  • "Have no problems with Lyme Bay Holidays they are very helpful always have been and always on site to speak to a “person” with any problems, shame we cannot book direct with them instead of going through Chester."

    Sykes never got back to me from last March 2023 when we had a problem with the Key safe code (you gave us the wrong code number) and I’m still awaiting a reply from you from last week regarding the TV not working and the damp walls in the bedrooms, in the end we had to go to the local Lyme Bay Holidays and speak to a “person” who were very helpful

    I was informed by Lyme Bay of an issue with the tv reception which often happens in poor weather as we're in the bottom of the valley. The television is brand new and was working perfectly when I checked it a couple of days before your arrival. It was working perfectly when you left so definitely a transmitter issue. Saying that, It's a Smart TV and very complicated and it took me 20 minutes to remove the option of subtitles that you had put on. Consequently I've swapped it with a same size LCD TV which is much easier to navigate round. As to the damp walls, I suspect they were cold as the flat has been locked up for our winter lockdown. I deep cleaned the property during this shutdown and redecorated but missed some flaking paint around the mirror in bedroom 1 - this has now been redecorated. I had the heaters on prior to opening again in March but obviously not long enough to make the flat not feel cold. Next year I'll get the heaters on a week before we open.   • "The apartment was pleasant, comfortable but basic."

    The metal stairs were a hazard, it had rained heavily & they were slippery. Parking was a trial, the space provided was very difficult to negotiate, particularly right at the bottom of a very steep hill, with little turning space

  • "We had a lovely comfortable stay at Hatchett top floor flat very clean and comfortable beds, shower was lovely and warm, we tried to put the heaters on one evening when it got chilly but couldn’t get them working, parking very tricky, as others had mentioned and carrying shopping and luggage from the car to the flat is a little challenging, stairs could be to much for older persons, we enjoyed lovely walks a long the river to the pubs and restaurants was very chilled and relaxing, would definitely stay again ."

    Pleased the flat was comfortable and warm and that you enjoyed your stay. Not sure why you couldn't get the heaters to work as they only have three settings: on, off and programmed.   • "What a lovely flat!"

    It was extremely clean and comfortable and having a parking space in such a popular area was a real bonus. The very pretty walk into Lyme Regis took only about 10 minutes which meant that we were able to leave the car at the property for much of the time. Many thanks to John, the owner, who was very helpful and friendly during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Hatchett Top Flat and hope to return to the property in the near future.     Since you took over Lyme Bay Holidays the service is bad can’t get through to the lovely local agent in Lyme Regis only through to someone else in any part of the UK, when we arrived the key safe number was incorrect that was given to us from Sykes, lucky for us Lyme Bay Holidays was up the hill so we made our way up there to be told the key safe was a different number

    I'm sorry to hear that you experienced a problem accessing the property and being able to contact us. As a guest in residence you should still be able to come straight through to us on our office telephone number (01297) 443363, or as you say, the local office is open Monday to Saturday.   • "Excellent flat really close to the centre of Lyme Regis."

    In easy walking distance of the town and beaches. The flat itself was lovely and clean and had everything you could need. Lovely welcome hamper with local treats, thank you ☺️ We enjoyed the beaches, fossil hunting from the museum and the aquarium feeding the grey mullet. Thanks so much, we had a lovely holiday!

  • "Hatchett Top Flat was really nice."

    Especially the bathroom. It would have been nice to have some blackout blinds in the bedrooms as normally on holiday you like to sleep in. The 'garden' was a little barren, all concrete. The low wall and the angle of the parking space was of some concern. Which other people had mentioned in the visitors book and we did to the owner (nice chap). However the biggest issue concerning booking again is the £300! increase per week for next year. This seems to be for all Sykes/Lyme Bay Holidays properties. Well we've booked with someone else for next year, not at £300 more, and this is after more than twenty years of booking with Lyme Bay Holidays. I feel sorry for the owners of the holiday properties and wish them well, can't say the same for Sykes who just seem to be taking advantage of visitors who love Lyme Regis. We shan't be booking again with Sykes/Lyme Bay Holdays.

With all of the fantastic activities and amenities of Lyme Regis, Dorset, just a stone’s throw away, Hatchett Top Flat is perfect for two couples or a family looking to explore the Jurassic coast.

Use the off-road parking provided before entering into this lovely little property, where a homely sitting/dining room produces a variety of places for you to recline, as well as a large wooden dining table perfect for a family meal, surrounded with seaside paintings and artwork.

When you wish to create a heart-warming meal, a kitchen with black and white tiles and great amenities creates a space for the designated chef to enjoy cooking using local produce.

There are two bedrooms within this apartment, beginning with a double with a TV with large windows and another double that are both outfitted in grey tartan, as well as a large bathroom with white tiles where you can enjoy a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles.
