  • "The houses are both spotlessly clean and the beds very comfy."

We struggled with a lack of storage facilities in both the kitchens and bedrooms. The kitchens only have base units which are full of the items provided by the host - everything you can think of has been provided but there isn't any space to put any of your own food items which means things are piled up on the worktops which isn't ideal. The biggest gripe is that both kitchens only have an under counter fridge each with a tiny box freezer. Not an issue if you plan on eating out a lot but for a large family who planned on cooking a lot, and who did a big shop before arriving, it was very disappointing. For a property that size that sleeps that many people, there is more than enough space for a full size fridge freezer in each. It meant we had to keep food and drinks in cool boxes for the duration of our two week stay. One of the properties has double wardrobes in both bedrooms but the other only has a single wardrobe in each - we found there wasn't enough space for our things which was frustrating. Again the property is enormous - there is more than enough space for some more furniture. There is a toy box with toys and jigsaws which our children appreciated. They also had a ride on the tractor and looked at the farm animals. There is plenty of space outside for the kids to play. The area is beautiful for walks and trips to the beaches nearby (Lyme, Charmouth, Seaton and Beer). We also expected Sykes to clean the property given we were there for two weeks but that didn't happen. We did receive clean bedding and towels after a week after raising the issue but we were expected to strip and change the beds ourselves. Again very disappointing given the price of the property.

  • "Although we had a rather unpleasant experience with the outside of the property on arrival this was rectified by the property owner within 24 hours!"

The bungalows were perfect for our family group of 6 adults and 2 young children. We would have preferred more storage space in the bedrooms but overall we enjoyed our stay. The bungalows are situated in a good location to enable you to explore the lovely Jurassic coastline. Although the weather could have been kinder to us this did not hinder our very enjoyable days and evenings out in Devon/Dorset. We would certainly recommend to any large family group especially if you need some occasional family space during your holiday.

Thank you for your comments we are glad you had an enjoyable stay. We are sorry the water drain became blocked -it has never happened before and hopefully is now remedied. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely property that is very clean, well appointed and airy, in a beautiful, secluded location that is still very handy for Lyme Regis and River Cottage restaurant."

There is plenty of information on how to use the appliances, nice deep baths, and lots of games to play if the weather turns. We found the WiFi a bit patchy though at times (generally good), and found it difficult to control the temperature of the underfloor heating in the twin bedroom, which became too hot overnight for comfort. These were minor issues though from a wonderful stay - thanks.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased you had a lovely time. Thank you also for letting us know about the heating in the twin bedroom. We have had this fixed now. Thank you Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at the cottages!"

Would highly recommend to friends and family. The cottages are super spacious and perfect for family time. Great location for all the tourists spots. The owners are lovely and showed us some animals from the farm before we left.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We hope you will come again, though we can’t promise a deer in the garden !!! Property Owner

  • "As a family we had a wonderful stay at Hargrove Farm Bungalow last week!"

The bungalow is perfectly nestled in a peaceful, countryside setting, offering a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Yet, close to all the tourist spots. The bungalow itself consists of two separate units in an L-shape that were perfect for a large family. The sleek, contemporary design of the bungalows perfectly complement the serene farm surroundings. Inside, both bungalows are all the latest amenities, including two fully equipped kitchens, stylish furnishings, and spacious living areas. The modern touches, from chic décor to high-tech facilities, ensure a luxurious stay. The hosts have truly created an ideal escape, balancing modern convenience with the tranquility of farm life. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful yet sophisticated retreat!
