High Trees

The cottage was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed to prepare meals.

We would have preferred to eat outside but the sloping front patio area wasn't conducive to dining outside, nor was the back patio area. We preferred to sit in the conservatory and eat on our laps. The closure of the riverside lane right near the property caused confusion finding the property, and meant a longer walk to get to town. Otherwise, the location was convenient for accessing the town and other walks.

Super bungalow right on the river.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Great for a family with 2 children. Small sun lounge is a bonus which we enjoyed. Small enclosed garden ( for a small dog - I guess a large dog could possibly escape if it jumped high enough) for plenty of sniffs in the morning. Grateful for the bag of goodies and thoughtful extras - the dishwasher & washing machine tablets. Please note the steps up to the front door are a bit of a challenge for us oldies - but easy if you’re younger. Lovely walk into Lyme along the river to the beaches shops , restaurants & pubs. Go and enjoy - & find a fossil or two!

Perfect stay loved the bungalow and where it is.

I would like to make some suggestions which are very small but make a tremendous difference. Definitely needs a small fence panel for privacy from next door. No problem this time as next door property is empty. Cushions for dining table chairs.Also a standard lamp for cosy dining in the corner where dining table is. Lovely to sit on bench in the rear garden it would be nice to have a small garden table to put your drinks on etc. Lastly had to clean rear garden seat it had green mould.

Very clean and spacious bungalow in lovely setting on a pretty path down to town.

The sun room was a real bonus though the garden could do with some attention. Also the two sofas in the lounge are quite small and uncomfortable and could do with an upgrade. The number of steps up to the property should perhaps be mentioned for people with mobility issues and the instructions for the wi-fi router need up dating. These are a few niggles but we still enjoyed our holiday

We enjoyed a fabulous stay at High Trees.

The bungalow was super clean and well equipped. Furnishings are fairly basic but the king size bed was comfy and there was plenty of space to hang coats and store shoes and clothes etc. The location is perfect, a short walk into town along the river. The other way was a lovely walk for the dog, off lead, to ‘bumpy field’. Whilst right on the river and so gets a few walkers walking by, the elevated position means you’re not overlooked and at night from the front bedroom all we could hear was the river flowing and the birds waking up in the morning. We parked the car in the garage and had no need to move it until we left (5 days later) as there was such a lot to see and do, including some lovely long walks.

It was a really relaxing base to return to after a busy day’s house hunting in the area (Shame the one next door was already under offer) The garage was a bit tight but we just about perfected the parking by the ending the week! Appreciated the welcome pack and milk on the fridge on arrival.

Absolutely spotless. Quiet area, next to river and on the beautiful walk between uplyme and Lyme Regis. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks again- will definitely come back.

The accommodation was really good and a big bonus is the garage to leave car in all week.

Everything you need is just a short walk away from the accommodation. One downside was the amount we paid for the week. Nearly £1400 for the week is a lot.

Great holiday at High Trees every thing you need for a comfortable stay, the welcome goodies was much appreciated as was the garage parking, would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

We had a really lovely stay at High Trees (8-15 August).

It is in a wonderfully quiet spot by the river path, with a mostly level 8-10 minute walk into town. The garage is a great help. We have a VW Polo and it fitted in easily lengthways but anything much wider might be a bit tight. It is nicely decorated, clean with a modern kitchen where the only thing that would have been useful is a decent medium sized non-stick frying pan! Outside space was nicely maintained. You can hear the neighbours if they are in the garden. A gate at the front steps would have given us a bit more peace of mind, but these are small things and we would re-book without hesitation if it were just the three of us again. Thank you for sharing your lovely bungalow !

Absolutely would return to Hight Trees, it’s a lovely clean and well equipped bungalow.

Beautiful surroundings, walking out right at the bungalow and you will find a lovely woodland area to walk the dog. Walk left will take you to the seafront and so lovely bars and restaurants. The bungalow had everything you needed, and beds were extremely comfortable. Jackie.

Had a lovely stay at High Trees. The property was very clean, tidy and very well equipped. The welcome pack including a pint of milk in the fridge was very welcomed. There is no parking outside the property but the garage next door was large enough to fit my Hyundai Tucson. We parked outside to unload and then moved the car to the garage. The location of the property was perfect. Turn left and a ten min walk along the river took you in to the town, Turn right and 5mins in the woods and fields. I only used my car on a few occasions due to ease of the location. Would highly recommend high trees. We also found the locals extremely friendly and welcoming.

