  • "My brother and I really enjoyed our stay at Dolphin Cottage - just 5 mins walk from the harbour, nice new carpets, comfy beds and 2 parking spaces was great."

Lovely cottage. There were a few issues and there were things that weren’t provided which we would change/would have liked. There were no full length mirrors in the bedrooms which was annoying for me, just one downstairs. I want to check my whole appearance before going downstairs. Plus if you have, say, a stoma fitted, you’d want a full length mirror in your bedroom to help you. There also was no wardrobe in the main bedroom, just an open “wardrobe” and I couldn’t hang my dresses up without them creasing. No tv in the bedrooms either which would have been nice - more of later! The tv downstairs was old and quite small - we could not watch “normal” tv, ie I wanted to watch Corrie and Gogglebox but couldn’t get ITV, Ch4 or any of the other stations! Very annoying. Also there was no draining rack by the sink - not everyone wants to use a dishwasher. On arrival at the cottage, the back door could not be locked and we had to call Dream Cottages to get someone out to mend it. I can’t believe this wasn’t an issue before we stayed which is rather worrying. The keysafe is very complicated to use and retrieve the keys (instructions were not clear) and I feel there should be two sets of keys provided (didn’t want to put them in the key safe as quite confusing!). The welcome book did not list many places to eat, ie higher end restaurants, fish and chip shops etc - could have been far more informative. Also a map of the walking route to the harbour etc would have been helpful. If these things were addressed I’d have given it 10/10. Thank you.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Dolphin Cottage."

The property was clean, comfortable and quiet and just a short stroll to the waterfront. Our only minor criticism would be the small ice box in the fridge is starting to build up a lot of ice limiting what can be put in so could do with defrosting. But overall we had a great stay and were incredibly lucky with the weather.

Thank you for the positive feedback and pleased you had a good time at Dolphin cottage. We noted the feedback on the ice box and have sorted this. Thanks, Nicky Property Owner
