Vine Cottage is a charming 17th-century stone cottage nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Burton Bradstock, offering a wonderful blend of character, comfort and coastal living. Located along the world-renowned UNESCO Jurassic Coast, the property is surrounded by rolling countryside, beautiful beaches and a welcoming local community, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquillity, nature and a sense of heritage.
On arrival, a driveway provides space to park one car, and a gate opens onto a covered car port, offering secure parking for an additional vehicle. The front garden is a peaceful haven, with a small lawn bordered by cottage-style planting and seating areas that invite you to unwind and enjoy the calm surroundings.
Inside, the cottage opens into a warm and inviting open-plan living and dining room. Exposed beams, wooden wall panelling and a stone fireplace lend a timeless charm, while a delightful window seat offers views of the front garden. The dining area provides a comfortable spot to enjoy meals, and the adjoining kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven, fridge with ice box, small freezer and dishwasher.
The ground floor also includes a convenient WC and a spacious shower room with a large walk-in shower, wash basin and heated towel rail.A door off the sitting room opens to a staircase that leads to the first floor. Upstairs, the double bedroom offers a restful retreat, while the twin room includes an en-suite cloakroom with WC and wash basin, and enjoys lovely views over Burton Bradstock and the surrounding hills.
Outside, the rear courtyard garden is a practical space with gates to close to ensure security for dogs, while the front garden is ideal for enjoying morning coffee or evening drinks on the patio, surrounded by flowers and fresh sea air.
Burton Bradstock is a delightful village with two friendly pubs, a post office and easy access to the beach, where National Trust parking makes visits simple. Just a short walk away is the renowned Hive Beach Café, celebrated for its fresh seafood and stunning views across Lyme Bay. The South West Coast Path runs through the village, offering spectacular walks along the cliffs and shoreline. For special occasions, The Seaside Boarding House provides an elegant dining experience with breathtaking sea views, just a short drive from the cottage.
For days out, the lively market town of Bridport is nearby, offering independent shops, arts venues and a thriving food scene. West Bay, with its dramatic cliffs and harbour, is ideal for seaside adventures, while Lyme Regis is perfect for fossil hunting, boutique shopping and exploring the historic Cobb harbour. The nearby Symondsbury Estate is a lovely destination for lunch, browsing artisan shops or climbing Colmer’s Hill for panoramic views of the Dorset countryside.

A great cottage in a beautiful village.
The owners are so welcoming and friendly it was a pleasure to have them as neighbours. Plenty of walks on the doorstep and easy access to the beach. The cottage is full of character and the thickness of its walls provides a peaceful place to return to after busy days out. Probably one of the best locations we've found!

Very well equipped. Two good pubs in the village. Has bus stop which will take you along the coast.
