The house is just perfect for a Weymouth holiday.

Well appointed, clean, and comfortable, lovely new sofas, chair and window seat in the front room.

The property is one of the best we've ever stayed in.

The views overlooking the harbour was just beautiful and although it can get quite busy was still very peaceful when we stayed there. The property itself is stunning and very comfortable over 3 floors with enough bathrooms to keep everyone happy. The only downside was the shower in the main bathroom which sprayed everywhere in different directions but that was the only thing, other than that we would recommend anyone staying there.

We had a lovely stay at buccaneer cottage, it was clean and comfortable and the most perfect location on the harbour.

We have just returned from a perfect week at Bucaneer Cottage.

Wonderful position on the Quay to watch the boats . A nice spot with very little traffic going past. Walking distance to everything . Clean and tidy with everything you need for a great holiday including a bathroom for every bedroom. Couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be returning later in the year .

Beautiful dual aspect harbour views from comfortable sitting room we loved the Christmas decs/lights too!

Comfortable beds & bedrooms with 3 bathrooms so plenty of room and well equipped kitchen and dining area. We were lucky to park right outside with free permit provided as we loved the historic harbour & great pubs nearby as Weymouth has so much to explore with long sandy beach too!

Buccaneer Cottage is perfectly placed on the harbour.

Near to the beach and the town with its pubs and eating places. Nothe Park and Fort are just 5 minutes walk away for the dog to exercise. Good size bedrooms and living area. We had an issue with the light in the downstairs bathroom which was fixed on the day we reported it. Cannot fault the service. Highly recommended. We would stay again .

only downside was the dirty carpet as you entered the front door, suggest changing it to something more serviceable for this area.

This was our second year at Buccaneer Cottage .

The accommodation suits us well and we enjoy looking over the harbour there is always something going on. As far as the amenities go there is a shop around the corner and a very good pub/restaurant at the Northe Tavern. For snacks and beverages they are many eating places overlooking the harbour. Plenty of walks and a trip into town is recommended. We will be returning next year.

Another fabulous week at the cottage.

Beds and bedding are fabulous, so fresh & comfortable. Love the harbour views. Kitchen perfectly equipped & really appreciated the items left for us. If possible seating in lounge could be improved, current sofa and chairs look good butare not the most comfortable & only seat 5 out of 6 guests adequately. There is a long padded bench seat but not ideal after a long day out walking etc. we do love the cottage though & having a bathroom for each bedroom is a huge bonus!

Lovely accommodation great location and amazing views.

The cottage had everything we needed and access and parking instructions were simple and straightforward. The only downside was the steepness of the stairs to the third floor.

Very disappointed with this property.

Would not stay there again or recommend it but would go back to Weymouth as love it there but in a different house. No lights in upstairs hall or dining table but (easy maintenance issue). On the surface it was ok but it needed a deep clean. Downstairs carpets were filthy as were mats in bedrooms. En-suite bathroom and loft bathroom dirty. Toilet brushes were minging and shower heads, tiles in en suite dirty. Saving grace was first floor settee, carpet was new but everywhere else was tired, dirty. I knew there was no garden but could do with a clothes rack as would only put towels, bedding in a dryer not clothes. Location, parking permit and lounge are great but everything else not so good.

Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location!

All the amenities you need. Bathrooms could do with a bit of an update and I think where it is a pet friendly property the carpets are perhaps retaining an odour because of this and pet hair was visible. This wouldn't stop me returning though as it's a lovely property!

Another lovely stay at the Buccaneer.

Fantastic location. The new sofa and chairs are a welcome addition. There is now a seat by one of the lounge windows, so you can enjoy the views in comfort.

we have stayed at the property for a few years now, always a very lovely stay the house is everything we love.

the improvements made to it are always really nice. This year new fridge, tv and carpets in some areas.

Lovely location and good accomodation will book again

Fantastic place to stay comfortable, clean and will definitely use again.

Cottage was exactly as described, however we felt that the late arrival and early leave is unfair as you pay for the whole day but only get the evening on arrival.

Overall the house was pleasant and our stay was good, only recommendation would be to replace the blinds with black out blinds as we were all woken up early from the sunlight.

This was our fourth stay at the Buccaneer.

