We found Horsemans Barn to be exactly what we needed during a very difficult time while my sister was undergoing surgery.

Horsemans Barn became a little sanctuary for us all, with beautiful fields to walk around with such a peaceful atmosphere. The table tennis was also a welcoming distraction from such a stressful time. Kathryn & Andrew were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, regularly checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Their kindness made us feel so well looked after during a very emotional week. What made our stay even more special was that my sister was able to come and spend some time at the barn during her recovery. She immediately felt comfortable, relaxed and calm. It was definitely the welcoming space that she also needed. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the garden was a lovely place to sit and unwind with a glass of wine or a coffee in the morning. Everything about Horsemans Barn was perfect for our needs, and we are so grateful for the care and comfort we experienced there. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.

Thank you for a great week at Horseman’s Barn.

It was great to be able to walk safely and easily into Kingsbridge whilst having the advantages of a bit more space, parking, lots of outdoor space and countryside views that West Alvington gave us. We were super lucky with the weather, being there in a heatwave. The downstairs bedrooms kept reasonably cool and there was always options for shade or sun in the enclosed garden. We also had fun playing table tennis on the open garden. The house was clean and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. Communications with the owner were very friendly. Thanks for a lovely week.

Lovely cottage.

Well located. Accurate listing. Exciting driveway(!). Well furnished. Comfortable bedroom. A few minor suggestions: Would have liked some coathooks by the door in the living area. The access door by the kitchen needs attention - we sometimes struggled to lock it. We found the sofa bed somewhat uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Would be useful to have somewhere to put a hand towl by the washbasin. The shower controller for the overhead / handheld rose was really difficult to turn. The bathroom towel rail needs refixing to the wall as it is hanging loose. All minor niggles really.
