Another year at Admirals Retreat.

Location is great, near to the Nothe Fort and gardens with a ten minute walk into town and the beach. Big plus is the parking, however ,saying that, anything bigger than a medium hatch might prove difficult to park . Welcome pack containing washing liquid dishwasher tablets bin bag and cleaning cloths nice. Having tea coffee etc to get you going also very good, before having to go shopping. Very happy to find a couple of wooden garden seats outside the lounge. As we've been before we can see no signs of simple maintenance that would just make it that bit better. ie mouldy sealant round the bath. Still leaks when having a shower. But more importantly being able to open the side windows which are still tapped up with sticky tape. Issues aside the property is still very nice and they didn't detract from our stay. I would still recommend this property to couples and given five stars for everything had above issues been addressed over the year . Just as a side note. It was very hot which was lovely being on holiday but not trying to sleep. Might be nice to have a fan available.

We really enjoyed the lovely apartment.

It was very quiet despite being the school holidays and it was in a very pleasant area The only little problem was that the parking space was very small and difficult to get into. We rented apartment 19 and once apartment 20 was occupied it was virtually impossible to get our car out. I accept that maybe other people are better at manoeuvring in tight spaces than us

Can't fault it, it's lovely.

We have stayed at Admiral's Retreat for several years and absolutely love this cosy apartment and its location.

I'm really sorry to say that we've noticed the facilities and cleanliness lacking a little on our last few visits. I appreciate there is often a really short turnaround window between guests but on our last two visits, we feel we have left the property cleaner than we found it on arrival.

We loved Admirals Retreat, it's great that it has parking, which would've been tight if there were more cars there.

The flat was generally clean, but you could see a lot of dust and hairs under the sofa's (especially when the sun shone in). Although it's not your fault, an upstairs neighbour has very heavy footsteps, which can be annoying at midnight. Overall, we liked it and would go again

First time at Admirals Retreat.

Very happy with the location and apartment with the added advantage of the sea view. The welcome and cleaning pack were very much appreciated and a nice touch. The place had everything you could need. Only slight negative if any was parking in the corner can be a little tight if the neighbour has a large car. Maintenance is needed in the bathroom to replace the very mouldy bath seals which let's the place down. Pity as such a quick fix. Metal bench outside is dangerous and should be replaced or taken away. Fell apart when we sat on it. Cleaners said they would let the office know. Small negatives aside we would recommend Admirals Retreat and certainly return again

Excellent as always

The actual apartment was wonderful, just what we had hoped for.

The biggest downside was the very tight parking space which took several manoeuvres to get into, and the same to get out of. We were unable to reverse into it as we needed access to the boot constantly, for my husbands mobility scooter. So sadly, I won’t be booking this property again, although we really liked it. Also the key safe was difficult to access, and replace even with the help of other guests!

Lovely property, great location, short walk to harbour and town.

Apartment is ideal for a couple, very spacious and comfortable. The squirrels and birds come to visit on the patio. Great view of Portland from patio.

Issue with ants, some attention to detail needed but an ideally placed holiday home and the weather definitely made the holiday. The old harbour is lovely and generally Weymouth a friendly place

Admirals Retreat is a lovely property and is ideally located for all amenities in Weymouth and surrounding areas.

We feel the cleaning needs to be improved considerably and that the property requires a thorough deep clean to include the oven and windows! The sofas were very tired looking and saggy were most uncomfortable and definitely need to be replaced.

Really enjoyed the stay, very close to the old harbour which was great.

I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Things I would change, it could do with a deep clean as there were quite a few cobwebs on light fittings and lots of dust under the sofa's. The sofa's could do with being changed as they were very soft and dipped so quite uncomfortable. We were only provided with one flimsy toilet roll so had to buy our own. Could do with some baking trays, kitchen roll and a kitchen hand towel as was only provided with one tea towel/drying up towel. Parking was good to have but quite tight if you have a medium sized/plus car. Just a bit more attention to detail would be a 5 star rating.

Spacious comfortable apartment with the exception of the sofas which are old and saggy and definitely need replacement.

Very conveniently situated, just a short walk from the harbourside, town and some nice walks. It also comes with the all important parking space, very necessary as Weymouth parking charges are astronomical!

OK - parking a bit tight for medium sized vehicles.

Great location, very quiet area.