When we arrived there were a few cleanliness issues, the coffee table was very dirty, it clearly hadn’t been cleaned, and there was dust on the tv unit. The whole cottage really needs a deep clean. The carpets are stained. The temperature knob on the shower, in the en suite bathroom on the ground floor has either broken or been set in one position, which means you cannot alter the temperature up or down. We found the temperature too cool. Although we were very disappointed by these issues, we intend to book the cottage again, this is due to the perfect location that it has.

Overall, we all enjoyed our stay at Buccaneer Cottage and would stay there again in the future.

However, there were a few minor details, one of which had been mentioned in the reviews back in July (fridge door shelf), which we would bring to your attention: 1) Arm covers on settee and armchairs were dirty and unnecessary. 2) We could not find the power cable for the DVD player. 3) One of the window blinds in the top floor bedroom would not retract easily. 4) Some of the doors seem to close quite violently, presenting a finger trap danger (especially for smaller hands) perhaps investment in finger guards might prevent the possibility of a nasty accident. The provision of a parking permit and an extra key was most welcome. We had 2 cars, but managed to find on street parking for the second one nearby without any problems.

Location perfect , house really nice everything you need , woukd just say the living room needs but of a face lift & furniture is needing a good clean /replacement .

well positioned but Getting a Nightmare Cleanliness was not up to Standard

The location of the property was fantastic but the cleanliness was below standard with dog hair on floors, lounge chairs requiring a deep clean.

Vacuum cleaner bag was full and there was no bag left to replace. Roller on vacuum required significant cleaning as full of wrapped hair. Shower not draining in loft bathroom and required drain removing and again significant hair removed. Mould in loft bathroom. Unable to use boots door shelf of the refrigerator as it was broken so any bottles had to be laid down taking up significant room in the small refrigerator.

Lovely place great location, fridge door was broken had bottom tray missing so made it difficult to store milk , needs more crockery and cutlery so the dishwasher could be put on when full , some kind of squeegee for the walk in shower rooms would be a good idea, but those are only little things and our stay was brilliant, apart from those things 5 star

the property has all you need to enable a fantastic holiday and couldn't be better situated.

It allows dogs but you wouldn't tell any difference to a property that doesn't.

The only downside at all was the pillows on the bed in the attic.

Everything else was amazing. There were a few cobwebs here and there, but that wasn't an issue at all. I would definitely stay there again. Fabulous view and a lovely welcome gift of milk and biscuits on arrival.

Great location, lovely comfortable cottage.

This was our second stay at the cottage. We had a great week, and have booked to return again next month for our ‘mini-moon’. We had a problem with the boiler, which meant we had no hot water for an evening/night/morning. We called the emergency contact number and the problem was resolved quickly. Thank you.

Fantastic location and comfortable as home from home.

Very clean and all facilities a family needs for a fun holiday. Great that it is pet friendly, took our dog, child and a grandparent with us and we all had a fabulous time! Second time we have stayed here and will definitely be back.

We had a very comfortable relaxing stay at Buccaneer cottage.

Arranged over 3 floors, we can see why the middle floor is the living area, lovely views day and night across the harbour. Thanks for leaving the menu and recommending The Red Lion pub which is just behind the property, we went there more than once and enjoyed the seafood and varied menu. Dog walks in the local park which is about two minutes walk were great for a quick morning or afternoon walk and there were many walks you can do of varying length including Chesil beach, Portland, Weymouth beach and a bird sanctuary to name a few. Lots of shops in Weymouth to suit every budget from small businesses to Marks and Spencer, and some lovely quirky shops with things you never knew you needed. Plenty of places to eat and drink. The Guerka restaurant was very enjoyable and The Crab cafe was very memorable. We were always nice and warm in the cottage and sleeping on the top floor gave us some additional incredible views of the harbour all lit up at night.

Stay here when old owner had it few changes furniture old but comfortable beds very comfortable nice touch with Christmas tree when we arrive milk biscuits heating on very welcoming Lovely stay thanks agin

Excellent location with great views of the harbour.

