"Lovely place to stay, stunning distant views of the City of Plymouth over the Tamar."
The Lodge is clean, warm & comfortable with neatly everything you could need inside. Ideal area for walking but you can bus or drive to local villages. good friendly bar & restaurant on site. Parking just a few hundred yards away, walk up a gradual slope. Yes would recommend & possibly stay again in future. Minor gripes:- one single bed lacks headboard; bathmats for shower would be useful; outside patio/furniture needs a pressure wash clean.

"Had a lovely stay, great views, great facilities, warm and inviting."
Has everything we needed for two but would easily accommodate 4 guests. We’d have no qualms about returning for another week in this lovely property and take in more of the local sites.
I’m so glad you enjoyed trip. Do come back anytime. Thank you for your lovely feedback, Bw Mandy

"Clean and comfortable lodge in a fabulous location."
The wide and long sandy beach at Whitsand Bay is just a few steps away down a steep cliff path with a good cafe at the top. Lovely views overlooking the attractive village of Millbrook with the city of Plymouth in the background. Great coastal walks around Whitsand Bay, Rame Head, Cawsand, Kingsand, Mount Edgcumbe and Cremyll with spectacular views of Plymouth Sound, the Breakwater and Drake Island.

"Location on the site gives a magnificent view (weather permitting) out over Millbrook, the Tamar river and Plymouth in the distance, we were there in late December and most days woke to low cloud/mist."
The lodge was well presented and comfortable, living up to it's listing. Although we appreciated the thought behind the voucher for the Canteen at Marker Heights it was not used as we were too busy exploring the rest of Cornwall.
It was disappointing to find the base of the microwave covered in crumbs.
We were also surpised not to find a welcoming pack advising how things worked (never got to fathom out the thermoset programming but never went cold either), local health care, local eating establisments, places of interest, what to do at the end of the stay, etc.
As mentioned by other reviewers parts are in need of some minor TLC, we found that the lever operated plugs in both vanity sinks were in need of some adjustment to get them to the open position, althought as this was probably the last booking of the year it is not surprising that a little bit of refurbisment is required.
Taking Ollie for his morning walk, the trip all the way down to the beach and back would have been too much for his owner but if you start this trek, just below the Cliff Top cafe there is a small path off to the right which enables you to safely meander along the cliff face enabling views of the water and sand below before a short easy climb to the road which takes you back to the site.
We had a good meal in the onsite pub/restaurant on the first night but then tended to eat out in Kingsand (The Halfway House Inn)/Cawsand (The Bay Bar & Restaurant), all 3 places were dog friendly which is essential to us. There are a lot of narrow twisty roads in the area so take it slowly as you might encounter a small herd of deer coming the other way as we did one morning.
Would we book again - Yes.
Thank you so much for your useful feedback. Some refurbishment is certainly planned and an updated welcome pack. The thermostat is new and I must admit I haven’t mastered it myself…
I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip. Many thanks again. Bw Mandy

"Generally good, comfortable, clean and well provided."
Great wifi.
Some notes for the owner:
- lightbulbs need replacing with low-energy ones, some are missing altogether
- we couldn't make subtitles work on the TV
- info about recycling / rubbish would be useful
- heating controller needs new batteries (I fitted one to make it just work)
- most importantly the exterior woodwork needs some protection applied urgently to prevent deterioration

"We had a lovely relaxing holiday in this very comfortable lodge."
It was very clean and homely and we loved siting on the decking looking at the view. There were just a couple of very small things: There were quite a few light bulbs that needed replacing including the outside lights and the smaller sofa was quite uncomfortable but none of this distracted from our stay. The location is great, very quiet especially off season, which we wanted. The site is well maintained and the pub was really welcoming, dog friendly and the food was exceptional. It is worth noting there is no shop anyway within walking distance and although there is a co op in Millbrook it is a single track road to get there or 20 mins drive the long way, so bring some basics if arriving late. The other thing I wish we had known was that although the beach is right opposite the site the walk down to it is very very steep so not easy to do quickly or too often if you have a dog who is beach mad and wants to go to it at least twice a day!! The slightly easier path is within the MOD firing range so not accessible all the time. All in all we would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your really useful feedback. I’ll sort out the lightbulbs as soon as possible. I will add details of the steep walk to the beach and the benefits of bringing some basics if arriving late. I’m so glad you enjoyed the location and views. Best wishes