Although the dishwasher did break, it was remedied straightaway which is great customer service. Admirals Retreat well soundproofed, we couldn't hear any of the neighbours. It's extremely comfortable, perfect for a quiet holiday.

Location was excellent - close to the harbour and the nightlife.

Only drawback was the access to town was via a very steep hill which was not stated. We are approaching 80 years with the wife suffering from arthritis. Other than that a very enjoyable stay.

Admirals Retreat was a lovely apartment in a great location.

It was an ideal size and we had everything we needed. However, the bed was most uncomfortable and I'm afraid that this spoilt our stay as we could not get a good nights sleep. One side of the mattress dipped / sloped to the outer edge - near to the window. I am not sure what has happened to it (as most old beds tend to dip in the middle) but you have to be careful you don't fall out of bed! My husband and I both tried it and both nearly fell out. So uncomfortable and such a shame as otherwise it would be a great apartment.

Fabulous place to stay near relaxing places to walk to with lovely views.

Lovely flat in a quiet location within walking distance of restaurants, places to visit and the coastal path.

Loved waking up to birdsong. Ditch the car and enjoy Weymouth including Nothe Fort or have a drive over to Portland for the castle and the lighthouse. Designated parking space a bonus.

Lovely apartment everything you needed

Very nice apartment in a great location.

We were very pleased and had a great holiday. I hope you found your property near and tidy after we left.

The accommodation was very clean, modern and comfortable.

Initially, there was a problem with the heating system, but that was very quickly sorted out with Dream Cottages. The only minor criticism is that we needed more than 2 dishwasher tablets and the crockery was limited, especially for use in the microwave.

Clean on the surface but lots of built up dust on areas ie: skirting, under sofa and bed, the large pile rug was full of hair, feathers and fluff, the feathers constantly coming out of cushions.

We could not open the french doors in lounge as there’s a notice on them advising not to, would have been a huge problem in summer months. The grill glass door full of dust in between, needs a good clean.

Brilliant location for exploring coastal walks around Weymouth Bay to Portland.

Access to town with all its restaurants, pubs and shops. Flat is clean comfortable and warm with lovely views across to Portland. Great any time of year?

Clean & tidy apartment with everything we needed.

One small niggle - Feathers were coming out of the scatter cushions on sofa. Parking space was a little tight, but it was nice to have off road parking. Short walk to the harbour & into Weymouth town centre. All in all we would stay there again.

Beautiful flat in excellent position for Weymouth facilities.

View across garden to Portland and Chesil Beach lovely to wake up to. Only one minor. gripe I struggled with the key press. Hard to see numbers, quite high up and I had to move dustbin to be able to reach. However lovely flat, great holiday and I am sure I will be back.

What more can we say, we booked it again when we were there this year for next year.

We very much enjoyed the location of the apartment.

Very disappointed in the 3 small sachets of milk which was left for us. We arrived at midnight and could have done with a bit more being left for us. Must also say that the kettle needs a good clean or replacing. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay

Great quiet location, spotlessly clean will book for next year.

Only gripe was finding the box with the key. it took me some time to get the key as it was not particularly easy to locate.

All in all wonderful.

Very nice place in a gated area but no fob to open the gate had to key in the code everytime to get in and the parking area is very tight, the property is very modern and clean with a shared garden but there are no blinds so people can see in.

Property exactly as described, my husband thought your pictures didn't do it justice. Great location, lovely and quiet.

It was lovely we liked the area by Nothe Gardens and we could see the sea and over to Portland.

It was lovely for walking down to Weymouth harbour.

Its a beautiful spot and Admirals Retreat had everything you could need for a lovely holiday, everything is to a high standard, which is why we choose to go with Sykes cottages again for this holiday.

And will be looking to book with tgem again for our next holiday.

Excellent and comfortable heating. Easy access to town of Weymouth and coastal walks. Loo flush was a bit temperamental!

As we have stayed here before, we knew what to expect.

We feel that the apartment needs refurbishing for what we pay, it is the same as it was when We first went to it 10 years ago, and it really is a shame because we love it.

The apartment is spacious, airy, very clean and quiet.

Furnished and equipped to show room standard. The only disappointment was lack of all-weather patio chairs and standard, old (judging by the remote) smallish size TV. The Smart TV set with BBC I player etc. would enhance the experience, as the weather was not great during our stay. The apartment is facing south east and it would be so pleasant to use the patio, if chairs were provided, as they are indeed for the apartment next door. The location is fantastic, but approach on foot is uphill all the way from the Old Harbour, about 10 min walking. Saying that I have seen people in the wheelchairs powering up the hill to the Nothe Fort… The maintenance below standard. 5 light bulbs in various light fittings did not work.