Good facilities with everything we needed and it was lovely to have milk, tea and coffee available for us on arrival. Chairs and settee are well worn but this adds to the authenticity of the house. It was clean and welcoming. We had a lovely stay.

lovely stay ,buccaneer is comfortable just needs the oven fixing {most likely the element } and a bit of tlc ,still would book again .

Firstly the property is in a lovely location and has lots of character.

Let's get into the nitty gritty - the shower in the ensuite in the downstairs double was covered in grime like it hadn't been cleaned for about a year, it had a toilet brush with excrement running down the sides and encrusted on the brush, the carpets smelt of wee and had big patches on, the walls had big patches of crusty paint and dirty hand marks, the blue chair upstairs smelt Victorian and of cigarettes, some of the furniture is falling apart. We went to Sykes office and showed them photos where they told us it wasn't acceptable and they would be contacting the owner. We then sent a complaint and have been told that ' the mess was made by us, we left the place in a state and left a fish in the microwave (this was accidentally a fish and chips box regrettably). If I could put the photos on here you would see that the grime and excrement were not made in a day and the disgusting attitude of these owners is appalling I will now be taking the matter further to accuse us of the mess they have neglected is appalling - avoid like the plague unless you want to catch the plague from the apartment.

Lovely location.

Stained carpets, leaky shower door lounge furniture very tired. Despite this we enjoyed our stay.

All 6 of us had a perfect break at Buccaneer Cottage, we come to Weymouth every year & always book with Dreams cottages.

Found Buccaneer to be another faultless property. Excellent facilities & superbly comfortable beds & bedding. Ideal location on quieter side of harbour with beautiful views. Grateful for parking permit for one car. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, so sad to leave!

Had a lovely holiday at Buccaneer Cottage So picturesque !

I have stayed at the cottage many times , the Harbour views and location is great , however the local authorities need to clamp down on parking the down stairs bedroom windows give a direct view of the harbour but this year the only view had from this room was of transit vans continually parked in front of the window , there is a sign on the cottage wall outside telling No parking but the authorities just seem to let anyone park anywhere, will think again about coming back to the cottage, which is a shame

We had a lovely week in Weymouth.

The cottage is beautifully situated alongside the old harbour and just a short walk to the shops, restaurants and seafront. The property was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The parking voucher meant we were always able to park outside the property during our stay.

It was lovely and warm when we arrived on a very cold March evening. It was very nice that milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were provided. The facilities were adequate. We brought our own towels, tea towels and hair dryer, dishwasher tabs. If we stayed again, we would also bring some cleaning materials as there were none at all. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding good quality. It was also surprisingly quiet at night considering the bedrooms were on the ground floor and the property in such a central location. Our sleep was not disturbed once. Not even afternoon naps… As mentioned, it was lovely and warm on arrival but too hot for us to sleep. We turned the heating down at the boiler but then couldn’t turn it up again the next morning. However, when we called the office they were very efficient and effective in sorting it out. We’d like to say a big thank you to them for that. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a well behaved doggy. Our 1-year-old whippet Ellery loved his daily visit to the Nothe squirrels and crows which provided a fab opportunity for some prey drive desensitisation!! He also loved the seaweed!! We had a very nice holiday and everything at Buccaneer was perfect.

However the parking without a permit was a nightmare and for this reason we regret that we will not be making another booking. Harold .....

Good kitchen to make a breakfast and a Sunday Roast I have stayed in this cottage a number of times in recent years and am delighted with the improvements. Sykes and Dreams were very helpful during this stay so It’s all great

We found the cottage clean and tidy, please be aware we found the stairs are very steep.

The location is very pleasant and plenty of restaurants all around. Views of the harbour from the lounge are lovely, the owners have thought of everything you would need for a stay here.

very clean and comfortable ,lower bedroom basins need traps clean as waste water is slow to drain away ,problem with oven not heating up quickly ,main problem is No Parking permit you cannot expect guest to park a quarter of a mile away in Public car parks incurring charges ,

Lovely property especially so close to the harbour river.

My 3 year old grandson was memorised every day by the boats passing our window DEFO book again hopefully with some weatherproofing to the windows, unfortunately they let in an enormous amount of cold air !!!!!! But this would not stop up coming again

Fabulous!

