  • "Bigger bath towels!"

Bath difficult to get into. Parking a nightmare. Toaster burned toast one side and not the other! Set off smoke alarm! Lever for plug in bathroom sink didn't work View fantastic! Well equipped.

Dear Ann Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Halyards. We’re pleased that you enjoyed the fantastic view and appreciate your positive feedback regarding the equipment provided in the flat. We do our very best to provide guests with everything needed for a comfortable stay so, following your feedback regarding the bath towels, I am pleased to confirm that we will be replacing the current standard sized bath towels with larger bath sheets. Thank you also for making us aware that the Classic Dualit toaster wasn’t working properly - a replacement has been ordered. We have also changed the washbasin plug in the main bathroom. We're sorry that you found getting into the bath difficult. We have previously considered replacing the bath tub with a shower, but many of the families who stay with us during the summer tell us that they appreciate having the bath available (especially after a long hot day on the beach with small children!) so we have no immediate plans to change this. There is however a separate stand-alone shower available in the master ensuite. We were also sorry to hear that parking was “a nightmare” for you. Halyards, like much of the holiday accommodation in the area does not have private parking (this is generally accepted as trade-off for the superb location and view on offer!). That said, as outlined in the property details, there are several parking options close to the property as follows: *Monmouth Beach/Cabanya Car Park (282 spaces) which is a level, 2 minute walk from the property, *A privately owned carpark attached to the guest house immediately behind Ozone Terrace *In winter there is free on-street parking available immediately outside the property on Ozone Terrace itself (between October 1st - March 14th) *Alternatively, there is the option of the Holmbush Carpark at the top of Cobb Road (5-10 minutes steep walk up the hill) which offers a further 363 spaces. We do understand that it can be challenging to park in Lyme at peak times (especially during July and August), but we were surprised that parking was difficult for you during your November stay. We’re sorry that this was the case but you will of course appreciate that this is very much beyond our control. We hope that this will not deter you from visiting and enjoying Lyme Regis in the future. Celia Property Owner

Every home comfort, very well equiped and the most wonderful views. A very cosy spot to watch the waves breaking over the Cobb.

Dear Jodie It was lovely to welcome you back to Halyards again this year, thank you so much for your review. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back again next year. Celia Property Owner

  • "This is the second year we have stayed at the property and will be returning again next year!"

The apartment is clean, modern and airy with every facility you could need. The addition of the new blinds throughout was a real bonus too. Great location for the sea and places to eat. See you next year!

  • "The property is a lovely holiday stay."

However more information should be given on the access to the property. I did query the stairs to the property and was told two steep flights of stairs to the property infact it was 2 short flights then a very steep and windy "kite winder" staircase which wasn't ideal for my mum who has just be diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees hence the reason I checked the access. This did make her accessing the property all week very difficult as well as actually getting onto the road due to the steep curb running the whole length on the road. The beds were a little hard but overal the accommodation inside the property was fantastic. Lovely welcome pack on offer which was a special touch. Just a shame about the stairs to the property which I feel would be a problems for most people both able and not.

  • "Really lovely property in the perfect location, well equipped and comfortable."

The family bathroom floor was a little sharp and uneven. Appreciate its rustic but it’s a bit dangerous with small feet The only criticism we have is the size of the shower towels! Would be nice to have one that covers you up….even my 12 year old was exposed..

  • "I am a regular visitor to this property and as such was disappointed that, in response to the information that the windows steaming up was a problem not yet solved, I was not offered a goodwill refund."

I was informed that, depending on the weather the steaming effect might not be a problem - in November!!! There was only one panel in the living room which was clear and none clear in the bedroom. I have a photo of the obscured view through the bedroom window. If you would like to see the problem let me know an email address and I'll send the photo. As the view is the major selling point of this property I am astonished that I was not offered any money off as a goodwill gesture. Very bad customer relations. Other more minor things to note is that the pillows are too deep. Using only one pillow is too high for comfort and all the pillows are the same type. Perhaps supply a less deep pillow as an alternative choice? The holiday was lovely despite these setbacks and we were blessed with lovely weather. We love Lyme Regis and the flat is in an excellent location.

We are pleased to welcome you back as one of our regular visitors. The owner has planned to replace the windows, and make some other improvements this winter. We did contact you before your holiday to advise of the issues with the windows and offered the option of cancelling the booking without penalty. We do hope that when you return you will be pleased with the changes. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

The views to the Cobb were superb. We also really appreciated the welcome hamper. We will definitely return to this property. Our only negative comment would be that the bath towels were rather small.

  • "When we stayed last year we recommended a grab rail in the bathroom and also the en-suite as it is difficult to get in and out of the bath, especially if you are a short person and the shower can also be a challenge."

There's still no grab rails which has made it challenging for our party, one of the ladies is only 5' tall and the other lady needs a new hip. We were pleased to have a lock on the bathroom door, which we asked for last year. As we have already booked for next year, the addition of grab rails would be very welcome, from a Health & Safety point of view we suggest that they are essential.

  • "We had a lovely stay, the apartment was perfect for us and amazing location."

The only negative was the windows, the double glazing has blown and it was such a shame that it clouded that amazing view, appreciate its an expense to replace but it would have made a huge difference for us. Thank you!

A generous welcome pack. The Cornish blue crockery gave the apartment style and class. The sun shines through the front windows with views to the Cobb and the sea beyond. A perfect setting. Parking off season can be found at the B&B behind the property, just up the hill for £3 a day/night.

We found the kitchen particularly well equipped with everything we needed. The stairs are steep and twisty but it is worth the climb to see the views over Monmouth beach and The Cob. The garden and garden furniture were a real bonus. The welcome hamper included local delights, wine and fresh milk and was very much appreciated. We would happliy return next time we are in Lyme Regis.

  • "A lovely property in its setting, layout, furnishings and facilities."

It had everything we needed and a little bit more which is always welcome and it’s position, just yards from the main beach and sea front is great. If the windows of the living room could be made lockable that would be good, as our 4yrs old was able to open them easily while sitting at the dining table. That being said it’s highly likely we’ll look to rebook for next summer.

  • "Excellent accommodation, kitchen has been very well equipped."

Sofas and beds comfy just one note ..the main bedroom has a big gap between the window blinds ..which means when the suns up so are you ! Seagulls can be noisy but that’s what you get at the seaside. We parked our car behind the property for the same price as the large car park at the top of a VERY steep hill so definitely worth seeing if there’s a space !
