    Very comfortable with everything we needed for the week. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The shower system is incredibly loud, so wouldn't be able to use it if anyone was asleep! We would definitely stay here again as was great.

  • "Very clean and comfy if we had one complaint it was about the boiler it was extremely noisy when one of us was in the shower to the point that you couldn’t hear the TV or radio when someone was using it , also need to put hand towel in downstairs toilet ."

  • "We have stayed a couple of times."

    Location and accommodation for two of us is excellent, also safe gated parking. The property was really clean which was really pleasing as a lot of places we have stayed at have been disappointing. 10 out 10 for the cleaner or cleaner's.

  • "The only complaint we had was the all the coffee mugs were stained and dirty and we had to clean them before we could use them."

  • "We had a lovely stay at Melanie's cottage."

    A couple of points that may be useful going forward: 1/ Providing a hand towel for the downstairs cloakroom would be a nice touch. 2/ The boiler makes a very loud noise when the shower is being used which makes it impossible for someone to have a shower whilst anybody is still asleep. I am sure this cannot be correct so a maintenance visit may be required? 3/ There are only three dinner plates as far as we could see. 4/ The fridge freezer was quite iced up so may need a defrost at some point.

    We are glad you enjoyed your visit to Melanie’s Cottage and hopefully also to Weymouth! In order to provide guests with a high pressure shower we have fitted a power shower pump, which we believe is the noise you could hear. We are sorry that you were unable to find the plates. The cottage is equipped with a generous range of crockery including two sets of dinner plates, side plates and bowls as well as a wide range of glassware for all occasions!   • "My third year at Melanie's cottage which speaks for itself."

    I should get a discount for my fourth year! The cottage is everything you could wish for. This year I had an issue with mobility and awaiting an operation. The Land Train just outside the compound was an excellent way of getting to the seafront and back. The cottage provided me with an excellent break for the week. Having a parking space outside the front door is a big bonus for those trips around the area. Would highly recommend this property and look forward to a return for the fourth time.

  • "Couldn't get heating to work , had to call someone out ."

    Noticed no plug for the kitchen sink . Great location , very close to all facilities. Would definitely recommend to stay here .

  • "Fantastic week stay at Melanie's cottage."

    Was perfect for the 3 of us. (2 adults and one child). It had everything we needed. The location was excellent. The only minor thing I would say and this is just being picky, I would say the seating in the lounge area isn't very comfy. But it wasn't an issue. We would definitely book again.

Melanie's Cottage is a charming two-bedroom mews-style house situated in the gated development of Kellaway Court, Brewers Quay, Weymouth.

Ideal for a couple or small family, this bright and airy home is conveniently located in the heart of Weymouth, with all the home comforts needed for a wonderful self-catering stay.

This stylish property is well-equipped and boasts a contemporary kitchen/diner, making it perfect for allowing you to involve your children in helping prepare a tasty treat to enjoy in the evening.

When it is time to relax, make your way to the sitting room, and cosy up to watch TV with your loved ones.

As the evening draws to a close, rest your head in one of two bedrooms, a king and a twin, each decorated in calming neutral tones and complete with storage for your belongings.

Wake up with a refreshing shower in the sleek shower room, before heading outside to the front of the house, where you will find a small patio area to allow you to soak up the summer sun and plan your day of adventures over a cup of coffee.

The colourful harbourside and marina is just a short walk away; Cross over the hydraulically-operated harbour bridge, which is raised every two hours, 363 days of the year and still one of Weymouth's most iconic features.

Why not take the gentle rowing ferry across to the other side of the harbourside where a short journey will lead to the choice of visiting Weymouth’s famous beautiful beach, and whilst there, take advantage of the well-stocked amenities in and around the main shopping area, including well known high street stores alongside quaint and independent shops.

Also within easy reach are the pretty Nothe Gardens and Newton's Cove, with rock pools, perfect for finding the hidden gems of sea life; find a bench and admire the breath taking sea views over to the Isle of Portland.

Further afield, why not explore the Dorset Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on foot or by bicycle, or venture into the county town of Dorchester to brush up on your local history at the Dorset Museum.

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!

Note: Fayre In The Square (usually late May Bank Holiday weekend each year) and Wessex Folk Festival (usually first weekend of Jun each year, and the Seafood Festival (usually a weekend in July). These fantastic free festivals see the harbour and Hope Square closed to traffic. With live music, entertainment and stalls throughout the weekend. This may cause some inconvenience due to some road closures and parking restrictions. Should you require any further assistance or clarification on this please do not hesitate to contact us.