We, as a family, have enjoyed a yearly visit to Buccaneer Cottage, starting in March 2016 for my youngest son’s 50th birthday and again this year for my eldest son’s 60th, and, as usual, found the accommodation excellent for these family get-togethers.

The location on the harbour-side provides excellent access to nearby Nothe Gardens, Weymouth beaches and town centre and numerous eating and drinking establishments as well as having a beautiful harbour on the doorstep All-in-all a very pleasant, comfortable place to choose for an enjoyable holiday. Dream Cottages even provided beautiful sunshine for the whole week we were here this year. Who could ask for more?

As mentioned to the cleaners, it would be good to provide spare rubbish bags as just one for a family of 5 was insufficient, we had to leave items on the floor and also put some in the public bins.

Also a sponge/scourer for washing up is needed. Everything else was great.

Having paid £30 for the week in the recommended near by car park to then find a parking permit which was not mentioned in the booking and advised to park in the near by car park was disappointing, an extra £30 i did not need to spend.

The cottage should be advertised stating a parking permit is available for 1 vehicle use.

Fab place to stay with everything you would require in the property.

Situated in the most fab place on the harbour with a wonderful view and lovely bars and eating places all around .

We took a short break in Weymouth and we were very happy with the cottage.

It is in a perfect location with easy access to everything you might need and great views. Parking was no problem at all, with the use of the parking permit we parked right out front for the whole holiday. The cottage itself is equipped with everything you might need, was clean and comfortable throughout. We had a slight problem with the keypad, but mainly due to our inexperience, Dream Cottage staff were excellent, let us in and showed us what we had done wrong so it worked perfectly when we left. We would highly recommend this cottage and are thinking of booking it again ourselves next year.

Had a lovely weekend break the cottage was lovely clean and beautifully decorated carpets looked new throughout.

With all the pubs and restaurants on our doorstep it was perfect for a weekend away. Thank you very much for the biscuits milk and tea/coffee on arrival. Will definitely stay again

Very disappointed with lack of basic cleaning materials not even 1dishwasher tablet to put in machine had to go out and buy some no mop to clean kitchen or bathroom floors hoover very hard to use as foot needs replacing otherwise location very good beds clean and comfortable I would book again with Sykes just not that cottage was probably spoiled in September 2020 with cottage we had then all I would like to say is owner of buccaneer needs to leave a few basic cleaning items for clients to be able to clean house I went out and bought our own

Lovely house in a great location but could do with an update - all a bit tatty, sofas and carpets quite dirty and a funny smell downstairs.

Mattresses have seen better days. Property wasn't very clean for saying we couldn't check in until 5pm, found some rubbish from previous occupants.

Location Is fantastic some things are a little dated parking could be troublesome but we was luckily enough to get a space right outside overall we had a lovely time.

The location of this property is great, but unfortunately the property itself doesn’t appear to have been maintained in any shape or form.

There is a ‘damp’ smell that was continuously coming from the lower ground double, the mattress in this room sank in the middle. The mattress in the double on the top floor was so hard and gave us back ache the whole holiday. In the main lounge area the carpets are in dire need of replacing as is the sofa and the single chair in there which had rips in it as did the cushions. Overall the property needed some TLC!!!

Perfect location.

Lovely cottage, massive shout out to the owner who very generously sorted a problem prior to our arrival. We looked at booking again for next year whilst we were there, just a massive pity for us that the price increase has meant we're unable to enjoy such a lovely place owned by such nice people.

We had a few bad things this year work vans coming in at 7am to units behind the holiday house mini diggers being put on trailers all hours of the night and the the odd night when drunks was having a tiff.

having said that we would book for 2022 but the price is to high when you start looking around i think £1200.00 to 1500.00 for this property is plenty for a week

We have stayed at Buccaneer cottage before this is a beautiful cottage located right on the harbour waterfront next to all the bars , restaurants, beaches, I would highly recommend this

Great location With easy walkable access to everything we needed.

