  • "This is a beautiful spot."

    Quite remote and not easy to get in and out, out of season and in bad weather. However this is the pay off for such an extraordinary place. The apartment was exceptional. Clean, functional and very comfortable. The finish and decor were lovely. Countryside views were gorgeous. Thank you for such a magical week.

  • "I called Sykes on arrival as the property wasn't as described, there was a picture of the sea which looked like it was taken from the apartment but it was actually taken from a different apartment - really disappointing as we booked this apartment specifically for a sea view."

    I was told the lady would call me back but didn't receive a call back with a resolution. The hot water also went off on after the second day and we had to have cold showers on the Monday and Tuesday. Not great after a January swim in the sea! Apart from this, the apartment was terrific.

  • "Beautiful well equipped apartment which had everything we needed."

    Lovely quiet location, perfect for us and our baby. Only difficulty we encountered was that the lock on the entrance door was very difficult to open.

  • "Spectacular - from the quality of the accommodation to the setting."

    We had a wonderful time. The apartment faces onto beautiful open countryside to the front yet we were steps away from clifftop views to the rear where we sat and watched some beautiful sunsets. The only thing we would have wished for is faster broadband - it was very slow - but we know the owners are working on this. Thank you again.

    We are sorry the rural and remote broadband was an issue for you. After further investigation we have indeed now changed the broadband to a '4G' receiver (as used on your phone). This new reciever and router seems to reliably give 25+ Mb download - which is fine for streaming videos, doing video conferencing etc. Please let us know if any future problems. Property Owner

    Often blocked open by other occupiers but not really much you can do about that.Otherwise having stayed with you before you again met what we have come to expect from you .Well done

Spend the day in the resort town of Salcombe, home to attractions such as the Salcombe Maritime Museum and remains of Fort Charles, as well as a handful of charming pubs and excellent restaurants to wine and dine in.

Wander the exotic gardens of Overbeck's, now owned by the National Trust, or bask in the sunshine of Salcombe North Sands and Mill Bay whilst devouring a delicious portion of the local fish and chips.

The historical market town of Kingsbridge can be easily reached and offers a superb day out.

You could travel inland to Dartmoor Zoo or Woodlands Family Theme Park, a great day out for all.

Salcombe 7 miles; Bigbury-on-Sea 9 miles

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
