"We enjoyed our holiday very much and hope to return again soon."
Very easy and spacious off road parking. Walk to the beach. The view of the sea from the bedroom is even better than the photos and the sound of the waves at night is very relaxing. Very comfortable home away from home. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. Excellent hot water and water pressure. Bedroom furniture and shelves were very useful. The garden is big and the clothes line was useful. We found the garden to be dog proof for our dog. Really wonderful house that is clean and tidy and well maintained. The lounge chairs were luxury but another sofa in the lounge would be helpful. I would recommend visiting St Helena. We are likely to book for 2 weeks next time.
We're delighted that you had a lovely week at St Helena and found it a such good place to stay and suited your needs. We love the water pressure too - the result of a brand new water supply pipe during our renovations and walking so easily to the beach has always been a pleasure.
We're always thinking of tweaks to make St Helena even better so it's useful to have your feedback. Thank you and it would be lovely to host you again

"Enjoyed the stay at St Helena."
Everything we needed was in the house and it was lovely to receive the gift bag. We didnt have to get the car out as it was an ideal spot to walk to all amenities, Ideal postion.
We found the furniture in the lounge inadequate for the six of us to sit in all at once. Would of liked a table, chairs and parasol for us all to eat outside especially with the weather being nice . The garden was overgrown with weeds and we had to cut some brambles so the children didnt get tangled up with them.
The recycling bin didnt get emptied from the week before, and hadnt been emptied when we left even though we followed the instructions in the welcome pack. However we had a very enjoyable holiday.
The recycle bin didnt get emptied from the previous week so was full when we left because it hadnt been emptied even though it was put out according to instructions.
We're pleased to hear you had an enjoyable week at St Helena, found it to be the perfect location and that welcome pack was a good treat. It is lovely to be able to walk down easily to the beach
We looked carefully at the outside space before opening and had the measuring tape out and found that there wasn't quite enough space on the patio for a table and chairs without a squeeze when the chairs were pulled out which is why we chose easy chairs and a coffee table for that area.
We work extremely hard clearing brambles but they grow again so quickly although they have improved dramatically since we took over. We will keep working at it and apologise for the ones you encountered.
We hope you were able to enjoy the extra space, TV, games and easy chairs in the dining room.
Very sorry to hear about the bin. This should absolutely be emptied every Thursday and we'll ask Lyme Bay holidays what has happened here and ask them to rectify it imnediately- thank you very much for bringing it to our attention.

"We had a lovely week here."
Cottage was brilliant. The outside area was lovely and we were able to sit out all day and well into the evening. Only complaint was the curtains in the front bedroom which didn't block out light.
Charmouth itself was an ideal base. Good bus service and enough amenities to cater for a relaxing break. The beach is only a stones throw away.
We would recommend this cottage to anyone.
So pleased to hear you had a lovely week with good weather and found the house suited you so well and would recommend a stay to others.
I'm sorry to hear about the norning light in the front bedroom. The blinds have a black out lining which suits most people but unfortunately it was impossible for the blind fitter to fit them any closer due to the sash window design. I leave extra black out material, cut to the right size, to fit tightly to the window with suction cups for people who are sensitive to light to use. I'll ask our cleaner to put it in a more prominent place in case it's needed.
Best wishes

"A small observation is that 10:00 leave with a 16:00 check in, with having to pack up bedding and towels, with a general tidy up is very impacting, almost reducing the amount of time available."
On a arrival there was dog mess in the garden and several poo bags left as the side of the building. I would definitely return and do not want my comments to sound negative, just something to consider, Thanks
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really pleased to hear that you would return to the property.
In terms of the check-out and check-in times, due to the number of properties that need to be fully serviced on changeover days, our standard times are 10:00 for departure and 16:00 for arrival. This allows our housekeeping teams enough time to thoroughly clean and prepare each property to the standard we expect. That said, guests are always very welcome to get in touch on the day of arrival to check if the property is ready earlier, and we will always accommodate an early check-in wherever possible.
I’m very sorry to hear about the dog mess in the garden and the waste left to the side of the building. This is certainly not the standard we expect, and I can reassure you that this has been addressed with the team to ensure it does not happen again. THE LYME BAY TEAM

