Drake's Hideaway

Whilst the property was set in a quiet yet central location, parking on a Saturday was a major problem and indeed across the stay parking was very expensive.

The property on first impressions looked good, but cleanliness was not great in particular the stained sofa and throws. A bit of maintenance is also required for fixtures and fittings. The property is advertised as sleeps 4 and whilst the bedrooms were suitable the living space would barely be enough for 2 adults, 3 at a push.

First impression the car park at the back of the property is really busy so struggled to find a parking space to get our luggage then you walk up 3 steps and down an alley to the property the property was well maintained open plan kitchen dining and lounge the property well situated to the beach etc we parked mainly on the NCP but lyme regis is a lovely friendly place we will visit again

The accommodation is nice, excellent position in town.

However, listed as sleeping 4, you can only seat 2 normally sized humans on the sofa. If, as in our case, the 3rd person has to sit on either the floor or a dining room chair to watch television with the group. There are TVs in the bedrooms. There are no appliance instructions in the property, and you need a degree in computer science to work the oven. We downloaded the instructions, but even with those it was temperamental. It took 2 hours to cook oven chips at allegedly 200°C. Cooking anything on the hob set the smoke detector off; you didn’t need to burn anything. There is a window above the hob, but it is too high to reach to open. If you open the window in the kitchen/lounge prior to cooking, the smoke detector doesn’t go off, but in February that was a bit chilly. It’s a lovely quiet apartment for 2 people, but too small for anymore. If you don’t want to cook, it’s ideally situated for town and eateries.

Parking was a issue, could have done with more shelves in the bathroom, a very cosy apartment and would definitely book again.

Fantastic accommodation close to high street, beach.

Comfy beds and great shower room. Fully equipped kitchen if you wish to eat indoors. Everything is in walking distance. Would thoroughly recommend. We will return.

Lovely little apartment right in the centre of Lyme Regis.

Ideal location for exploring the town and surrounds, situated just of the main shopping street in a narrow pedestrian passageway. The apartment is compact, fine for two plus a dog but would be a squeeze for three or four. We used the spare bedroom for luggage since the main bedroom has little spare space. We made little use of the kitchen since we were so close to so many lovely restaurants. The directions were accurate but Drakes Way is difficult to locate as you drive past, and parking in Broad Street pretty much impossible. There is a car park (Broad Street Car Park) which is at the other end of Drakes Way which is ideal (if expensive) for unloading on arrival. I recommend that this is included in the directions sent to guests. We used JustPark for a nearby and much cheaper parking location for the duration of our stay.

We had a lovely stay although had a few issues with the lock on front door, often took a long time for it to open as you had to fiddle round with the key.

Also were no directions of what to do with filled up bin bags to dispose of them.

The apartment was very clean and well presented, we enjoyed the location.

The beds were comfortable and we slept well,on the whole enjoyable. I would not say that it is suitable for more than 2 adults, 3 adults were too much in the small space and the sofa wasn’t suitable for more than 2 adults to sit comfortably. The main issue was the parking, so expensive! On arrival we noticed in the car park that some apartments had issued parking permits, something to think about for Drakes Hideaway maybe?

The apartment is lovely, and within easy access to the beach, shops and cafes.

It was spotless, and the facilities good. The beds were comfortable but the settee needs replacing. The front door was charming, but the lock very difficult to use and very old. Difficult to sleep at night due to the noise from restaurants and people walking back to their cars. It was however a lovely break and we enjoyed it immensely.

This little flat was absolutely perfect for our stay.

Wonderfully comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. The gift basket was such a lovely touch and made us smile. We were in the middle of everything and super close to the beach. Absolutely would stay here again!

The property location was excellent, however parking was a bit of an issue .

But overall an amazing experience and we have already booked for next year

This property is perfect.

We had a wonderful stay. It is beautiful, with everything you need provided. There was even a basket filled with goodies and milk and water in the fridge, which was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend and stay here again.