Overall we thought the holiday was excellent and would be happy to return for another holiday.

The location is close to everything that Weymouth has to offer but in a nice quiet location 5 min from Harbour. We thought the apartment was a perfect size for us , cleaned nicely and well equipped. The information provide for directions and access arrangements were excellent. These are areas that could be improved and would have allowed me to give a 5 star rating. The long pile carpet in the lounge I don’t think is suitable it holds dirt and is difficult to clean.either the vacuum cleaner or the carpet had a nasty smell when we hovered it. The back of bathroom door bottom half is dirty and the corners in the bathroom a bit grubby The bed seemed to be comfortable but after a while it sagged to the outside. We had a good holiday and would be happy to return and recommend to friends.

Admirals Retreat is a brilliant location.

Ideal for coastal walks and trips into town! The accommodation is cosy, warm and comfortable with plent of space in the kitchen and bedroom wardrobes/ cupboards. The views across to Portland are expansive - great sunrises. We arrived as Boris was announcing lockdown .2, and stayed to enjoy our week, weather was dry and sunny! Great autumn break.

The only thing that would of improved it for us on a personal note being 60 plus would of being able to have a bench outside the lounge door to sit outside.

Noticed our neighbours had them and thought a nice touch that property was also a Sykes has our friends had it last year.

Great holiday apartment, lovely location have stayed on a few occasions.

Parking is a bit tricky when car park is full.

My only criticism of the beautiful apartment, was I feel there should be maybe a voile in the bedroom window to afford a little privacy as you share the outside space with another apartment.

Other than that, it was very spacious and well equipped .

Shared garden was more a shared mountain parking very tight when got the car into the space I had great difficulty getting out of the car.

All that glitters is not Gold.

First impressions were very good but faded over the week. Kitchen cupboard facias are lifting off and soft furnishings are showing signs of wear. The car parking is a joke and unless you have a very small car trying to manoeuvre to park is difficult. Positive is that apartment is well located for access to the old port.

Lovely apartment for two in a great location.

A few cobwebs here and there and a strange smell on entering the apartment, a bit like stale perfume.

Great location though.

It's a fair walk to the beach, but is quiet and secure.

Think the two settees are ready for replacing as both very soft with little support and hard to get out of. The mattress too was too soft and bouncy with little lumber support.Disappointed that with the money it cost we had to buy toilet rolls and use the same towels for the entire week.We have made enquiries about next years availability and are really disappointed that the cost for a week has shot up by £164.And it is no longer possible to book in the local office but through the office in Chester who I have to say didn't give us the promised call back.So unfortunately after several years dealing with Dream Cottages we and our extended family will be making alternative arrangements for future visits to Weymouth.Thanks go to the Weymouth office staff for their efficient help in the past.

Good location , spacious property and great views of Portland and Newton's Cove.

Not suitable for persons who have restricted mobility. One downfall was the large groups of youths who congregate in the public gardens along Newton's cove, lots of screaming and shouting relating to alcohol and drug misuse.

A very nice apartment but needs some attention.

The TV is old and not up to standard as it does not have streaming nor IPlayer , itv hub, ability to record directly etc. It is expected now and should be addressed immediately. Dream Cottages were very good and provided replacent towels as those provided were like sandpaper, along with a casserole dish, our thanks to them. The heating controls were incomprehensible too. But it was a nice place to stay and we would return.

The apartment was lovely but the bedroom window looked out on a shared grassy area, so strangers could have looked in.

The main draw back was that the parking space was extremely tight; I was lucky that no-one was using the next space but if they had I would have struggled to get in and out.

The apartment was very comfortable, and the location was lovely, but the lack of control of the heating and temperature was an issue.

The heating didn't come on in the morning and when it did come on at lunchtime, there was no way to control the temperature - it got too hot in the evening. This needs rectifying. Otherwise, very happy. I think you should pass this feedback to the owner.

A very comfortable modern apartment in a great position for very easy walking access to town. In a quiet "out of town", position, but only 5 minutes walk to town, where there are many excellent eating and drinking places. My personal favourite being the Handmade Pie and Ale House, but this takes 20 minutes to walk to because it's at the other side of the town from the apartment - stayed October 2016
