  • "This property is comfortable and well equipped as well as being suitable for anyone with mobility issues."

It is in a lovely location. The owners are helpful, live next door to the property and happily assist with any queries. If we go to Dorset again we will rebook.

  • "We stayed in the lodge from the end of May, and it was perfect."

The lodge was really clean, and spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The two bathrooms were great as me and my son had one and my parents had the other. The wetroom was great for my mum who has mobility issues. We all loved the garden and seeing the horses . My son loved feeding them an apple, and Jackie and Alan were wonderful too. They took the time to answer his many questions about all their animals and let him see the chickens and take a freshly laid egg. The yummy home made cream tea was also much appreciated after our journey. The lodge itself is close to many beautiful places and attractions. We will definitely be back again, and will recommend to all our friends.

  • "Jackie and Alan are lovely hosts."

From home made scones, jam and cream on day of arrival to duck eggs to take home with us. The property is very good. I have a slight disability and the ramp up to the door and the wet room were wonderful for me. If you had children with you the property has a games room. The local area is beautiful. Burton Bradstock was such a wonderful find. Lyme Regis is also lovely. If you enjoy a cliff walk then WestBay or Seatown are both very good with wonderful views. The property has a lovely garden to sit in. This was our second visit to Brookfield Lodge and I would highly recommend it.

  • "Owner welcoming but not intrusive."

Freshly made scones were delicious. The facilities were very good except the WiFi was very intermittent and no signal in the lounge. The accommodation is more suited to a family with 2 children rather than 2 couples. The wet room is not ideal as a multi functional bathroom as after a shower everything is wet through due to lack of air circulation and had to leave the door open to help dry out.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback. We have had problems with the Wifi coverage and have sourced some new equipment, which was installed between changeovers last Saturday, and now offers a much better signal which extends into the garden. The wet room is enjoyed by many visitors of all ages, the fan, which comes on with the light could be left on for a while after use. We haven't had any complaints from previous guests regarding this. We always ask our guests to contact us if they have any problems as we would be happy to assist them if we'd been made aware of their concerns during their stay. Property Owner

The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with nice quirky details, and much bigger than I expected. • "A wonderful week in Dorset at Brookfield Lodge."

The property was excellent. Extremely clean with a great garden for our dog to venture out and say hello to the ducks, chickens and two horses. Delicious home made scones, jam and clotted cream were waiting for us when we arrived which was greatly appreciated. The lodge is conveniently located for visiting Beer, Bridport, West Bay, Weymouth and Lyme Regis. It was only a 50 minute drive into East Devon to visit the Bicton Botanical Gardens and lovely Sidmouth. Highly recommended with a 2022 return planned

The lodge was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the patio outside when the sun was shining, drinking our wine and watching the horses and the ducks. Our lads loved playing in the games room. We had a table tennis competition and played board games such as monopoly, frustration and cluedo when it rained and when we returned back to our lodge after a long day out driving around Dorset and visiting many beautiful coves.

Exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Owners very helpful, delicious cream tea on last day. We were there during wet and windy weather so Lodge could be a little cold without heating on, but we could adjust it ourselves so not a problem. A little stool in lobby would be good idea to make it easier for us old fogies to put on our muddy boots :-)

Jackie and Alan were very friendly and helpful and, despite the expected coolness of the English autumn, the accommodation was warm and cosy. Our children particularly enjoyed the games room. The location was very handy for trips to Dorchester and the coast, and not too far from Paultons Park (under 2 hours’ drive). The home-made cream tea on our last day was delicious and a lovely end to a very happy holiday.

This lodge is brilliant if you have a member of your party that is disabled and/or in a wheelchair. Although we didn't use it the games room was very well equipped and would keep children happy for hours. The surrounding locations is as Jackie says " a hidden gem" Its an ideal location for visiting the Jurassic coast. However a car is a must. • "It is a brilliantly conceived steel framed barn conversion, with wheelchair access everywhere and very conveniently positioned electrics, switches and sockets, and all facilities within reach."

A lot of work has been gone into this very comfortable, smart conversion. I spent nearly all of January in supreme comfort, the only thing missing was a tumble dryer, but a new washing machine and dishwasher made up for that, and it is a holiday home after all! The location, on the edge of the small village/hamlet is fine for those used to living in an urban environment, as there are few views over the countryside, a pub is the only commerce apart from the 'fish&chip van' every Tuesday evening! Being in a small river valley, it's uphill in all directions, wheelchair walks are not a good idea! You couldn't meet a nicer family than the Scutts (the owners) who made me very welcome, making me feel 'at home' and checking that I "had all I needed" very regularly. I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to others, provided they have transport, or love walking!

  • "The accommodation did meet expectations in terms of facilities, the lodge could do with a bit of maintenance for example the mattresses on the beds where uncomfortable, the duvets provided could do with replacing as they were very thin."

The En-Suite nprequired some redecorating, the shower needed fresh sealant and some regrouting, the shower itself needed a could clean as when you removed the shower head the part that sits in the holder was built up with mould. The towel rail in the En-Suite was loose and needed fixing. The lodge smelt damp and we had to purchase air fresheners to try and remove the smell. Also one of the windows wouldn’t open in the twin bedroom. However the owner was very friendly and extremely helpful and we received a lovely welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, and soft drinks. The use of a BBQ was nice and the outside area was well kept. The games facilities were great and we made use of these. I feel that the owners need to spend a little bit of time in replacing bedding and fixing the few things I’ve mentioned.

Brookfield Lodge had everything you need and more although we didn’t use the kitchen much, they have thought of everything it was also much bigger than expected. Our party of four adults and one dog had more than enough room both inside and out with a good size enclosed patio and lawn area ideal for our dog which after a day out and the high temperatures we used until late in the evening, the lodge is ideal for guest in wheelchairs or with mobility issues the wet room was ideal, the games room was an added bonus even learnt how to play table tennis. We will definitely go back and would not hesitate in recommending to family and friends.
