Norden Cottage

The location is very beautiful, the cottage is wonderful and clean.

It is such a pleasure to spend a few days there and wake up in the morning with birds singing in the background and, from time to time, the sound of horses’ hooves. Honestly, I hadn’t heard horses trotting since I was a child.

The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed.

The double bed was very comfortable, the bath was a winner with my wife!! The downstairs wood burning fire created a comfy atmosphere where at night, we both could catch up with our reading, helped aswell by the quiet surroundings. The dogs loved the garden and it was great that it was fully enclosed. The kitchen was well provided with everything you would need to make meals, saucepans, oven trays, utensils etc. We both very much enjoyed our stay, thank you. Just FYI the kitchen tap was constantly dripping and the oven temperature dial was not functioning correctly, so it was a bit hit and miss. I only bring these to your attention so you are aware and not to complain as they did not affect our stay.

A lovely little cottage in a quiet location, but still close enough to surrounding beaches and places of interest to visit.

the cottage has everything you need for a very enjoyable stay,I stayed with my wife sister in law daughter and granddaughter plus 2 dogs,the garden was very secure for my two dogs unless your dog is Houdini . So all in all we had a lovely relaxing week,there is a lovely chip shop called straceys a short drive away and Weymouth with all it has is a 15 minute drive away and.would definitely recommend a stay here if you like peace and quiet.

The cottage was lovely clean spacious and very homely lovely welcome tray of biscuits and coffee which much appreciated The parking space little overhung by trees had to clean roof daily of bird poop tree sap and falling leaves but overall car was safe from traffic on what is a very narrow lane .

The only downside which aware the cottage’s owners have no control over is the unfriendly neighbours and surrounding neighbours we attempted several times to speak , smile , nod to all we passed or met while walking around the village with the dog only to be ignored or have them look at us as if we had no right to be there We traveled all around Dorset throughout our stay and everywhere we went people nodded or smiled/ spoke when passing so must just be Osmington not impressed

Fantastic cottage, my only down side was the mattresses were a little too soft for me and the downstairs bathroom often can with nextdoors dog having a peek.

The house is in a nice, quiet location in Dorset's answer to the Cotswolds.

The surrounding area is beautiful with various places of interest either on the doorstep or a short drive away. The house itself was perfect. The right size, everything needed to make the week's stay comfortable. The only negative feedback I would give is that in the information folder it says to respect neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum, yet the locals don't seem to have the same courtesy for holiday makers trying to have a quiet break away; early morning horse riders, drunk neighbours and dog barking. As nice as the house was, and though the setting was very nice, I don't believe that I would stay again but appreciate the opportunity to be able to share in this idyllic property with my family.

Has a family of 4 I think a rethink of the bathroom would help a shower over the bath was very difficult for tall people the room was mouldy because there was no fan and the window opened up on to the next door garden.

There was no tumble dryer and no instructions on how to work the heating. The cottage was lovely with some nice features beds were comfy and the garden was great especially for the dogs would revisit in the future

This is a lovely cottage.

There were a couple of small issues, but nothing that seriously affected our stay. The ceilings were lower than expected, that meant two of us regularly bumped heads. Perhaps a warning to say that anyone over 5' 9" might have problems with the kitchen beams and upstairs bathroom would be helpful; but we got used to it. The front door was very drafty (bearing in mind this was 1st March and -3c overnight!) I would recommend a full-sized curtain over the front door would really help, especially with the cottage being non- double-glazed; though the heating was very good and the wood-burner excellent. The lack of TV aerial for terrestrial TV I felt wasn't good enough, especially again being March, and we were in for the long dark evenings. We're older people (and the sort that the cottage would really appeal to, IMHO), so we don't have Netflix etc accounts to use (nor want them), though internet provision was excellent. Shame there's no dishwasher but the kitchen is quite small; but it's otherwise quite well laid out and practical. Parking was a little tight for two larger cars, and could be improved a little by widening the entrance, but we coped. The pillows on the comfortable main bed were a little tired, and an option of feather pillows would be luxurious; but we all slept very well. You might need face-masks as the shutters, whilst attractive, didn't keep the sun out well in the mornings. The settees could do with a few more cushions, as they are very deep, even for us tall people! But these are small things for a holiday cottage for a few days, these changes would make an excellent cottage just perfect. We got really lucky with the weather, four glorious days, even sitting in the pretty garden during the day (again it was the start of March!). I would truly recommend this cottage to anyone that wants peace-and-quiet and somewhere comfortable to stay. The walk up to the nearby white horse was lovely. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Arrived to flint pathway to the most beautiful characterful stone property set in a well proportioned country garden.

The property is well maintained and is quite well equipped and everything works..It felt like home instantly and was a pleasure to be there..SO QUIET!! Shhh...! Only a very few cars past every day.Also perfect distance to all sights and places of interest.I thoroughly enjoyed my week and didn't want to leave..!! So relaxing... I apologise for the bin not being emptied outside? Bin men didn't collect.I have no idea why....sorry I would highly recommend your cottage to anyone..thankyou for letting us stay.. Bye Tom C

Norden cottage was beautiful, comfortable and homely, everything you need and nice large bath for relaxing after a long walk, close to so many great days out, lovely welcome package on arrival and lots of information leaflets, thank you Norden cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at Norden Cottage.

This is a characterful cottage set in a scenic and tranquil location but within easy reach of amenities and a great base to tour round this spectacular area of Dorset. The cottage is very well equipped and the sun trap garden was a great space to relax in after a day out touring. It’s also very doggy friendly with walks across beautiful countryside right opposite the cottage and doggy treats included in a generous welcome pack including milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. Osmington is a lovely village to stay in and this was a fabulous cottage situated on a picture postcard country lane surrounded by hills and near to the coastline. We’ve had an amazing holiday here and we hope to return again soon.

..and treats for the dog. The village is a quaint English village with many thatched cottages and barn conversions. It is possible to walk straight from the cottage across fields to the coast. A short drive and you can see Corfe Castle , Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and much more. In the evening we enjoyed lighting the wood burning stove (logs and kindling supplied) and watching a film. A mop and bucket would have helped to keep the floor clean when entering on a rainy day. We would recommend this cottage to couples and families and their dogs!
