Harbins Farm is an impressive detached farmhouse set in the Dorset countryside just outside Sherborne, near the sought after village of Glanvilles Wootton, dating back around 200 years, sympathetically refurbished throughout to create an impressive holiday home, perfect for memorable family gatherings or relaxed stays with friends.
The result is a beautifully balanced home that retains its country character while offering spacious, contemporary living with a number of stylish, well thought out touches throughout.
The heart of the house is the generous open-plan living and dining space, designed for both everyday living and entertaining.
A large dining table sits comfortably within the space, complemented by a woodburning stove that adds warmth and character.
The adjoining kitchen is particularly striking, fitted with marble worktops, a large range cooker, integrated appliances and an island that works equally well for casual dining or preparation.
From here, the layout flows naturally into the main sitting room, again featuring a woodburning stove, and onward into a light filled garden room with patio doors opening directly onto the gardens beyond.
Practicality has been carefully considered, with a utility and boot room providing space for laundry appliances, along with a ground floor cloakroom.
Underfloor heating runs throughout the property, ensuring year round comfort.
Also on the ground floor is a self contained area ideal for guests or multi generational living, comprising a twin bedroom with zip/link beds which can be configured as a super king if preferred, an en suite shower room, along with a second sitting room and a useful kitchenette with breakfast bar and doors opening onto the garden.
Stairs lead to the first floor, where a spacious landing with glass balustrading connects four further bedrooms.
The principal bedroom is a king-size room with an en-suite shower room, complemented by a further king-size bedroom with an iron bedstead, a comfortable double bedroom and a twin room.
These are served by an elegant and spacious family bathroom with bath, separate shower, wash basin and WC.
Outside, the gardens are a particular highlight.
South facing and thoughtfully landscaped with lawns, mature trees and pretty planting, they enjoy open countryside views and are bordered by a small brook that gently runs through the grounds.
A large garden room at the rear provides an ideal spot to relax and take in the surroundings.
Ample parking is available for up to five cars.
Harbins Farm occupies an idyllic location, well placed for exploring some of Dorset’s most appealing attractions.
There are footpaths on the doorstep and you can use these to walk to two local pubs and less than a mile to a farm shop and cafe.
Sherborne is close by with its historic abbey, independent shops and cafés, while the iconic Cerne Abbas Giant, Minterne House and Gardens, and numerous local walking and riding routes are all within easy reach.
The Jurassic Coast is also readily accessible, with Ringstead Bay, Durdle Door and stretches of the South West Coast Path offering memorable days out by the sea.

Awesome place to stay.
Comfortable and warm and cosy. Photos don’t do it justice.
Extremely nice spacious accommodation in a quiet location which was spotlessly clean.
The kitchen was very well equipped which made catering for ourselves easy. We had some good weather during our stay and were able to enjoy the garden as well as nice walks straight from the property. It is well located for visiting Sherborne, Dorchester and the coast. The owners were very helpful and friendly and live just a short distance away. We would definitely recommend!
We were a family group of ten adults (and 2 dogs) and we all really enjoyed our stay at Harbins Farm.
It is in a lovely rural location and we enjoyed a walk from the house on one day and a day in Sherborne on the other. The house is very well equipped and there is a large sitting room which accommodated us well in the evenings. The weather wasn’t great so we did not use the garden which we would have liked to have done. I(t has several different sitting areas but it is not fully enclosed so we had to watch the dogs while they were out.) Check in and out was very smooth, and we all agreed it was a fabulous stay! Thank you!
