  • "Our. Short stay at Barn cottage was ideal, a nice compact accommodation for 2 people situated ideally for exploring both sides of the Cornish coast."

Karen was very helpful and informative and a very pleasant person. This is not a criticism but a suggestion that a small side / coffee table would be helpful to put your drinks on when sitting on the sofa and relaxing .

  • "What a fabulous place to stay!"

On arrival a pint of milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the table! So clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the quietness at night and we were able to relax in our home from home! Visited by two beautiful cats each morning. Even though it was close to Dobwalls and a short journey to the A38 for our day trips, we were in the middle of the quiet countryside! Thank you Karen and Barry.

It was our pleasure having you here and we are glad you enjoyed your time with us - the cats loved their cuddles with you! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review Property Owner

A tip for free parking was very helpful. Let us stay a little longer before checking out so we could watch some of King Charles 111 accession ceremony. I would highly recommend the property.

  • "Delightful location with all the facilities you could wish for."

Most impressed by how clean & polished everything was when we arrived - if only all cottages and hotels were as good! The cottage was perfectly located to act as a base for an area of Cornwall that we had missed out in our previous visits. We thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful week at Barn Cottage. It might be worth warning the arthritic/unfit (like me) that if you are tall and if you have difficultly getting up and down, you might find the sofa and chairs rather low - but this should be no problem for most people!

The cottage is very clean, well stocked with kitchen utensils and fluffy towels - all the extras that make a trip away better. Due to its location it’s very dark and quiet at night so good for sleeping, but close enough to the A38 so that the attractions of Cornwall are within easy reach.

  • "Barn Cottage is in a lovely location."

Peaceful and quiet, except for the occasional train on the nearby line. Karen and Barry made us feel at home, and were helpful with information on nearby facilities and places to visit. The cottage is well laid out and decorated beautifully. It was great to sit outside with a coffee and see the view over the adjacent meadow. The farmyard and railway memorabilia in the courtyard gives a nice rural touch to the surroundings. The cottage is located in central Cornwall with easy access to the coastal region north or south via the nearby A38 and A30. Highly recommended.

I felt perfectly safe there on my own. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and they went out of their way to ensure I got the best out of my stay, Barn cottage is brilliantly located for easy access to the whole of Cornwall and I would recommend this cottage and would go back myself. The directions provided were very accurate and I found the property really easily. I did notice the trains but I think that’s because I live in the country and am not used to the noise, it wasn’t intrusive. A brilliant little cottage that’s just a perfect retreat after a busy day sight seeing.