The property could have been much cleaner throughout. There was lots of dust on the 3 floors and the when we lifted the table runner on the dining table this clearly had not been wiped/cleaned for months so was not very hygienic. The bathrooms on all floors also needed a good deep clean. House had all we needed and Sykes Cottages were helpful when the WiFi did not work. Sykes Cottages could have warned us about the building works taking place in the house next door and the workmen vehicles blocking access to the property and windows. This was not the fault of the men carrying out the works who were all polite to us but the noise of cement mixers, circular saws, skips being delivered, trucks delivering building materials etc was not the sound of the working harbour we had expected. All in all a great holiday let down by a few simple corrections.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Buccaneer Cottage, (2 couples).

The house was clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Even though we travel with everything including food and drinks, on our arrival it was nice to see a welcome pint of milk in the fridge and also a small box of biscuits. The property was well placed within the marina/harbour, lovely views and sunsets on an evening, even better views from the attic bedroom. We were very lucky to have good weather for the full week we were there. The harbour has an excellent fish and chip shop (Bennetts) which was only a 2 minute walk - absolutely delicious and plenty of them! There were ample pubs and inns serving food with plenty of outside seating areas (although we didn't try them) and Afternoon Cream Teas to be found everywhere! Asda was only a ten minute walk if you didn't want to take the car. An easy stroll in to the town centre with a good selection of shops, from the harbour front and across the bridge (5/10 mins at the most), and another 5 minutes to the beach. In the opposite direction was Nothe Fort and the lovely Nothe Gardens with lots of squirrels, carry on a little further round the coast and you come to Newtons Cove, looked lovely for swimming and with views across to Portland. We had some lovely dog walks around the area everyday. Also plenty of places to visit by car if you want to go further afield. The only negative issue was the renovation work going on at the house next door starting early morning, disturbing my parents who were in a downstairs bedroom. However, we were advised of this when booking so can't really complain, it didn't spoil the holiday and will be finished soon.

We've just got back form a wonderful week at the Buccaneer cottage, it was brilliant, great location, great weather, social distancing was well maintained we'll definitely be returning

The cottage was very clean and the location suits us we have few bad points this year the key lock is hit and miss so we never used it and the 2nd key was missing which made things hard when there is more than 2 of you the bed in front bed room needs replacing which we said last year also the TVs remote in the same room doesn't work properly again reported last year.

also you have builders starting work at 7.30 am starting generators up and someone working in a workshop till 9.00 pm vans are parked up against the front door you have a job to get in and out we did report this to dreams cottages but nothing was done. We have booked for 2021 if things are the same we will have to look for somewhere else for the coming years

As usual, this was another exceptionally brilliant holiday in a superb Buccaneer Cottage, in a superb location and in a superb holiday destination.

I have nothing but praise and many thanks to the owners and Dream Cottages for providing the ideal family holiday location.

Dishwasher not very effective

We are a family of 6 of grandparents, parents and grandchildren.

The cottage was perfect for all ages. The location could not have been better for us with the sandy beach in one direction and the fort, a playground and pebble beach in the other direction. Watching the boats come and go from our sitting room window was good entertainment. Plenty of eating places just a stone throw from the cottage was also a bonus.

This accommodation is in an ideal location with parking.

My only regret is not having a stairlift to the first floor where the lounge and kitchen are. Everyone else in my party was happy.

As a family we have stayed in Weymouth many times over the years, we have seen a children grow from toddlers to young adults our parents age but the one thread that has remained constant is our love of the seaside town of Weymouth and our holiday memories of staying in Buccaneer Cottage.

We had a really good holiday at Buccaneer Cottage, the location right on Weymouth Harbour was fabulous, with great views from the living room.

Everything we needed was close at hand and the cottage was very comfortable.

We found Buccaneer an excellent holiday let.

Will recommend to others the only thig we felt would improve the acomadation is a standard lamp in lounge. In the evening could not read with low enegy bulb.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, watching the boats go by, crabbing on the harbourside and having everything we needed from cream teas, the beach and shopping all at hand.

We hope to return and stay again soon. We even had a week of sunnydays which made enjoying our ice creams even better!

The view of the old harbour was excellent and the house is very comfortable with everything you need, including tea, coffee and milk all provided on arrival! Brilliant location for the Nothe Gardens, pubs around the harbour all serving food and a short walk to the beach. We would definitely like to stay at the Buccaneer Cottage again.