We love High Trees, the homely feel and the location by the river creates a calm peaceful holiday feel of its own.

Then a flat stroll along the river takes you to the town and beach area for a beautiful change of pace providing a lovely holiday vibe. When you add easy garage parking to the mix High Trees becomes the perfect home from home and a wonderful vacation.

Very well equipped, great location and clean.

The single bed was a little uncomfortable and the headboard wobbled every time I turned over in bed so I had to wedge it with a pillow. Otherwise we had everything we needed and loved the property. Great for dog owners.

Ideally situated with a ten minute walk into the centre of Lyme.

Nice property, great location, did not think I would have to go and buy toilet rolls.

Although I was aware that the property accepted animals, I did not expect it to smell so strongly of Dogs.

Absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful bungalow, beautiful area. Turn left from the property, a lovely walk beside the river into Lyme Regis. Plenty of shops, restaurants pubs and the Promenade/Beach. Turn right and you have a beautiful walk were you can let your dog off lead. Parking in the garage which is just the other side of the adjoining bungalow. Garage door turn the knob and just push it at the top and it opens. Park outside the bungalow on the river side to unload then reverse back to the driveway to the garage. It's a great place and we will be back. We did hire Weir cottage a few years ago which you will see on the walk down to Lyme which is being renovated, so we knew the area quite well. I recommend this cottage to anyone but it does have steps to the property. Great place.

Fantastic location- easy walk to the beach with our children, and it’s a very charming route by the river.

The house was very comfortable and well equipped and we appreciated all the games. There’s loads to do in Lyme Regis - we had a fantastic holiday.

Lovely property, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds.

Nice conservatory. Good position, flat walk to town, although they had to close part due to footpath breaking away after very high winds and rain. We appreciated there were steps to property but not aware it was such a small lane, which meant blocking it whilst unloading car, before putting it in garage.

High Trees provided everything we needed for a relaxing break.

The off street parking and level walk into town were a real bonus and the location was beautifully green and peaceful. The bungalow was light, clean and comfortable with outside space and the welcome pack was very generous. We would certainly stay here again.

High Trees is a comfortable cottage in a nice, quiet location within easy reach of the centre of Lyme Regis.

It was a great place to stay with a dog, as it's right on a pleasant footpath, which takes you into town or to Uplyme. It's also the same end of town as Church Cliff Beach, which is dog friendly. The kitchen had all the usual essentials. The kids appreciated the spare body board and crabbing kit. My only real gripe was the lack of recycling facilities.

Super location,however instructions on how to open the garage would have been appreciated as we and others we asked to help agreed it was not easy.

Lovely holiday bungalow, a super welcome gift which was a lovely surprise. The beds are wonderful, I tried to see what they were as I would like to have the mattress for one at home, but couldn't see any labels, sadly. Comfort wise there ,full marks, slept like logs. It was clean and adequately equipped, a normal grater and omelette pan would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, a few things need attention, the patio sliding doors were hard to use, a strong person has to move them. The garden really does need some TLC, plants were growing over the steps, a lot of weeds , it just looks so neglected,which is such a pity as there are some lovely plants. The lounge did smell of dog, but we opened the window and didn't use the room,which was fine , we are very grateful dogs are allowed. Great pity,Lymebay Holidays are so hard to contact, they give out a phone number,but a recorded message tells you the number is no longer available ! We don't expect to email on a Sunday to ask about opening a garage door.They are slow to respond too even by email.

The garage parking was excellent and the car must have been content because it didn’t come back out all week. The correspondence with the Lyme Bay Holiday team was first class so a big thank you from us and our dog for a very memorable holiday.

We enjoyed our short stay at High Trees, a comfortable bungalow, situated in a perfect location for a short picturesque walk into Lyme Regis or up-river to UpLyme.

We really appreciated the garage for the car, a real bonus! The small garden back and front could do with a makeover but that doesn’t detract from the overall experience. We would certainly rebook High Trees again when visiting lovely Lyme Regis.

