Mallacleave House

This house is beautiful we had an amazing holiday.

The kitchen is very well equipped and there are countless places to sit with a cuppa and take in the amazing views. Sykes were very helpful and quickly attended to the couple of problems we had. The only thing that I think should be made clear is that there is another property on the site and it is within in very close proximity to Mallacleave house. We had 3 small children which as you can imagine make a bit of noise and I felt as if I should quieten them for the sake of the other guests sitting on their patio trying to have a quite drink. We were luck as the other guests were happy to wave at the children but if you were unlucky with the other guests, I can see this might be a problem. Truth be told I probably wouldn't have booked it if I had know, which is why I guess its not made clear in the information. Slight mark down for cleanliness as the patio areas were not cleaned, I think maybe a leaf blower around these area would make a big difference for the arrival wow factor. Saying that we had a really amazing holiday and I'm so glad I did book Mallacleave House. Thank you to the owners for letting us enjoy their amazing home.

Really wonderful house with lots of space for a large party.

We had an issue with the WiFi and heating when we arrived but the response and resolution could not have been quicker. Well stocked kitchen.

The overall house was amazing.

A lovely all round view. I struggled with the hob top and cookers as iam use to gas, but got there in the end.my sister was 60 while we were there and was a fabulous place to stay for a birthday. Plenty of crockery and surfaces.The odd sweeky door.i would recommend it.most excellent.

Great property with fantastic views.

Excellent location for exploring North Devon. Loved the terraces, BBQ (which is ceramic egg style so take good charcoal) and of course the HUGE hot tub. However, there are other properties that share the garden and driveway which is not made clear on the listing. We were very lucky as the one closest to us was not let out. But if it was it would have been challenging as there isn’t a gate to separate the areas if travelling with dogs.

Fantastic venue.

We were a group of older friends for a get together over new year. Mallacleave House was everything we wanted for a fabulous time. We had two dogs with us who immediately settled into the amazing grounds. If we had any reason to complain it was the 5pm check in which was non negotiable. It was dark, all 3 vehicles, had the maps on but took many wrong turns due to many unlit lanes.

The holiday accommodation was fabulous, couldn't have been better.

Sykes on the other hand was awful! Trying to get in touch with them after the holiday was extremely frustrating. I had left a couple of expensive items at the property and wanted them sent on to me. I was quite willing to pay all costs, however, trying to speak to a human being proved impossible. So I am left with a message from a chat bot telling me the case was closed! No more booking with Sykes as they do not appear to have any human customer service.

We had a weeks holiday here in August and thought the House was absolutely stunning.

Really suited our needs and having the Hot tub was a really big bonus. It was very spacious for our Party of 8 and immaculately maintained. Games room was great fun to have too. We only have minor negatives - one being that we did not realise we were sharing the Property with another Dwelling. We also did not feel the garden should be classed as secure - we were supposed to be taking our deaf dog hence why this was so important to us but she passed away before we went. We do not feel it was wholly suitable for her so at least that was a small blessing. The Kitchen does have some handy items missing like weighing scales and alot of the pots, pans, plates etc were made of very heavy stone. As the dining room is the opposite end of the House to the Kitchen, be mindful that they need carrying and are even more heavier with food in them !!! The BBQ is not supplied with gas and is very expensive to purchase locally so we feel this should be listed as charcoal only or a bottle supplied so at least you only have to refill the gas but with the money you are paying for the accommodation, we felt it would have been nicer if gas was supplied. As I say, these are all minor things but, we feel, good to know, The House truly is amazing with stunning views and fairly isolated. Pretty well located too. Would definitely stay again oh and they also leave you a really lovely welcoming pack too.

Its beautiful didn't want to leave it.Had everything you needed for a perfect stay.

Superbly appointed property in an outstanding position above the town of Bideford.

The property is finished to a high standard and has great facilities. Outside area great for dogs to run around. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

as a family of ten adults we were expecting great things for 2900 pounds per week, we found a bbq with no gas, if you wanted gas you were expected to bring your own, not mentioned when advertising, zero cleaning products again you have to bring your own, no condiments or even a salt and pepper shaker, again bring your own, hot tub supposed to self clean self regulate ph balance yet by day three cloudy and un inviting, welcome pack has to be the smallest we've ever seen bearing in mind ten adults gardeners turned up unannounced on wednesday not friday as described not good if you are a female sunbathing and wanted privacy all in all for the money we wished we had chosen better so came away a little disappointed.

We had an amazing holiday staying at the beautiful Mallacleave House.

The only downside was the missing dart board and fire pit which are both advertised on the listing.

It's a very large and spacious property. Very clean and well equipped. We were lucky to have such lovely weather and enjoy the outside space. The balcony and gardens are beautiful with amazing views. This was a great base close to the town and some beautiful beaches. Would certainly return
