  • "Thank you for such a wonderful stay at your beautiful home."

So much character, so well equipped and clearly loved as a family home. This was our first ever family holiday and it was perfect! We'd love to return

  • "What a fantastic home!"

The view is amazing, even better than it looks in the pictures. Very clean and comfortable and beds are fantastically comfy

  • "A small observation is that 10:00 leave with a 16:00 check in, with having to pack up bedding and towels, with a general tidy up is very impacting, almost reducing the amount of time available."

On a arrival there was dog mess in the garden and several poo bags left as the side of the building. I would definitely return and do not want my comments to sound negative, just something to consider, Thanks

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really pleased to hear that you would return to the property. In terms of the check-out and check-in times, due to the number of properties that need to be fully serviced on changeover days, our standard times are 10:00 for departure and 16:00 for arrival. This allows our housekeeping teams enough time to thoroughly clean and prepare each property to the standard we expect. That said, guests are always very welcome to get in touch on the day of arrival to check if the property is ready earlier, and we will always accommodate an early check-in wherever possible. I’m very sorry to hear about the dog mess in the garden and the waste left to the side of the building. This is certainly not the standard we expect, and I can reassure you that this has been addressed with the team to ensure it does not happen again. THE LYME BAY TEAM Property Owner

  • "St Helena gave us such a warm welcome with a lovely welcome pack packed with delicious goodies but more importantly the cleanliness, comfortable style, quality bedding and beds, and family friendly spacious kitchen and dinning area with patio doors overlooking a patio area which linked with an outside sitting area with amazing views."

Cooking and sociable meals were a delight with a very well equipped kitchen for our foodies to use and open patio doors making the most of the beautiful weather we had. The two well fitted bathrooms delivered great showers and a lovely bath for bathing little ones. With 5 adults, a baby, a toddler and a 5 year old this property was perfect offering flexibility and a beautiful wildlife friendly garden to explore. Charmouth is charming with a beautiful beach, rock pools, fossils, facilities and heritage centre. The village has a great bakery and handy small shops and cafes. The location of St Helena is peaceful with two good parking spaces yet only a 10 minute stroll from the beach which over a very sunny bank holiday weekend got quite quite busy. St Helena is a wonderful place to stay, to relax, recharge and spend precious time with loved ones. We hope to return.

Thank you very much for your detailed review. We're so glad that you had a comfortable stay and were able to unwind , relax and enjoy being together as a family in St Helena as well as in your exploration of the village and the beach. Property Owner

  • "A lovely home with great coastal views and a large garden which was perfect for us and our 2 dogs."

As already mentioned the living room is small and not comfortable for 6 but everywhere else is spacious, very clean and also very well equipped. Would have appreciated a full length mirror, a stair gate to more easily keep the dogs downstairs and salt and pepper pots. The blinds in the green bedroom do not keep the light out, a little annoying to be woken at 5. 30 each day. Privacy is also compromised in the room at night with a light on. However we really did enjoy our stay and would return but probably sleep in the bedroom at the side.

We're so pleased that you enjoyed the house, the coastal views, garden and location. We're sorry to hear about the early light in the front bedroom. The room has blackout blinds but, due to the sash window style, the blinds don't sit as close to the wall as the other bedrooms. We'll make a note to organise some extra stick-on blackout liners for people to use at this time of year if they wish. The sitting room is snug for large groups but a sixth easy chair can be brought in from the dining room. We also have a second TV and games in the larger kitchen-dining room if people want to spread out (as well as the patio in good weather!) Property Owner

  • "We had a great week at St Helena, the propoerty is 10 mins walk to the beach and similer to the local pub, as it is on a no through road traffic noise was very low."

We had 4 prople ar the property which worked well, if more people were staying you may struggle for seating in the lounge as the sofas would be snug for two adults. The kitchen is very well equiped with all the facitites you could expect, TV was of a good size which you could pair your android tablet or phone to, wifi coverage was good and fast. The heating was simple to control and there was always plenty of hot water. Our dog enjoyed the garden, it was made clear by the owners the garden was not dog proof but we had no problems. We would happliy rebook if heading down to Charmouth in the future.

Thank you. We're glad you had a good week at St Helena and that everything went smoothly. We like the quietness of the road and closeness to the beach , pub and shops too.. Property Owner

  • "St Helena is a beautiful house, very well appointed with everything you could need, immaculately clean throughout and just what we had hoped wanted to make our weekend away great."

The beds were fantastically comfy and we all slept really well. The walk in shower was brilliant as was the cavenous bath. The house has a cosy lounge, brand new kitchen and bathrooms, incredible views over the roof tops to the coast and sea from the bedrooms all went to making it a pleasure to be in. The village of Charmouth has everything you need too, dog friendly beach, fossils, shops, bakery, pubs doing great food, chippy and very friendly locals.... what more could you ask for?...... 5 stars all round!

We're so pleased you enjoyed your winter weekend stay in Charmouth at St Helena and that you kept cosy. Thank you for your lovely review. Property Owner

The home enjoys wrap-around gardens and a stunning glass-balustraded terrace, designed to make the most of its elevated position and breathtaking views.

From here, you can gaze out towards Golden Cap, and as far as Portland on clear days. Inside, the house is light-filled and thoughtfully furnished throughout.

The lounge features large bay windows making the most of the great views and creating a calm and inviting space to relax.

The kitchen and dining area is a bright, sociable space at the heart of the home - perfect for gathering over breakfast, sharing stories from the day, or enjoying a relaxed evening meal.

Patio doors open directly onto the rear garden, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living, with additional seating just outside for alfresco dining.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a dishwasher, larder fridge, freezer, washing machine, and tumble dryer, making it as practical as it is welcoming. On the first floor, there are three comfortable bedrooms: a king size room, a double, and a twin that can be made up as a super king on request - ideal for families or friends sharing.

St Helena offers parking for two cars, with additional on-street parking nearby, and welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs, so everyone can enjoy the break together. The village itself offers a delightful selection of shops and eateries, including the Charmouth Bakery for fresh crab sandwiches and pastries and Charmouth Stores, perfect for picking up your day-to-day essentials.
