Dolphins Leap was a very clean and comfortable place to stay.

The area was just full of beautiful views, which comes at a cost of very steep hills. The bungalow had everything we needed to make our holiday a very relaxing time. It would have been nice to have had a fan supplied as it was so hot.

Nick is a fantastic host, the welcome pack was amazing.

We had a beautiful 7 day stay and enjoyed it immensely. Perfect cottage to explore Dorset and Devon.

Very clean, very comfortable, Nick had thought of everything you might need and even the things you didnt know you needed. Lovely welcoming basket which was a nice surprise, Nick even made a special courtesy call to make sure everything was ok which was lovely. Views are spectacular and pool table is an added bonus! We had a fabulous holiday, Dolphin Leap was a joy to stay in and would highly recommend!

An amazing property.

Beautiful surroundings, a perfect place to relax and recharge. It was nice and clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are such lovely people. My only problem being the difficulty to speak to a person at Sykes Cottages.

We felt very relaxed at Dolphins Leap, which was comfortable, spacious and clean.

The welcome hamper full of delicious local produce was a lovely touch also the fresh flowers in a vase. The house is well equipped and dog friendly. We enjoyed beautiful weather during our stay, and we made full use of the conservatory and decking area and fully secure garden. With walks from the door, either down the hill to the beach or opposite direction towards the golf course, the dogs loved it too, to return to the house and relax in the quiet surroundings was just bliss. Nick the owner has spent considerable time putting together an informative folder with recommendations of things to do and places to eat, as well as personal dog friendly recommendations, which were really useful. We loved Dorset, and loved Dolphins Leap

What a lovely spot, the bungalow being situated in a quiet residential area at the top of a steep hill with a good view of the sea and Golden Cap.

If you like walking, the path to Lyme Regis goes right past the house, or if you are coming up from Charmouth, you can toil steeply up past some expensive looking houses. Or of course, you can let the car take the strain! As mentioned in other reviews, the welcome pack was exceptional, full of local products. A shame other houses do not take note! The bungalow catered for four OK, comfortable and warm, with a large sun room and large views. We enjoyed our week immensely.

This is our sixth Sykes holiday and a big shout out to the company.

We have found their property descriptions accurate and the booking system top drawer. Dolphins Leap was another great find. It's a lovely property that is well cared for and every need of guests has been thought of. Nick, the owner, called in to make sure we were comfortable (we were). The welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. We plan to return and highly recommend this dog friendly property.

A perfect stay at Dolphins Leap.

The welcome basket was brilliant , quality ingredients and very generous. The layout of the bungalow was perfect for the three of us and our dogs, very clean and comfortable. The garden and patio was fantastic and very dog friendly. It is at the top of a very steep hill, but this allows for the fantastic views and sounds of nature.

This was our second stay at Dolphin's Leap.

We had had to delay our holiday but it was well worth waiting for! The weather was excellent and it was lovely to be able to eat outside and enjoy the wonderful views from the garden. It was so nice to have a visit from Nick, the owner, he made us feel very welcome and it is obvious that he genuinely cares that his guests have a great experience. This is an excellent base for visiting our favourite area. We will definitely rebook and highly recommend this excellent place. Thank you for another wonderful holiday.

Have been before.

We always have a nice holiday at Dolphins Leap and so has our little dog as it is completely dog safe in the back garden. Nice views of the lovely countryside and sea.

This is a beautiful place to stay, the town and especially the beach are lovely.

Nick the owner is on hand if needed. The garden is very secure and we'll kept. The drive is more than ample for 2 suvs. Views are stunning, would recommend anyone to stay here.

Dolphins Leap is a very welcoming cottage that feels like a home, not a holiday let (a good thing).

It has the most fabulous view of Stonebarrow and Golden Cap. We have a dog who can be a bit of an escape artist, so it was excellent to find the garden is very secure. There is lots of parking. Nick the owner came to check we were happy and he also provided a very thoughtful welcome basket and fresh flowers on the dining room table, which was a lovely touch. There are lots of birds and wild life and the cottage itself encourages eco-friendly living. All in all, we had a great week. Thanks Nick.

A comfortable detached bungalow in a secluded & very quiet corner of Charmouth.

The privacy & natural surroundings were ideal for us.

