  • "Trinity cottage is ideally situated,a short walk from the centre of Christ church and the beautiful quayside and bandstand area."

The cottage is well equipped with 2 sofas, the one opposite theTV reclines when you pull the little handles next to the sofa arms. This property is ideal for dogs, with its wooden effect floors and secure outside area. The free parking behind the property is another bonus. We stayed here in June aswell as October and we would certainly come back again!

  • "Property was very clean and comfortable, parking facility very good, brilliantly situated in town with handy shops, M&S Food store nearby."

The only downside was that we couldn’t switch the heating on when the weather was cool and the leather settees were not very comfortable. Only small things though and we really enjoyed our stay.

Hi Cynthia , sorry you had an issue with the heating ,it does work well but we might need to display some instructions. Our numbers are in the house book and website , we encourage people to call with issues as most things can be sorted very quickly. The sofas are quality items, one is a recliner which becomes very comfortable and being leather are very easy to keep clean and hygienic. Kind regards ,Archie and Marella Property Owner

Some may consider it a bit noisey at night due to the location, with the pub opposite but this did not bother us. Very dog friendly with fantastic river and beach walks, less than 10 mins drive away. Fantastic pubs, cafes and shops (M&S foodhall 2 min walk). Would definitely recommend.

Parking is tight but we were used to it as the week went on. Electric charger nearby was very useful. Cottage was clean and kitchen utensils were ok. Would suggest adding a pair of scissors. Only annoying thing was the kitchen tap. If you switched the hot water on a little too much it wet your clothes. We look forward to our next visit in April.

It is in a good location and very close to all the shops, buses, restaurants and bars. We enjoyed lovely walks to Mudeford and Southbourne which both have great beaches. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well maintained and the kitchen was very well equipped. The beds were also very comfortable. Geoff

  • "House is in a great location also comfy beds and nice decor."

Unfortunately though bad point was cleanliness, glass hood flume and the cooker/oven were not clean, glass hood was thick with grease, floors were not washed, cobwebs everywhere, and we had to hoover dead leaves from inside front door. We come on holiday to relax not to clean what should have been clean. Corners cut where cleaning is concerned. If these points are hopefully heeded then the place would be perfect.

Hello and please accept our apologies for this experience. We pay a professional cleaning company to do a thorough job after each and every letting and this type of feedback is highly disappointing. We will take this matter up with the company concerned immediately. I note that you posted the review on the day you checked in , our number is clearly displayed in the cottage and we ask guests to contact us with any issues. We would have been able to arrange an immediate return visit by our cleaning company. If the regular cleaner is ill or away such things can very occasionally happen , no excuse , but these things can happen. The key is that we can put them the right very quickly but if we are not contacted we do not have this chance to. I encourage guests to read a range of reviews , we receive numerous comments such as ‘spotlessly clean ‘ and ‘delightful’ very regularly and your experience is extremely rare.We take our responsibilities very seriously and feel badly let down and will ensure this type of comments never happens in the future. The weather for our stay was beautiful so we could make use of the seating area outside in the early evening after a day out and the sun was perfectly positioned. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and everything in the property was clean and well maintained. The area itself had everything we needed so we didn't venture far away. Beautiful walk along the harbour and river with lots of hidden history. We had a couple of questions during our stay and the host of the property was extremely helpful we honestly could not have asked for more and we will definitely be coming back here again.

We enjoyed walking to the quay. And catching the bus to Bournemouth. And looking round the stalls on market day. The only thing I would add to the property would be a cot so we didn't have to bring our travel cot and mattress.

So pleased you enjoyed the cottage and Christchurch it is a lovey Area Sorry about the cot we don’t have much storage in the cottage We have a large shed in the garden for high chair and pushchair And spare dining chairs I will look in to getting a cot I just thought it may get damp And cold in the shed . • "Really lovely cottage which was very clean and looked like it had been recently tastefully decorated."

Fantastic location close to all the lovely restaurants and bars and more widely all the attractions of Christchurch and surrounding area. The only negative comment I’d make is that the bedrooms are set up to sleep 6 however we had 5 of us, our 3 kids are all adult-sized teenagers now and we found it a squash downstairs. There is really only space for 4 people downstairs - 4 round the table and only space for 4 on the sofas- someone had to sit on a plastic garden chair which obviously isn’t very comfy and it was a real tight squeeze, they were sat in the access way through to the kitchen so no one could come and go. It’s difficult to gauge size from the photos on the website. It’s perfect for a group of 4 I’d say.

Hi Kathryn and thank you. We take on board your comments. We have had groups of five and even six before including little ones ,and this hasn’t been mentioned but we are sorry you felt a bit squeezed. We will look at providing spare chairs for such bookings , and there is also the option of the breakfast bar with the two comfy stools. Glad you enjoyed the fantastic location and the cottage in general. Property Owner

My only gripes are that the pressure on the shower was quite low and the dishwasher was noisy in operation. We will definitely book another visit.

Hi Colin and thank you for the feedback. Dishwashers can of course be a little loud in open plan rooms , we tend to pop them on when going out. Sorry if the pressure on the shower seemed low, this has not been mentioned before but it is being checked as we speak. All the best Marella and Archie Property Owner

It's deceptively spacious and nicely decorated. The beds are really comfortable, and the property is spotlessly clean. The property was clean and comfortable and is perfectly positioned close to everything you could possibly need. Would definitely recommend. Would point out on the listed description though that the parking area is quite small and only really suitable for one family sized vehicle. Sean.

Thank you Sean so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. Regarding the private parking area it is correctly described as a’tandem’ system ie two cars park one in front of the other. It is definitely possible , there is enough space , but larger vehicles are better as the vehicle at the front. Thank you Archie and Marella Property Owner

  • "The property was filthy on our arrival with only half the beds made."

My wife spent the first night and morning cleaning the house to ensure it was hygienic enough for a baby. The bins hadn't been put out for weeks so we had no where to store the rubbish until bin day. The property is actually very good with a good location. The thing that let it down was the cleanliness and basic items missing. It would be great if you could put in an iron and ironing board. I wouldnt let with Sykes cottages if I were the owner, I found that most of the things that frustrated me were conversations with Sykes who didn't communicate with the owner or with the person letting. This then exacerbated the issues.

Thank you for your feedback . As new business owners trying to provide the very highest standards for our guests ,your comments were very concerning and confusing, especially since the two previous guests described the property as ‘very clean’ and a ‘lovely clean property’. Our cleaning company had Covid related absences during this period, so despite completing a changeover clean ,it seems the normally very high standards may have slipped slightly, for which we apologised. My wife reacted to your complaint immediately. We conducted an extra clean and offered a further deep clean , which you rejected, preferring to deal with Sykes. We are aware of no basic items missing but have now added such items as hair dryer, iron and high chair. Despite it not being standard practice all beds will now be made up for all rentals. We have re-iterated the request for our guests to put the bins outside the gate on Tuesday evenings. We are pleased you were happy to accept our offer of a partial refund and regret that ,due to the popularity of the property, we were not able to accommodate your request to stay two further nights. • "The property has been recently refurbished."

The walls have been painted. New carpets have been put in upstairs. The bathroom was clean and bright. The beds were very comfortable. The wifi was fast. The kitchen was well-equipped (and had lots of things that not all cottages have, e.g. cling film, foil, salt, pepper, plus plenty of cutlery and utensils). The property overlooks a public car park, so we did hear some noise in the car park on the weekend from people returning late at night to their cars. But this was a minor inconvenience given how well situated the property is for the high street in Christchurch and all of its shops and restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay and would consider returning if we fancied being in the same part of the country again.
