned in the dishwasher before your visit, we do take the cleaning very seriously and work incredibly hard to make sure the large home is perfectly clean for your arrival. We have 5 hours to clean the house from top to bottom, and the dishwasher is on the cleaning list, I’m sorry the filter had been missed this time.
Had you contacted me at the time I obviously would have come and resolved this problem.
You have only given us 25% for facilities, I would be very grateful if you would let me know what you think is missing.
Kindest regards
David

"Beautiful house, extremely comfortable and very well equipped."
My only complaint - it wasn't long enough. I have stayed in Devon quite a few times but the location of Trentishoe is by far the most beautiful.

"The location is amazing, ample parking place off the road was important for us, the house is beautiful with a character of its own and it was clean."
We were not able to use the hot tub which we were looking forward to due to too many flies that were falling in.
The only let down were the beds and pillows, I think there is good scope of improvement there. Also if there can be better towels and additional bath robs for hot tub use could add missing stars.

"Fantastic location and the property is old and new combined."
Nice friendly neighbour and plenty of wildlife in a serene environment. You need your own transport as location is remote. Road is very narrow next to the property and can be hazardous when crossing road to parking area. This is the only negative. Everything else was fantastic. Unusual to have such good wifi in a remote location, a big plus in our opinion