We enjoyed our stay at Dolphin’s Leap very much.

We found everything we needed at the property and it worked really well for us. The view from the patio is stunning and the garden perfect for humans and dog! We appreciated the welcome package - especially the ginger biscuits! Charmouth is a charming village; we loved the bakery which I can definitely recommend. Our favourite pub/restaurant was the Hunter’s Lodge in Axminster. Would definitely recommend.

Nice quiet location.

Accommodation all very good, no issues. Appreciated the Owner making contact to ensure we were content etc, which we were.

Property very tired.

And needs TLC. Door handles need sorting. I got hand swahed and bruised badge trying to open bedroom door where handles. Doors stick. Likewise French doors stick probably just some adjusting. Sofa well past sell by date with springs gone anx throws hiding stains and dirt over sofa. Garden over grown. Again jusf needs someone to cut back bushes. When paying top prices fod a Property you expect things to be high end. This property most certainly isn't up to scratch. Verg disappointed.

A really lovely bungalow with spectacular views.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable without being so pristine you’re afraid to touch anything. My mum has restricted mobility (walks with sticks) and managed well (we did bring her loo surround and portable grips for the shower.) Loved the property & the area, would definitely consider going back.

Dolphins Leap is a real gem.

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday and Christmas here. Everything that we could possibly need was provided and the bungalow is comfortable and maintained to a very high standard. We were grateful for the generous welcome basket. It was a really nice surprise on arrival. A visit from the owner on Christmas morning was lovely and much appreciated. Our two dogs enjoyed the very secure garden. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked another visit before we left. We are now looking forward to returning in May.

Great location with very good sea view.

The welcome pack was very nice and the owner called by to check all was ok. The property was clean with a well equipped kitchen. The garden is enclosed which was ideal for the dog who even had dog treats in the welcome pack.

Wonderful holiday property with fabulous views, a home from home.

Very clean and comfortable, excellent parking and generous welcome pack. Up on the hill overlooking Charmouth, so be prepared for a hike back up. But also easy to park down by the beach. Well enclosed garden for dogs and lovely decking with table and seating area to take in the sublime view. Would highly recommend.

Such a lovely place to stay.

From the perfectly assembled welcome pack on arrival to the amazing location on the cliffs above Charmouth, we really couldn't fault our stay at Dolphins Leap, apart from not seeing any dolphins. The property is exactly as advertised and has a very secure garden for our four legged member of the family. The very large and comfortable conservatory offers amazing views of Charmouth and the coastline to the East. Two large bathrooms, which are well lit, are great for families. The large selection of books, board games, jigsaws and pool table are also a great bonus for when the weather isn’t so good. There’s a lovely walk right outside the front door which takes you along the cliff tops towards Lyme Regis, although is rather steep going in places. We would definitely recommend the fish and chip shop in Charmouth, although placing your order on line early in the morning is recommended. The Royal Oak pub in Charmouth is very dog friendly but rather small so book your table early if you want to eat there. We would definitely recommend the Sunday lunch which was delicious. The staff are also very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, extra jugs of gravy supplied when asked for. The owner wasn’t able to visit us during our stay but texted us to make sure everything was ok, which was nice. We would definitely look to stop here again at some point in the future.

An excellently equipped house with an unparalleled, stunning panorama from the terrace.

Very kind and considerate owner, great service. Superb location, with hiking trails starting almost right at the doorstep. It was hard for me to leave.

Best holiday let we have ever stayed in, one drawback was it is at the top of a very steep hill, we walked down to the Royal Oak pub for Sunday lunch which was very good, we then got a taxi back up the hil

The views were amazing, the garden was lovely and safely enclosed.

We loved all the wild birds and enjoyed sitting out. There was everything we needed and lovely flowers and a welcome hamper. We definitely hope to come back.

We had a wonderful holiday at Dolphin's Leap despite very variable autumnal weather.

The bungalow had wonderful views, a great location and was very comfortable and warm on the chilly mornings. We appreciated the welcome basket and beautiful flowers and meeting the helpful host and felt at home as soon as we arrived. We loved the peace too and would highly recommend this property, we will definitely be returning.

A beautiful bungalow with amazing views down to Charmouth.

