Description

Coastguard View is a delightful holiday cottage set right by the coast in Portland Bill on the Isle of Portland.

This retreat offers guests a great location with views out to sea as well as a handy open-plan living space.

As you step inside, you'll discover the main area which consists of the kitchen, dining and sitting areas in one seamless flow.

Here, you can whip up home-cooked delights, share these creations around the dining table and then unwind with your favourite shows and films on the Smart TV.

Make the most of the sun and dine al fresco style out on your private patio while you plan where your adventures are going to take you next!

Once the sun goes down, unwind with a steamy soak to relax your muscles before getting tucked in.

Waiting for you will be a well-appointed double bedroom and a twin for you to catch your rest in.

Venture out to the many scenic spots along the coast such as Pulpit Rock which is a great place for pictures as well as taking in the ambience of the crashing waves.

Rufus Castle and Blacknor Fort will be a must-see for anyone who's interested in the local historical landmarks.

Travel beyond the Isle of Portland to places like Weymouth where you can take a stroll along the beach, have some fun at Alexandra Gardens and witness some exotic wildlife at SEA LIFE Centre Weymouth.

Sporty guests can keep up on their golf practice at places like Wessex Golf Centre.

Finally, enjoy the 18th-century Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens with rare plants and notable magnolia before heading back home and enjoying some pub grub at one of the many pubs in Portland.

Enjoy all of this and much more at Coastguard View.

A wonderful location, at the top of a hill with amazing views all round of the sea.

Unusual looking from the outside as an ex MoD bunkerhouse but has all mod cons inside - and very comfy beds. We originally selected it partly due to its downstairs bedroom and bathroom as one of us had walking problems, but it is perfect for anyone who just wants a quiet place to relax with captivating sea views. Loved the South-facing patio with large table sheltered from the Westerly winds. A bonus for bird watchers like us was having the Bird Observatory lighthouse a 10 minute walk away. Lovely, friendly hosts too, ready to help at the end of a phone. Stella

Fantastic unique location with lovely sea views.

Great for sea and bird watchers. Owners lovely when we arrived and happy to help. Lovely well appointed holiday accommodation and we had a very comfortable stay, however the accommodation is attached to a bunk house so there can be some additional noise (internal and external) at times when it is busy

Beautiful location, able to see the sea on three sides from indoors and the clean patio.

Pristinely clean, and a high standard of decor - seemed really newly refurbished. Thoughtfully furnished to make for a very comfortable stay. Really comfy beds. Remarkable location - evening walks on the SW coastal path which is minutes from the cottage. Easy walk to two local pubs with great food and atmosphere (eight kings and the pulpit). Peaceful without being too isolated, with a few homes and three lighthouses visible from the cottage. Tourists come during the day but not too many, and of an evening the place seemed mostly populated by local people which was nice. The working lighthouse tour was really good and includes both history and a bit of the science. We also visited Chesil beach (the cove inn there was very nice), Weymouth (fun thriving seaside town with a clean, sandy beach), Nothe fort for the eclipse, Lulworth Cove (bit busy for us) and did a few sections of the SW coastal path inc the Durdle Door walk. It was easy to do all this in the three days we had.
