"We had a lovely week in Riverhouse Lodge."
Only 2 of us stayed there but there was plenty of room for 4. The garden is very large and private, even though its a shared garden. There was only ever us in it.Plenty of room for any children to explore! The Riverhouse was really well equipped. We didn't go short of anything. Upwey is about 4 miles from Weymouth so you do need transport, but if you don't want to use the car, there are regular buses that run. Can definitely recommend the meals at The Ship Inn, just up the road, and a couple of miles away, and The Springhead Pub, at Sutton Pointz. So good for children and adults, garden overlooking the white horse on the hill, front overlooks a brook, outside pizza hut with a playground. Would happily return!

"We had a lovely welcome a couple of hours after our arrival, which worked well with us."
The property was well set up and comfortable for our week. Facilities were spot on throughout. All clean and tidy. Plenty of space to accommodate two couples. The garden is lovely to sit in and watch the birds. Ample parking off the road. A short walk down the road you can find a delightful Wishing Well cafe and garden, not to be missed.

"The lodge was lovely and spacious, a nice little getaway, not too far away from both Weymouth and Dorchester."
The hosts were very welcoming and we were greeted on arrival and wished well on departure. We would definitely stay again, and the garden has a gate that backs on to a large open field which is great for a game of football with little ones or a pleasant walk in the sunshine (if you just so happen to be lucky enough with the unpredictability of the British weather)

"We all had a lovely time at this cottage, and it is well positioned for day trips out."
The owners were perfect hosts, introducing themselves on our arrival and asking us to let them know if there was anything at all that we needed to let them know.
Although we only saw them on a few occasions, it was nice to know they were on hand if we needed them.
Definitely reccomend.

We met the owner Lorraine and she made us very welcome and asked if we needed anything. We will definitely be coming back here for another stay and highly recommend Riverhouse Lodge as the perfect place to stay.

"This is a lovely place to stay in a fantastic location, in a haven of peace between Dorchester and Weymouth, both of which offer plenty to see or do and with Dorchester Brewery Square now fully operational, plenty of food options."
The Upwey Wishing Well is great for a short walk.
This is the second time we have stayed and been blessed by fantastic weather for most of the week. The cottage itself is spacious and has everything we need, suitable for two couples, who want to chill, or use it as a base to explore the lovely area. The garden is a delight and enabled us to meet with friends and family from Kent, Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset in lovely surroundings. I would wholly recommend this as a place to stay.
We went to Lyme Regis, Maiden Castle, Dorchester Sculpture Park, Bennetts Water Park, as well as walking to Weymouth down the Wey Valley Walk, then getting the No.10 back from Weymouth Promenade, after obligatory ice cream at Rossi's. One day we just sat in the garden and enjoyed the surroundings.

"Riverhouse Lodge was very welcoming set in a lovely garden, it had everything we needed for our stay."
The owners Lorainne and her husband were there on our arrival gave us lots of advice on places to visit including the coastal road, and when we left came out to say goodbye.
Although the weather could have been better we found plenty of things to do.
We would highly recommend Riverside Lodge for a stay in Dorset, and we have done so already to friends and family

"Very spacious accommodation and well presented."
Extremely clean and more than adequately equipped with a delightful garden. Ideally located for exploring the Dorset coast both to the East and the West of Weymouth. Local walks are plentiful too. The owners were on hand should there have been any problems but there weren’t. Overall a lovely experience.

It would have been better to have blinds fitted to the door windows as light woke us up. There was no information in the cottage regarding recycling.

"We had a very enjoyable week's holiday here in July, the cottage is large, well furnished and everything is provided for a comfortable stay."
It was also extremely clean and the delightful owners, Lorraine and Roberto, had done all that they could to make it a safe place to stay. We had Sunday lunch at the lovely Wishing Well water gardens tea room, the weather was mostly good and we made use of the cottage garden. Only drawback to the holiday was the sheer number of crowds at every resort we visited, but to be expected at this time of year. We would recommend the cottage to others.

"Riverhouse Lodge is spacious and conveniently located."
Parking is ample with a good garden space. The kitchen was large and well equipped and living room and bedrooms spacious. The seating in the living room was plentiful and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful.
The only drawbacks were the lumpy beds and temperamental TV in the living room!
Overall we had a lovely time in the pretty village of Upwey which is very handy for Weymouth and other local attractions.
Booking with Sykes Cottages was excellent with them keeping us informed at all times.
Thank you for your valuable feedback and glad you found the property spacious and well equipped. Unfortunately, at the time of your stay we did have some bad weather and electric storms which did affect the transmission of the modern digital TV. Both of the mattresses on the beds are new, one is a medium orthopaedic and one is a well-known medium mattress, most people staying at the lodge have had no issues. We are sorry that our beds were not to your individual satisfaction Property Owner

"Riverhouse Lodge has a spacious, well equipped, airy kitchen with fridge /freezer of ample size, oven and hob, microwave and toaster; all crockery, pans and cutlery are provided for whatever meal one wants to cook."
The sitting room is pleasant with comfortable seating, large tv and dvd player; both bedrooms are of a good size, with plenty of matching storage space in each room, a tv in each room and a comfy chair and table. It was nicely decorated to a good standard throughout and very clean. Also information provided on the area and places to visit. The whole Lodge was decorated with appropriate paintings and photographs of the Dorest area. There was plenty of room for 3 adults to move around without being squashed. The garden is wonderful, a winning design, car parking space is off the road and has adequate space. Each bedroom has an ensuite; one of which is suitable for people with some disabilities as it has grab rails on the shower and it is a larger ensuite in this room (but remember there are 3 steps down into the kitchen). The electrics throughout and the lighting is all excellent, including security lights. The Lodge felt secure and is very well maintained.
Upwey is a very pretty village with the Wishing Well tearoom nearby - delicious meals all day. There are many interesting places to visit in the vicinity for day trips: Weymouth is a typical seaside town, very busy, but lovely sand. The Jurrassic Coast road is beautiful = Burton Bradstock beach ideal and Lyme Regis very interesting but very hilly. Inland - Hardy's Cottage and Lawrence of Arabia's cottage are both worth visits. We were lucky as we had a splendid week of weather, over 20 degrees each day of our stay.

"Firstly let me say it was an extremely comfortable and clean accommodation, but the bedrooms and the sitting room got very little natural light."
We had to have the lights on all the time, and the heavy net curtains didn,t help, so no views of the beautiful mediterranean style garden we were hoping to view from inside.Lighting needs to be much brighter if you want to read. Bathrooms very clean, but could not help wondering why the mirrors were positioned to the right of the wash basins and the shaving lights to the left. also no soap/shampoo holder in the shower cubicle. Solely because of the serious lack of natural light, We could not recommend this property
