  • "It is a lovely spacious property which is why we decided to do a second holiday here in this particular apartment."

    However this time we found that the beds needed new mattresses as we found them uncomfortable. Toppers had been put on but this didn’t help sadly. If this can be sorted we will be back again!

  • "The property itself was spacious, comfortable and well stocked with required kitchen appliances etc."

    The view was stunning and the location was a suitable starting off point for our Devon based adventures. Our main frustration with the property was the lack of instructions on how to work the boiler and find the thermostat. This resulted in us spending the first 24 hours rather cold. The thermostat was behind the tv. We also hadn’t found instructions on where to find the switch to turn on the immersion heater. This meant from the 3-5th day we had limited to no hot water. In hindsight, we should have called Sykes customer support sooner as they resolved this second issue for us. We were just surprised that there wasn’t a pack to introduce us to the property. If there had have been, it would probably have enabled us to fix these problems for ourselves.

  • "Comfortable accommodation with everything we needed and lovely views."

    Arrival information needs changing, the apartment is marked as ‘penthouse A’ and not ‘l’horizon’ as stated, once we had established this we then presumed that car park space marked ‘A’ was ours but some clarification would have been helpful, just glad we did not arrive in the dark.

  • "L’Horizon is a fabulous apartment with wonderful views."

    It’s really spacious and comfortable. We had a fantastic week there. Couldn’t fault it and it’s very dog friendly. Thurlestone has a lovely beach with lots of walks from the door. The Village Inn does lovely food but best to book as it does get busy. We also had lunch at the golf club which is very good and the staff are so friendly. We have already rebooked for the same week next year that’s how amazing it is.

  • "Great holiday."

    Penthouse is huge ! lovely comfortable lounge . good balcony. comfortable beds. fab view's. Cleaning was ok . few cob web's and bit of dust behind sofas which are large, so not easiest to acesss. Only minor was family bathroom smelt musty, if you closed skylight .Was very dissapointed to find no milk ,on arrival or welcome gift. But we didnt let this dampen our holiday. Great parking too.

  • "The cleaning was not very good, particularly the common parts."

    We have been to this property 3 times before but we left 2 days early because of the wind noise and continual rain this time. We last went in February when there was a broken drawer in the bedside table and it still is broken.

  • "We couldn’t get the tvs to work in the kitchen or the bedroom but apart from that everything was lovely."

  • "We have stayed at Horizon before and do like the apartment, however this time there were small things that hadn’t been done, which in the main didn’t affect us massively, but it was disappointing to see the standards slipping."

    The small kids bedroom had no light bulb or lamp and used a completely non standard fitting so couldn’t be replaced. The front door handle was coming away and needed to be tightened back on. None of the clocks in the apartment had been changed and the heating was also an hour out. The place hadn’t been cleaned properly, we found bottle tops on the coffee tables and the dishwasher needed a good clean out. When emptying all of the bins, before leaving on Saturday, we discovered a half eaten sandwich in the master bedroom bin, which wasn’t ours. Overall we had a great holiday, but would recommend better attention to cleaning and preparation of the apartment before guests arrive.

  • "The apartment was beautiful, with lots of very interesting and stylish furnishings."

    The windows and balcony gave lovely views of the seascape and local countryside. When we arrived, we found everything we needed to cater for meals at the apartment and the whole place was clean and fresh. The local area offered great walks along the Devon Coast Path and short walks to excellent National Trust protected beaches. There were good pubgrub spots and beach cafes too, especially at Hope Cove and Thurlstone. We had such a great holiday with our son and would certainly visit the area and book a stay in this apartment again

    Lots of space for 4 adults to relax. Everything was maintained to a very high standard. Good location with views of the sea and golf course and spacious parking. Would definitely recommend!

  • "Thurlestone is a lovely place however the apartment was disappointing."

    The terrace had no cushions on the seating area. The chairs were metal and really uncomfortable to sit on so we hardly used the terrace area. Certain areas in apartment were dusty. The apartment was noisy at times with other people banging the doors below the apartment. The tv was in an unusual place , you could only watch it from one end of one of the sofas so we never used the other sofa in the apartment. The windows were hard to open. The gardens around the property needed work also. Disappointing overall but love the area.

  • "This is the one of the nicest holiday homes we’ve every stayed in."

    Absolutely spotless and extremely well equipped. Wonderful location, and with the dreadful storms we experienced this was the perfect place to spend time cosy indoors. We loved it! We would most definitely like to return here. Only criticism was the bunk room is only suitable for younger guests (not teenagers) due to the size of the room and lack of storage.

  • "The apartment is beautiful."

    It’s location is ideal with a nice walk to the beach or a little further and you can have the beach nearly to yourself! Ideal for 2 families as the bunk beds prove a little difficult for an adult. The only thing I’d say was the signal for the tv was terrible but thankfully we had fabulous weather so it was fine.