This is the 5th time we have used the facilities at Buccaneer Cottage and as in the past have been more than satisfied. Unusually there were two small negatives this year, the first was that there was no spare key and the second that it was a puzzle that the cutlery drawer could not be opened without first opening the oven door, as this has never been a problem on our past visits I can only assume that a new oven has been fitted although this is not obvious. However, this did not distract from the fact that this is an ideal accommodation for a family get together, the harbour side location could not be bettered and the proximity to the nearby eating establishments and pubs is good and the impressive nearby Nothe Gardens with its walks and views is superb, add on to that the Weymouth shopping centre and beach is only a short walk away and you have the ideal holiday location. Once again, thank you.

Outstanding position.

Party of 5 who had a fab Christmas 2018. Warm and cosy, with a welcome pack to start us off on a brilliant holiday. Lots to see and fantastic walks especially to chisell beach. Christmas day swim was a bonus to watch with a perfect view from the cottage. Would definately book this cottage again and highly recommend to anyone.

Would’ve appreciated some form of Christmas decoration so close to ‘The Event’.

The views from the house were better than we expected, and it was so nice to park the car and not worry about parking tickets for the duration of our stay with the permit provided. Walking to shops, beach, pubs etc was easy. The very funny panto at The Pavilion perfectly topped off our stay. Loved our time there and nobody had any grumbles. We will return.

Comfy beds and settees

A fantastic home well equiped , but I think a vacuum cleaner would have been nice as I did not like leaving bits on the carpets for someone else to clean up .

Ideal position right on the harbour, with great views and short walk to beach and town and Nothe Gardens. Great for crabbing right outside house. Property in good order with added luxury of having dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and bath room for each room. Lounge is on first floor allowing for a great view of the harbour. This holiday day was booked as a surprise celebration of my youngest son's 50th. birthday. I couldn't have made a better choice, the location was second to none, the accommodation was excellent with everything needed to add to the enjoyment of my son, his wife and 6 year old daughter, myself and my eldest son. I was also pleasantly surprised with the hospitality and help given by the Cottage's next door neighbour, who I understand is a friend of the owner. And to cap it all the bad weather we had been experiencing prior to setting out for Weymouth changed to glorious spring time sunshine for the whole of our stay. We stayed in Buccaneer Cottage on 18th November 2016 and had a lovely week. The cottage is in a prime location with stunning views over the harbour from most windows, where you can watch the trawlers and fishing boats landing their catch and the yachts and trip boats coming and going. we found the cottage clean and well equipped and welcoming. it was good to find a holiday home that allowed us to take our very well behaved dog. Thank you for a superb break in Weymouth. This was the second long weekend break we have taken in Buccaneer Cottage, the first being the same weekend last year and this one was every bit as good, or even better, than the first, in fact we enjoyed this break so much that I have since made a booking to spend Christmas at the Buccaneer Cottage this year. I cannot fault this cottage, location is superb, the accommodation likewise. The property is in a good location. It was very spacious with a cosy feel. in the lounge there was plenty of seating for 6 it was very clean with extremely comfortable beds and spacious wardrobes I will definately book this cottage again - stayed June 2017

After staying at Buccaneer Cottage, in March for the last two years, it was decided that it would be a good venue for Christmas and awe weren't wrong. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Christmas tree and decorations the owners had provided for our enjoyment and the cleanliness of the cottage. Our stay was made even better as my 8 year old granddaughter had persuaded her Mum and Dad to join her in braving the cold to take part in the Weymouth Lions charity swim across the harbour which they all successfully completed. The location of this cottage, right on the harbourside, couldn't be better and the accommodation is ideal for our families purpose. The cottage was clean, wecoming and well equipped. We left behind a tea strainer for anyone like us who makes coffee in the teapot in the absence of a cafetière. We stayed here last year and were bowled over all over again by the setting and view. Hoping to be back.

Our first visit to Buccaneer Cottage was a long weekend family break to celebrate my son's 50th. birthday in March, 2016, and we were so impressed with the cottage that this years visit was our fourth. We have not been disappointed, and would recommend this as an ideal venue for any family get together, especially if you want to include your pet dog. What is there to not enjoy when you are situated right on Weymouth's beautiful harbourside with stunning views from all windows and have numerous first class eating establishments all within easy walking distance.