The property had everything we needed and lots more beside. The armchairs were unusually comfortable for a rental property and the heating was very efficient the one evening we needed to turn it up. The hill is very steep for older people so we usually went out in the car. However it was worth the effort to walk up to the top for the wonderful view down to Lyme Regis.

I booked the cottage at short notice as my stay in England is longer than planned. A great place to catch up with family, and has amazing views of the sea and countryside. Will certainly come back and stay again.

Conservatory doors need tlc

Lovely bungalow, beautiful garden and views.

Clean and comfortable. Only comment - my son noticed the decking needed some attention but my son pointed this out to owner on his visit. Would love to visit again some time.

A lovely cottage up on the hill above Charmouth.

The owner called to check we were ok on the second day and had left gorgeous flowers and perfect hamper. Great arrangements for recycling everything.

We found dolphins leap easily and arrived after dark.

Follow the website instructions (take right fork on old lyme hill), then after the last street light on the right it is 5 properties further up on the left. Our cars headlights picked up the dolphins leap sign on the front garden retaining wall easily. My partner has worked in the cleaning industry for 30 years and specialises in finding important areas which havent been cleaned. There are none at dolphins leap. The welcome pack is generous, best i've ever had and even included treats for our dog. The bungalow itself has central heating and a log burner. We visited in November and did not need to light the fire as the main central heating kept us warm, even in the conservatory, which has sea views. It is one of the best rental properties i have used. Theres a TV and dvd player (we didnt use them as we dont go on holiday to watch TV), plenty of games, books, local maps and even a pool/snooker table. Charmouth beach is walkable which our dog loved. It is on a hill, however the gradient on the left fork of old lyme hill is shallower and it joins the right fork at the top, so we walked that way back to the property from the Royal Oak, which has great beer, food, allows dogs and is far more reasonably priced that the pubs in lyme regis. Lyme Regis itself is only a 10 minute drive and there are many other places of interest to visit all within 30 mins. Its a great base to explore the jurassic coast. We loved it and will return in the future

No bin bags and other such items left.

T V very small Cold in conservatory Not very clean Tiles needed cleaning around sink. Position of property not realistic. Hard to find property . Name plaque positioned to low and to small. Would not recommend or return to this property.

A lovely property which is probably the best equipped of any we've stayed in and the welcome pack was wonderful.

The only probable negative was that the conservatory was cold in the evenings. Could do with more heating in that room.

Very comfortable and pleasant stay.

Great views of the coast. The bonus for us was being able to have our dog with us. Though the pubs and amenities of the village are only 5 to 10 minutes walk away the return journey is not for anyone who is infirmed like myself. No worry’s we had the car. The best feature was the south facing night time views with dark skys so glad I packed my telescope, viewing and photographing Saturn, Jupiter and the Andromeda Galaxy.

It was a lovely, comfortable cottage with a great view of the bay from the verandah. There were more facilities than we had expected and this made for a relaxing stay. We would definitely visit again.

Lovely property,beautiful views.

Fantastically clean.Secure rear garden meant we could all relax.Probably more aimed at family of 4-e.g.4x outdoor dining chairs so the 5 of us couldn't all eat outside together,& larger/2nd sunshade might be good for future heatwaves so more than1 or 2 could sit out in shade.Lovely big master bedroom with oversized wardrobe, artwork & mirror- but small double bed! (Went and bought blowup mattress and bedding as bed too small for 2x6fters,so problem solved!)Sofa arms could use a quick clean,but otherwise property was spotless! Beautiful sunrise/sunsets & lovely quiet location on a steep narrow lane on the hillside. Sad to forfeit our last day,but had to be up before sunrise to beat the heatwave home! Thanks to the owner for a nice break... 'can't beat a bit of Charmouth and Lyme!

We stay in Dolphins Leap regularly and have always been pleased.

One of the few places anywhere where the owner checks to see if everything is OK.

The holiday cottage was in a fabulous location with amazing views and secure garden four our dogs.

Very clean and tidy which is how we left it to. The cottage was very well equipped with all needs considered. Only negatives we had were - The furniture was a little tired and could do with a little updating. A Smart TV and a larger bed in the master bedroom would have made the holiday even more perfect. We hope to return in the future. Happy for our review to be published, but wouldn’t want our few negative points to put people off due to the fabulous location.
