The property

Long Barn is a welcoming thatched cottage nestled in the village of Burton Bradstock, in Dorset.

Ideal for families and friends seeking a coastal getaway, this pet‑friendly abode features proximity to a beach and serene river vistas.

Pull up and make use of the off‑road parking before stepping straight into the conservatory, where rustic stone walls, tiled flooring and comfortable seating create an inviting first space to pause after your journey or enjoy a quiet coffee.

From here, the conservatory leads directly into the kitchen and dining area, making it easy to gather around the breakfast bar as pancakes are served straight from the hob, take a moment at the window seat, and move naturally between preparing meals and sitting down together in the dining area.

Nearby, the bright sitting room offers a comfortable place to unwind, with carpeted flooring, a sofa and armchairs arranged for relaxed evenings spent watching TV or chatting after a day outdoors.

Upstairs, the landing is decorated with artwork and leads to the bedrooms and bathroom, with a twin bedroom featuring a partial sloping ceiling, soft carpeting and countryside views, while the spacious double bedroom enjoys views of the River Bride flowing under the bridge, creating a peaceful setting to wake up to and unwind at the end of the day.

The bathroom includes a bath, basin and WC, ideal for slower evenings, while the ground‑floor shower room adds everyday convenience with a walk‑in shower, basin, WC and washing machine.

Outside, the garden features a patio with furniture, giving you space to sit out and enjoy the fresh Dorset air.

For days out by the coast, Hive Beach is ideal for fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast, long shoreline walks with dramatic cliffs, and unhurried time by the sea.

For an engaging indoor option, Bridport Museum offers interactive exhibits, hands‑on displays and local history that appeal to both adults and children alike.

For a change of pace, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens provide sheltered walks through exotic planting, winding paths to explore at a relaxed pace and elevated viewpoints with far‑reaching coastal scenery.

After days spent exploring Dorset’s coastline and countryside, return to Long Barn to settle in, switch off and enjoy time together in this characterful village retreat.