Good Morning Just to confirm my wife and I had a great holiday at High Trees, the bungalow and facilities were excellent.

One very minor point, a throw used on the bed had cleary been used as some sort of blanket for the dog of the previous owner and smelt of damp dogs, we put it in a cupboard, we have a dog for which we took its own bed. May just be worth checking on cleaning schedule. Everything else was emaculate. Again would highly recommend. Roger

Better late than never. Absolutely adored this beautiful beach style bungalow. Mind blown at how large, light and spacious it seemed. Nice and clean and easy to keep clean, adored every part and made great use of the mini conservatory

A well located and appointed bungalow.

Ideally situated for either countryside walks or Lyme Regis seafront. We had a lovely short break with our dog, Lola not using the car from arrival to departure.

The property is in an excellent location so you can easily walk into Lyme Regis but also quiet too and you can easily get put to go to other places if you want.

A good range of facilities. Nice outdoor areas available too. Overall a great choice if you want to visit the area

We were very disappointed to receive an email on the first morning of our holiday (email not seen till arrived) that the next door neighbour was having solar panels fitted.

On contacting LBH (phone) we were advised that these works would only take about half a day. This proved to be inaccurate. The scaffolding was taken down on about the Monday, workers then reappeared on Weds afternoon and had a half day getting the property ready for the solar panels, they then returned on the Thurs morning and were still there at 2.30 when we decided to vacate the property and go home. We were obviously misinformed about the length and the times of the works and the drilling etc had an impact on our enjoyment of the property. I would also add that I was not impressed that I had to ring LBH to ask questions regarding the works as I could not respond to their email advising of the issues. Also, having spoken to someone (Mia I think) at LBH I was promised a call back on my mobile phone within 30 mins which never happened, however, on returning home there was a phone message on my landline, not much use as I was obvioulsy not at home. I did infact notice a message on my LBH account which I was unable to respond to and could not be bothered to ring again. I think that LBH need to change the way they expect clients to liaise with them, firstly by allowing emails from them to be replied to. Also, by allowing messages on the LBH account to be responded to. It almost seems that you do not want to deal with issues and therefore make it has inconvenient as possible for holiday makers to raise issues.

The property is just lovely.

So bright and clean and well furnished. The only things missing are an ice cube tray and possibly an electric fan but we did visit at a particularly hot time so realise that it wouldn't always be necessary. Parking was a bit difficult but only because other people had parked outside their garages or down by the wall which made it hard for us who were trying to use the garage as instructed. Welcome pack is really lovely and so generous. We would definitely come back and would recommend to our friends and family.

The accommodation was really clean, comfortable and in a great location.

Lovely walk along the river to get down to the mill and seafront. The only downside was it smelt quite strongly of dogs in the living room and hallway but luckily not in the bedrooms. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend!

The bungalow is very comfortable with everything we needed and having the garage for parking was a bonus (no issue fitting a Mercedes C Class estate in).

The welcome bag was a lovely touch, along with the dvd's which kept our son happy in the mornings while waiting to hit the beach. We would look to book again if staying in Lyme Regis.

Beautiful setting, very peacefully but easy walk to the centre of town.

Lovely being by the river we saw lots of birds and even a deer in the woods opposite. The house was very cosy great for our family stay. Would definitely go back again.

Maybe some blinds in the kitchen to make it darker in the morning for the dog.

The only negative was the patio and steps from the property which were a little precarious as well as having moss on them which made them slippery in the rain

A lovely cottage getaway in the beautiful Lyme Regis.

The setting with the stream and the trees was beautiful and quiet, with a really easy walk down to the sea front. Cottage was well equipped and decorated - felt very comfortable and relaxing. We appreciated the use of the garage and the welcome parcel filled with local treats. Would absolutely stay again!

We had a lovely stay at High Trees cottage bungalow.

A perfect, tranquil location within easy walking distance to the beach and all shops/attractions - 13 min walk max down the flat river Lim walk. Lyme Regis is lovely, and having a cottage so close meant we didn’t need the car at all. Facilities wise there are only 2 minor gripes. The garage is really tight for our VW Tiguan - a nervy park indeed The shower could do with upgrading as it is small and needs proper fixing and a better shower curtain setup Those aside we would highly recommend High Trees as a perfect place to visit Lyme Regis
