Owl's Rest

The only down fall is the parking outside property.

Hit and miss if you moved your car and property is on a hill.

Owls rest was perfectly positioned for our little break.

Taking my dog along the walk from the cottage to the old harbour was great. Especially when going a longer prettier route via the Nothe Forte. A tip for anyone having fish and chips from Bennett’s ….share a portion as they’re huge! Fish is beautiful. Lots of dog friendly pubs around the old harbour too. Everything you need is provided at the cottage. Beds not as comfortable as we would have liked, but still slept ok. When we had to call because of a light not working, they sent someone out straight away. Would definitely stay there again

As cottage allows dogs but the garden is only decking so not really suitable for dogs very unclean area.

Parking is a nightmare. Boiler thermostat didn't work so it stayed on all the time. Water was fine, Heating we had to turn all rads off as it was like a sauna. House close to the harbour area and town. (we walked so not to loose our parking space) Not really suitable for anyone with walking issues or a pram. Lots of steps and very steep. Lovely beach about 20min walk, good restaurants along the harbour area. Town's a typical seaside town a bit left behind but ok. We enjoyed our stay but won't be back with the dogs and baby as not really suitable for our needs.

Generally we were happy with the property.

For us the beds were on the low side, which made it difficult to get up, especially for my wife who has problems with her knees and back. We found the front door was difficult to open due to the size and shape of the knob/ handle. Definitely no good for anyone with joint problems. Despite this we enjoyed our stay!!

Lovely, comfortable holiday home.

Easy, clear instructions for key collection and no problem parking on the street. Property, towels and bedding are clean and well cared for. Kitchen is well stocked with crockery, utensils, pots, pans and cleaning essentials. Really nice to have an outside seating area. Short walk down to Weymouth town centre (took a bit longer coming back as it's uphill!). Had a lovely break, would definitely recommend.

A lovey comfortable home that was only a few minutes walk to the harbour.

So peaceful and relaxing when sitting in the garden and a great place to unwind.

We had a great time in this comfortable homely cottage.

We had an issue with the rubbish bin and the condition of the kitchen floor (I contacted Dream Cottages and they were very helpful - the floor looks dirty, but I believe the marks are ground in). The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. It's only a 10 minute walk into the town - parking would be an issue, as there were no spaces available the weekend we were there. As we'd stayed in this area previously, we were aware of this, so came by train. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Owls Rest!

It is really nice house with everything that you need. So close to walk into the centre of Weymouth, only a 10 min walk. I would highly recommend!

Overall we had a lovely stay.

We found the house to be a good size for the three of us, (2 adults, 1 toddler) It was light and airy. Excellent location, only 10 min walk into town. Worth bearing in mind it's up a massive hill. We got a good work out each day! Only negatives, we found the parking to be a bit hit or miss, especially on the weekend. We were grateful for the child facilities but found the travel cot mattress to be way too small for the cot itself. We had to pad it out with towels and our baby didn't sleep very well. If wed have known we would have brought our own. Would also have loved the main space to be a bit more child proof. Socket covers would have been amazing, maybe a latch on the fire guard to stop it from being pulled down. Thanks for a good stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Owl’s Rest very much.

We parked our car on the day of arrival and didn’t use it again until we were driving home. We walked everywhere all week as it was lovely sunny weather and found the Rodwell trail to Portland Harbour which was great. We would just like to raise that perhaps you could leave details of how to get to the town centre/beach from Owl’s Rest in your information folder. It was only a 10 minute walk and wasn’t an issue for us as we had visited Weymouth on a number of occasions but if your guests are new to the area they may need guidance through the residential area. The location of Owl’s Rest was perfect and I’m sure we will be back! Thank you.
