"Our second time in this apartment and it is superb."

Everything you need for a comfortable stay is on hand. The views from the balcony are wonderful. Highly recommend using The Deck for dinner. Dave (chef) is really accommodating and the food is delicious…we ate there every night. Take a trip to Salcombe on the Kingsbridge ferry for a pleasant day out. We hope to return!

"This was one of the best properties we have ever stayed in."

The apartment is so comfortable and equipped with everything you need and more. The views are amazing whatever the weather. The location could not be better. The food at the onsite cafe was lovely and the staff were so welcoming. The sunsets were beautiful. We can’t wait to come back again.

"Beautiful apartment with lovely views of sea and beach - also from the balcony a view of the iconic Burgh Island."

The apartment was ideal for our stay with lovely furnishings . Parking was secure and although we didn’t use it, an indoor swimming pool. Our daughter had stayed in the apartment few weeks ago, and it was on her recommendation that we decided to visit also. We were not disappointed .

"Absolutely lovely clean apartment and with lovely decor and balcony view which we enjoyed looking out from even though the weather was really wet and windy most of the week it was great to have the opportunity to see changing tides from the apartment."

I took my elderly parents to stay here and the only comment I would make is the appliances are great but also hi tech and difficult to use for senior people and maybe an easy instruction sheet how to use the hob/oven would be helpful to future guests ad also to fix the flashing light in the main bedroom wardrobe. The Deck cafe was great food and Dave the owner very accommodating in food requests. It was a very relaxing stay in this lovely apartment and thank you for having us!

"Great apartment in an ideal position for the excellent sandy beach it faces."

Clean apartment with high end appliances and comfortable furnishings, really nice balcony to watch the sea from. There was a bit of a strange smell in the master bedroom and no hot water for the first 24 hours but it was otherwise perfect. We enjoyed playing beach cricket, then heading to the Pilchard Inn for a drink till the causeway was covered so we could come back in the sea tractor. On days the weather was not so good it was excellent having the pool for the kids to enjoy, and the cafe downstairs has a fantastic chocolate and banana bread and butter pudding.

"Really fabulous setting and the apartment was very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need."

Comfy beds, good shower and plenty of space to relax. The icing on the cake is the balcony with amazing views of the sunset and constantly changing outlook with the movement of the tide. So good that we’ve already booked again for next year! Yes, the internet is slow, but that’s a minor issue, with so much else to see and do. Highly recommend the on site restaurant, Matt cooked us some delicious meals. We also ate lunch at the Venus cafe, the Greek salad was great. Just one point that needs attention - the light in the double room wardrobe is faulty, it was flashing constantly when the door was open. Tricky for migraine or epilepsy sufferers. Thank you to the owners for providing us with a superb location for our holiday.

"Wow what a stunning apartment."

Everything about the apartment was spot on. If I had to pick up on a couple of very minor points, some outside of control of the owners it would be the mobile signal, its poor and the knock on effect is on huge WiFi and digital tv in the property. Sky tv in lounge was fine but could not get the other tv’s to work and hopeless to even try to stream anything. Also could probably benefit from some fans or aircon. Kooker tap also not working. With a classy apartment like this may also benefit from a king size bed apart from just a double. Apart from these apartment was awesome

"This apartment is beautiful and spacious - amazing views over the beach and Burgh Island."

Spotlessly clean and every item of equipment anyone could need is available. All equipment supplied is of high quality - the wine cooler is a lovely touch. The beds and sofas were really comfortable, and the en suite bathroom/shower rooms are lovely. So many nice added touches to make it feel more like you a trusted guest in someone's home, rather than a holiday let. Everything was exactly as shown in the photo's - very well maintained and tasteful. Absolutely no complaints at all about the apartment or anything in it. We didn't want to leave. The only issue we had was communication with Sykes, because of the wifi and mobile signal. The wifi was very slow, and for a few days was too slow to use. We are all on the same mobile network and so none of us had any signal. This made it difficult and very frustrating to communicate with Sykes. Although they were informed (several times) over WhatsApp and email that we didn't have mobile signal, they took days to reply, and then did so by voicemail, which we couldn't pick up. Issues could have been sorted out if they had replied sooner by the methods we had suggested. Sykes should have a faster response team for their clients who are already on holiday and therefore need assistance in less than 3 days.

"A beautifully equipped apartment."

Everything was of such good quality. However, there is mould in the en-suite shower and also on the top reveal of the window in the lounge. Hope this helps

Apartment 18, Burgh Island Causeway is a fabulous, first-floor apartment overlooking the beach in Bigbury-On-Sea, Devon.

Bigbury-on-Sea is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is ideal for family holidays. Dusted with sand and lapped by shallow waters, the beach offers safe fun for groups particularly if you’ve got children in tow. In addition, Bigbury-on-Sea beach is dotted with rock pools, so there’s plenty of entertainment for budding marine biologists.
