The property

Hougoumont Cottage is a charming pet-friendly property in the village of Millbrook, situated in the popular county of Cornwall.

This cottage is perfect for a family or a group of friends looking for a getaway, as it boasts countryside views and is a short drive away from the beach.

Step foot into your new holiday abode and enter the lovely living and dining room.

Be the first to claim the corner sofa and sink into the furniture as you become used to your new, wonderful surroundings.

In the kitchen, you will find everything you need for a fine self-catered stay.

Cook up something tasty using the electric oven and gas hob.

Plate it up on the dining table and share some stories as you tuck in together.

If the sun is shining, then head out to the patio area to dine alfresco whilst looking out onto the stupendous greenery all around.

When the sun slowly but surely ebbs away, creating a golden sky that is replaced by the night, head back indoors.

Curl up on the corner sofa and all decide on what show to watch on the Smart TV for some evening entertainment.

If you fancy some peace, then have some alone time in the snug room, which has a sofa bed for convenient sleeping arrangements.

When it is time to get some rest, head upstairs to the three bedrooms.

A neatly presented double bed and two inviting twin rooms are on offer.

In the mornings, have a refreshing shower or a soak that will have you losing track of time ahead of planning another joyous day.

A shop is a short drive away for any essentials, and a pub is on your doorstep for a drink out.

When you fancy exploring your surroundings, have a wonderful stay out on the Whitsand Bay or Tregonhawke Beach, feeling the waves tickle your feet as you dare to dip in, go for a hike up Withnoe to see amazing views.

Head to Rame to take in the beauty of the Rame Head Heritage Coast, have a serene stroll along the cliffs and explore the historical St Michael's Chapel, which dates back to the 1300s.

Slightly further afield in Plymouth, get up close and personal with majestic sea creatures at the National Marine Aquarium, enjoy a live show at the Theatre Royal Plymouth or take in the river views whilst going on some rides in West Hoe Park.

A holiday everyone will be buzzing about awaits at Hougoumont Cottage.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £350.

MILLBROOK

  • Whitsand Bay 1 mile
  • Plymouth 8 miles

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.
