    “The property, location, friendly ...”

The property, location, friendly neighbours, are all very good, we had six adults and a baby in the place, and we were all comfortable. I would recommend this property on this basis. However, there are certain aspects that let it down, specifically, the pool table is very old and is propped up on one leg, and is not level. The TV is very old and had a line down one side, the kettle is badly silted up, the fridge wobbles badly. Some aspects of the rubbish from the previous visitors was not ...

The TV is very old and had a line down one side, the kettle is badly silted up, the fridge wobbles badly. Some aspects of the rubbish from the previous visitors was not removed prior to our arrival. If the maintenance aspects of the cottage were to be improved, then it would be a really tremendous holiday home. In summary its a great property, let down by inadequate maintenance.

The property

Situated in a peaceful location and surrounded by countryside, West Perry Hay is an attractive, spacious semi-detached property on the edge of the village of North Chideock.

Adjacent to a working farm with pigs, cows, sheep and goats, the friendly owners are happy to show you around and introduce you to the animals - wellies essential!

The whole house feels spacious, stylish and thoroughly well done.

The generous lounge is comfortable and to one end has a multi-games table which can be used for pool, table tennis or table hockey - perfect for those not so sunny days.

The enormous kitchen has plenty of space for the entire family to eat and be together around the farmhouse style table, or if you prefer, the more formal dining room.

On the first floor, three pretty bedrooms share two bathrooms.

On your doorstep are spectacular ‘Jurassic Coast’ scenery, including the National Trust's Golden Cap and the bustling market town of Bridport.

Slightly further afield are the seaside town of West Bay, backdrop to TV's Broadchurch, and Lyme Regis home to the iconic cob, where budding fossil hunters may hone their craft and search for ammonites on the pebble beach.

About the location

CHIDEOCK

Bridport 2 miles. Lyme Regis 7 miles. West Bay 4 miles.

The pretty village of Chideock (pronounced Chiddick) can be found straddling the main A35 road between Bridport and Honiton, in glorious West Dorset. Many of the quaint cottages lining the road are constructed of cob and the honey-coloured local sandstone. Lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the area has plenty of lovely walks, whilst just 1 mile away is Dorset's Jurassic Coast, famed for its fossils and ease of finding them, where a walk along the coastal path affords spectacular views across the sparkling waters of Lyme Bay towards Portland, Chisel beach and the Devon coast. A short drive east takes you to the ancient rope-making town of Bridport, and the harbour at West Bay, or venture west to visit the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis. An excellent holiday base from which to explore this scenic area.
