  • "We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful barn which was immaculately clean with excellent quality bedding, towels ect."

The owner is so kind and helpful leaving us homemade tiffin and fresh eggs, milk and coffee. The barn if positioned perfectly for visiting many local beaches, National Trust properties etc, there is certainly plenty of places to visit locally. We highly recommend this holiday home as we had a wonderful week x

  • "We enjoyed our stay and our hosts were very friendly and helpful."

The fresh eggs and cake on arrival were very welcoming. The barn was beautiful finished to a very high standard and was very spacious. The log burner warmed the area up very quickly and provided a very cosy atmosphere. There was lots of helpful information available regarding places to visit and restaurants etc to dine in in the area. Only a few minor points we would mention would be ,there was some traffic noise ( which had been stated in the write up about the property) which could effect some people sleep .For shorter people the bed is a little high, plus it might be worth marking the edges of the stairs as the steps too easily blend into each other and maybe be difficult for some to negotiate. Overall we would recommend the Stone Barn.

  • "The property was immaculate, extremely well looked after, and absolutely delightful."

The owner has thought of just about everything to make your stay very comfortable. Whilst it is close to a major road, we found it did not interfere with the rest and relaxation of the property. We personally found the lack of internet and wifi very restful and enjoyed that aspect, going off-grid for 5 days:-) And this is well published within the listing so should not come as a surprise to anyone booking.

  • "We have been staying in holiday cottages for about 40 years now and I can say with confidence that this barn is the best we have ever stayed in."

The cottage was immaculate in every detail from the decor to the fittings it was pristine. I would highly recommend this barn for two people and am sure they would really enjoy it.

  • "Lovely property."

Clean, modern, comfortable. Shower room and separate bathroom upstairs, a nice feature. We also appreciated Carol leaving some welcome gifts for us on arrival.

  • "The Stone Barn is a beautiful cottage."

Very tastefully converted and full of character. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were disappointed that there was no Wifi or phone signal which made it very difficult to keep in touch with family and plan excursions and meals etc.

    Very well appointed throughout

  • "As it was our second stay at the stone barn we were already aware of places to visit in and around Bridport so in that sense our stay was this time more enjoyable."

The Barn is very beautifully laid out - we particularly liked the wooden surrounds to give us some privacy, now that The Dairy next door has opened . We spoke on a couple of occasions to Carol who is a delight…

About the location

BRIDPORT

Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.

The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.
