Wagtail Cottage is a newly built four bedroom home, offering stylish contemporary living within easy reach of Lyme Regis’ historic town and coastline. Beautifully arranged over three floors, it has been finished to an impressive standard, with a focus on quality, comfort and understated style throughout. Perfectly suited to families or groups of friends, the property also welcomes one well‑behaved dog, making it a great base for a relaxed coastal stay.
The ground floor is designed for sociable living, with an open‑plan layout that brings together a well‑equipped kitchen, dining area and relaxed sitting space. The kitchen is fitted with a range of integrated appliances, while the sitting area is centred around a large wall‑mounted Smart TV. Doors open out to a private decked courtyard, where a generous table and chairs provide an ideal spot for alfresco dining, set against the characterful backdrop of an original Dorset stone wall. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer for added convenience.
Upstairs, the accommodation is arranged across two floors. On the first floor are three well‑proportioned bedrooms, including a spacious super king and two comfortable twin rooms, along with a family bathroom featuring both a bath and a separate walk‑in shower. The top floor is dedicated to the principal bedroom — a generous super king suite with a sleek ensuite wet room and views stretching across the rooftops towards the sea.
Outside, guests benefit from two allocated parking spaces and an electric vehicle charging point. The property has also been thoughtfully designed with modern energy‑efficient features, helping to ensure a comfortable stay throughout the seasons.
Situated just a short stroll through Lyme Regis’ charming old town, Wagtail Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the town’s independent shops, seafront and beaches. Known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis sits at the heart of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, famed for its dramatic scenery, fossil‑rich shoreline and the iconic Cobb harbour. Days can be spent discovering coastal walks along the South West Coast Path, enjoying boat trips from the harbour, or simply relaxing on the beach, while a little further afield there are excellent day trips to enjoy — from the unique Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens to the ever‑popular Donkey Sanctuary at nearby Sidmouth.

We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the accommodation.
There were four in our party. The house is extremely well appointed and fitted out; we all felt it to be the best equipped holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. Apart from an indoor broom nothing was lacking (although there is a Miele vacuum cleaner in the hall cupboard, I would have like a broom for sweeping up after meals and food prep etc). The equipment, fixtures were all to a high standard, and very practical. Everything we needed for cooking, laundry or leisure was provided. At the back of the house there is a securely enclosed decked area that can only be accessed through the house. There is a patio table with seating for eight, and two wooden lounge chairs. A hose is provided for cleaning down if necessary. A lot of thought and consideration has gone into the design and equipping of the property - there is even a charger for electric vehicles, and parking for two vehicles, although one space is slightly shorter so two large cars might be tricky. The location is perfect for easy access to the town centre, beach, museums etc. In short I highly recommend this property.
Very comfortable and spacious accommodation.
Convenient location to walk to the town/seafront. Bonus of parking at the front of the property. We enjoyed our stay here with everything you need.
Excellent place to stay.
Easy access, good parking, close to town centre and seafront, all equipment of good quality and cleanliness very good indeed. Only adverse comment of facilities was the wet room shower. On the only occasion we used it, most of the en-suite got wet, including our towels, it desperately needs a shower curtain or screen.