"St Helena gave us such a warm welcome with a lovely welcome pack packed with delicious goodies but more importantly the cleanliness, comfortable style, quality bedding and beds, and family friendly spacious kitchen and dinning area with patio doors overlooking a patio area which linked with an outside sitting area with amazing views."
Cooking and sociable meals were a delight with a very well equipped kitchen for our foodies to use and open patio doors making the most of the beautiful weather we had.
The two well fitted bathrooms delivered great showers and a lovely bath for bathing little ones.
With 5 adults, a baby, a toddler and a 5 year old this property was perfect offering flexibility and a beautiful wildlife friendly garden to explore.
Charmouth is charming with a beautiful beach, rock pools, fossils, facilities and heritage centre. The village has a great bakery and handy small shops and cafes. The location of St Helena is peaceful with two good parking spaces yet only a 10 minute stroll from the beach which over a very sunny bank holiday weekend got quite quite busy.
St Helena is a wonderful place to stay, to relax, recharge and spend precious time with loved ones. We hope to return.
Thank you very much for your detailed review. We're so glad that you had a comfortable stay and were able to unwind , relax and enjoy being together as a family in St Helena as well as in your exploration of the village and the beach.

"A lovely home with great coastal views and a large garden which was perfect for us and our 2 dogs."
As already mentioned the living room is small and not comfortable for 6 but everywhere else is spacious, very clean and also very well equipped. Would have appreciated a full length mirror, a stair gate to more easily keep the dogs downstairs and salt and pepper pots. The blinds in the green bedroom do not keep the light out, a little annoying to be woken at 5. 30 each day. Privacy is also compromised in the room at night with a light on. However we really did enjoy our stay and would return but probably sleep in the bedroom at the side.
We're so pleased that you enjoyed the house, the coastal views, garden and location.
We're sorry to hear about the early light in the front bedroom. The room has blackout blinds but, due to the sash window style, the blinds don't sit as close to the wall as the other bedrooms. We'll make a note to organise some extra stick-on blackout liners for people to use at this time of year if they wish.
The sitting room is snug for large groups but a sixth easy chair can be brought in from the dining room. We also have a second TV and games in the larger kitchen-dining room if people want to spread out (as well as the patio in good weather!)

"We had a great week at St Helena, the propoerty is 10 mins walk to the beach and similer to the local pub, as it is on a no through road traffic noise was very low."
We had 4 prople ar the property which worked well, if more people were staying you may struggle for seating in the lounge as the sofas would be snug for two adults. The kitchen is very well equiped with all the facitites you could expect, TV was of a good size which you could pair your android tablet or phone to, wifi coverage was good and fast. The heating was simple to control and there was always plenty of hot water. Our dog enjoyed the garden, it was made clear by the owners the garden was not dog proof but we had no problems. We would happliy rebook if heading down to Charmouth in the future.
Thank you. We're glad you had a good week at St Helena and that everything went smoothly. We like the quietness of the road and closeness to the beach , pub and shops too..

"St Helena is a beautiful house, very well appointed with everything you could need, immaculately clean throughout and just what we had hoped wanted to make our weekend away great."
The beds were fantastically comfy and we all slept really well. The walk in shower was brilliant as was the cavenous bath. The house has a cosy lounge, brand new kitchen and bathrooms, incredible views over the roof tops to the coast and sea from the bedrooms all went to making it a pleasure to be in. The village of Charmouth has everything you need too, dog friendly beach, fossils, shops, bakery, pubs doing great food, chippy and very friendly locals.... what more could you ask for?...... 5 stars all round!
We're so pleased you enjoyed your winter weekend stay in Charmouth at St Helena and that you kept cosy.
Thank you for your lovely review.
