"Langton Matravers was a great choice with proximity to Swanage, the coastal path and Worth Matravers and the excellent Square and Compass pub."
We liked that the owners were flexible in allowing us to take two small dogs. The property is linked to the owners' house but access via a side path meant we still had privacy in our comings and goings. Parking on the street outside was very easy. The house was nicely furnished and had everything we needed for the stay with two comfortable bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge that we used on a couple of evenings. Internet was fast and effective and we made good use of the TV package for family films. We would happily stay again.

"The Old Haberdashery was a great place to stay for a short October break in Purbeck, in an excellent location with good access to the nearby coastal footpaths and close to Swanage."
The cottage looked newly decorated and was bright, clean and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable. Despite the cold weather, the electric radiators made it warm and cosy in the evenings. We brought a light stairgate with us which was useful to keep our retriever downstairs …
We would be very happy to stay there again.

The local bus service too was excellent and reliable with the bus stop just outside the property.

"Ideally located to enjoy the wonderful coastal paths and right next to bus stops for travel to Poole or Swanage, we have had a wonderful holiday in the Haberdashery."
The lack of a garden for the dog is the only drawback. Would definitely book this property again.

"The property itself was beautiful and in a fabulous location."
I felt my stay would have been much improved with a few simple changes.
1) the king-size mattress was extremely uncomfortable, and lumpy.
2) there was no mattress protector and the bedding was very poor quality
3) the oven was unusable as it was filthy.
4) the pathway up to the property was extremely slippery when wet.
5) would have been lovely to have had outdoor seating on the lawned area in front of the cottage.

"Having recently rented The Old Haberdashery and its sister property, Bobbin Cottage, I cannot recommend both of them highly enough."
The cottages are situated in the lovely village of Langton Matravers, a few minutes’ drive from Swanage, the Dorset seaside resort ranked in the top 10 in a recent survey of British seaside towns by Which magazine.
Apart from the excellent beach and attractions in Swanage, the village is only a 10-15 minute drive from Studland and its 4-mile stretch of sandy beach.
The village is also great for walkers/hikers as it offers easy access to the South West Coastal Path which runs along the Jurassic coast for 600+ miles.
The accommodation itself was clean and the kitchen fitted out with all the mod cons one would need for an enjoyable stay and the owners also left us a very useful welcome pack of tea, milk and some household items.
Parking our cars was easy on the not very busy main road outside the cottages.
The village also boasts a very friendly pub, the King's Arms and I would also recommend the nearby Square and Compass and Scott Arms pubs, both of which have stunning views, the latter over Corfe Castle.
All in all a very enjoyable week.
We will be returning!
Thanks for your feedback Richard. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

"Lovely cottage with great modern facilities."
It is on road parking but there is plenty of it. Loads of local walks. The Kings Arm is a pub short walk down the hill serves good food and a roast on a Sunday and has sports showing on a TV, but the Square and Compass or the Scott Arms are 2 mins drive away. Great situation with great connections to Swanage of Corfe Castle. Although an old building all feels very modern, a great mix, will be booking there next year!!

"We enjoyed a lovely break at The Old Haberdashery."
Lovely property in a lovely village, very peaceful and it was a lovely place to come back to after a day out in the questionable weather!
The bus stop outside the house is incredibly useful and means no wrestling witn parking etc. There's also a lovely small shop which is attached to the local pub which is great for your morning coffee (and cake!). We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

"We had a really lovely stay here."
Spotlessly clean and a great location. Comfortable and very quiet. All important factors. The only mistakes made were ours - we hadn't realised there wasn't a WC upstairs. Nor did we realise there was no sitting out area or direct access to the garden in the photo. And we were blessed with great weather in October. But we recognise that this was OUR oversight and we'd had plenty of sunshine anyway!

"Lovely cottage great for easy commute to and from places, lovely walks across the road we enjoyed our stay and thinking about booking again next year the owners left some milk and biscuits which was very good of them so we could have a cuppa on arrival."

"Had a lovely week here, situated at the top of the village, walking distance to the pub which is a traditional pub with really good food, the pizzas at the weekend are amazing."
Great location for exploring Studland and west Dorset coast, towns and villages. For dog owners there is no direct access to a secure garden so need to lead up to take out, not a problem for us for a week. The property is very nice, two bedrooms upstairs, bathroom, kitchen and lounge on the ground floor. Would definitely return!

"Lovely property - plenty of space for our family of 6 and a dog for the weekend."
Only slight drawback would be lack of outside space if going in good weather and wanting to enjoy summer evenings outside.
But all in all a great place, in a great location. We had a wonderful weekend
Thanks Tim for taking the trouble to feed back. Much appreciated.

"Absolutely beautiful property to stay in with its own interesting history."
Recently renovated and everything is new and sparkling. Plenty of space and light within the property with quality fittings and furnishings. Cosy and warm and very comfortable beds. Good shower and kitchen facilities. The sofa bed in the living room is a very nice touch. There was five of us and we had plenty of space. The owner is also warm and welcoming. Location is brilliant. So much to see and do all within 20 to 30 minutes drive. Even some nice walks from the village itself and adjacent village. Do not hesitate to book this beautiful and also very reasonably priced property if you are considering a holiday in the Poole area.
Thank you so much for this review Gavyn. We're very happy that you enjoyed your stay.
