    Just two points, the garden could do with a little attention. The table was rusty and quite a few weeds. This did not detract from the stay. Loved the books and the gift boxes.

    "Corner House is a beautiful property, ideally situated with a short walk and your onto the esplanade."

    The hamper and milk given on arrival was a really nice welcome. The property is nicely decorated with a great eclectic mix and a homely feel, which was why we chose it. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and the bedrooms have very comfy beds. Having two bathrooms was a great plus for us being a group of two couples. The only downside was lack of wardrobe space especially for a long stay and a more comfy sofa would be nicer, but it wouldn’t put me off staying there again, we loved it.

    "We had a lovely stay in Weymouth at The Corner House."

    It suited us (family of four) perfectly. It was cosy, but never felt cramped. Great location for the beach, bus stop and attractions. There are a lot of plates and bowls everywhere. One minor piece of feedback would be to put some of these away and to leave some space for guests shopping, etc.

    "The house was generally clean, but lacked a few home comforts."

    The furniture was more for show than practicality and there was no to in the bedroom. The mirrors were all too low, so it was fine if you’re short. Supplies were limited and one toilet roll isn’t enough for a longer stay. If you’re billing a cottage as having amenities, you should warn guests that these supplies aren’t available. Parking is also problematic and far away. As far as decor is concerned it’s a quaint cottage vs modern amenities and nothing works well together. I was hoping for a place to relax for a few days but the house was uncomfortable unless you lay on the bed. The sofas were small, stained and impractical and nothing matched. I wouldn’t stay there again and would opt for a hotel next time.

We ensure that all photos are a true reflection of the design of, and furniture in, the property. The eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture is a design choice on the part of the owner . All Dream/Sykes Cottages are self-catering so providing 1 toilet roll is standard practice to cover guests for your arrival. The Corner House also offers a free welcome hamper which is not intended to provide supplies for a whole week’s stay. We do state on the listing that parking is not allocated and there are streets close by to the property where no parking permits are needed and parking is free. We do hope you will visit Weymouth in the future. Property Owner

    Beds very comfortable and house well equipped. Parking was occasionally difficult due to permits being necessary and it was very busy elsewhere locally to park however it was a bank holiday weekend

    "We had a wonderful few nights stay at The Corner House in August."

    The accommodation was beautifully decorated and clean. The mattresses and bedding were lovely and comfortable too which made for a good sleep after busy days in the sun. The kitchen is very well equipped if your a keen cook and there are books galore. We were blessed with sunshine, but on a dismal day it would be a lovely place to snuggle up with the log burner going and a book. The area is very convenient being just a few minutes to the sea front, bus stops and high street. The harbour is not to be missed, it's very pretty and has an array of bars and restaurants to enjoy a sundowner. The owners obviously want their guests to feel welcome, which is reflected in the overall standard of the decoration and little extras such as the welcome hamper and milk, thank you, much appreciated! We would book this accommodation again and are very happy to recommend it to others.

    "My 5 year old son and I had a fabulous stay at the corner house."

    It was so homely and well equipped. It is in excellent order and provided us with the perfect base for our holiday. The house is close to the esplanade and beach, just a couple minutes walk which was great. The sliding door between bedrooms and stairs upstairs was a brilliant idea and meant that I didn’t worry about my boy walking the wrong way out of his room at night. The courtyard was great for drying washing and to have an evening g&t in the sun. The only minor negative for me was the parking - I was able to park outside the property on the arrival and leaving dates for the permitted hour which was great. I left the car in the non-permit residential parking spaces which was a 5-10 min walk depending on how busy it was the rest of the time. A bit tricky with a 5 year old but manageable. The welcome local hamper and milk was very thoughtful. I would definitely stay again. Thank you.

    "Beautiful house, we felt at home from the very first moment!"

    It is lovingly furnished to a high standard like a real home and not like a holiday home. There is everything you need for everyday life and everything was spotlessly clean. On the cold evenings we enjoyed sitting by the wonderful wood-burning stove. Absolutely recommendable!

    "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Corner House."

    It is quite a strange mixture of old and new but very well fitted out and comfortable. There was everything we needed and more! The position is excellent, being only 5 mins walk to the Esplanade. We were able to find parking easily nearby and although there is a pub across the road, there was no noise from it. Thank-you for the Dorset hamper -- it was nice surprise!

The property

The Corner House is a charming end of terrace holiday home, conveniently located just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and near many other amenities in Weymouth, Dorset. Perfect for a family, a couple, or a small group of friends, this seaside escape offers the best of the region. As you arrive, step into the kitchen/diner which offers plenty of space for cooking and entertaining.

The dining table seats four or more and there is a dishwasher to help with the cleaning up. From here walk through to the spacious sitting room with plush seating, a Smart TV, woodburning stove and a fantastic selection of books to keep you entertained during the evenings. Make your way down the hall where a neat study area provides a space to work, should you need it, or even somewhere to unleash some creativity after an inspiring day exploring the glorious Dorset coast. Completing the ground floor is a shower room, fitted with a washing machine for your clothes and towels after a day at the beach. Climb the stairs when you're ready to turn in for the evening; a large double and a twin room invite you to rest, while the bathroom means you will have plenty of room to freshen up in the mornings. After making your morning coffee, why not sit out in the rear courtyard and take in some fresh air as you plan your itinerary for the day? You will have everything on your doorstep at The Corner House, with a wealth of shops to stock up on the essentials and a fantastic selection of pubs, bars and restaurants should you want a break from cooking. A short walk takes you to Weymouth’s seafront and its famous golden sands and shallow waters for a swim, or stroll along the Esplanade to Weymouth Pavilion or on to the Old Harbour or Nothe Gardens with its impressive Fort. Avid birdwatchers may want to venture to the nearby RSPB Lodmoor or take a trip to Portland to visit the bird observatory and field centre there. If you're ready to break away from Weymouth, head along the coast to Chesil Beach, for a long walk with beautiful views, finishing up in Abbotsbury Swannery.Or take the Jurassic Coaster bus service a little further to West Bay or Bridport (with its twice weekly markets) or onto Lyme Regis.

Or maybe visit Dorchester for the day, with its dinosaur museum and roman remains and vibrant market. The Corner House provides the perfect base for a Dorset seaside holiday.

Visit Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge”, only 7 miles away, or take a journey along the scenic coastal road and call in at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens.
