Very comfortable flat, convenient for seafront and shops.

Would definitely book again. However.. The shower wall bracket fell off the wall when my husband tried to adjust the head height. So maybe needs some end of season maintenance.

We had a brilliant week in Swanage and would definitely recommend this flat.

It was a lovely, good-sized space and in a fantastic location — on a quiet road, but just a short walk from both Swanage beach and the town centre. Having a dedicated parking space was a real bonus too. A great base for a holiday in Swanage, and we would happily stay again.

We loved the Mayflower when we stayed last year so booked again for this year and loved it again

The only negative comment I have is that the flat does quite warm especially with the hot weather we have experienced as of late could have done with a fan .

I have been coming to Swanage for the last 36 years and stayed in many different properties over the years and I have to say that this is an exceptional one thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The flat, everything was great.

Bed was so comfortable, slept very well. The sitting room was large and lovely furniture. Nice chairs, good table and chairs. Fantastic Austrian blinds at the large window. Beautiful new carpets, all spotless. Lovely china in the kitchen, good cutlery. The dishwasher, was a great surprise. Also the fridge freezer was brand new, and everything was spotless. Bathrooms again, spotlessly clean, and showers great too. We shall be back again very soon, hoping before next year. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Regards Brenda.

the kitchen door is self closing so is hard to exit with both hands full.

Another lovely stay in Mayflower!

It had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean and tidy. It was good to have parking, and it’s only a short walk to the beach and the shops. This was our third stay here and we hope to return again.

We had a great stay at Mayflower.

The location is perfect for the beach and the town. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds comfortable. Nothing to fault apart from lack of Christmas decorations as we were there for Christmas

This place is our goto pre xmas break, we love it.

Its excellent to unwind, for us after the stressful year we have just had. Its our 4th stay and we hope will not be our last. To be close to the sea and the town both easy walking, lovely cafes and quirky shops. Swanage is a really lovely gentle seaside town. From the xmas market on a Saturday in December to the regular Friday market all year there is plenty to see and do. And if you want a big town then Poole and Bournemouth are within easy reach both by car and bus. Cannot finish without a word for the owner who is lovely. Thanks Helen we love it.

Mayflower is in great position for centre if swanage and the beach.

No hills to climb for folk with less mobility. The flat is well equipped and clean. Only criticism would be that the sheets and bedding are rather creased (but clean). Nice thick towels though. Would definitely stay again. Terry is easy to contact and very helpful.

Lovely property, clean, well placed and cosy with lots of thoughtful additions (games, books, toys etc.

). Very handy for the beach and town, we really enjoyed our stay.

location, facilities clanliness all excellent Totally agree with the 5 star rating however there are DVDs available to watch but we were unable to connect the DVD player to the TV as we were unable to locate a scart lead input/socket on the TV.

I guess this would also apply to the games consul that is there. I am wondering if a new TV has been purchased that doesnt have a scart lead connection ? Excellent tv with plenty of channels If there is a way to view DVDs then some instructions would be helpful !

Very comfortable apartment in convenient location.

Great to have private parking and on street parking outside property. Comfy beds and two bathrooms made it ideal for four adults. Close to beach, shops and restaurants.

Very convenient for the beach.

The flat was generally comfortable with everything you're likely to need. However there was an item of clothing left in the washing machine, presumably from previous visitors and there was also a pair of underpants under the duvet of one of the single beds, so I can only assume that the bed linen hadn't been changed on that bed, not good!

Having stayed at Mayflower previously we were glad to see that the beds in the small bedroom had been replaced and the sofas in the lounge.

Also enjoyed the new smart TV. We were staying for a fortnight so would have appreciated two weeks worth of dishwasher tablets.

We liked the new sofas, a big improvement.

A lovely week spent in Swanage.

The accommodation was clean and perfectly placed to stroll into town to enjoy all that’s on offer.

We were very happy with the flat in Rabling road.

The location was excellent and the flat was clean, spacious for my mum and me and very well equipped. We have stayed in swanage for many years and this is the nicest flat we have stayed in. We have booked again for next year.

The television is a nightmare.

Unusable by my wife because she is used to simple Freeview, and I could find no way to alter the mumbled sound to a profile her poor deaf ears could actually hear.

Mayflower apartment is a lovely place to stay, homely, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Close to swanage beach and town centre. Also nice restaurants to suit all tastes. Highly reccomended.

This was our second time here, and we hope to come back again.

The flat is nicely presented and the beach and town shops are a short walk away. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There’s a lot of games and toys if you have children. It’s so good to have parking too.

Mayflower Flat 1 is a lovely holiday accommodation.

It is a decent sized 2 bed flat, had everything we needed, was very comfortable, and warm. It has a private parking space, plus we could also use the one next to it, and it's within 5 minutes walk into Swanage centre. A proper home from home.

Great position for the town and beach and have stayed here 2 yrs ago .

The apartment hasn't changed much but needs a refresh. Dining chairs uncomfortable. Sofas to soft and dated. Bedroom furniture now old single bed broke because of previous poor repair and broke again two days later due to bad repair again. We were told new beds are due to replace these. Also we stayed for two weeks and usually the bed linen and towels are changed weekly at other places we have stayed in Swanage but not at this flat . Again great position and parking for beach but needs a refresh won't stop here again though .

Ideal placement in Swanage in a quiet residential street.

Property had all we needed for our stay apart from a bedside/reading lamp in the twin room.

The property is well located for Swanage, and good parking.

The beds were very comfy. Just two faults. 1. The key safe could be in a better place. As elderly people would struggle to get to the safe. 2. The place was not particularly clean when we arrived. We found a used tissue in one of the bedroom draws. It hadn't been vacuumed properly. There was no bedside lamp in the small bedroom. Having said all that we would come again.

This property was excellent.

Well located in Swanage and only a 5 minute walk to the centre. The accomodation was great and plenty of room for 4 adults. Local pubs and restaurants provided good food.

Found the door closers on both bathroom doors to strong had to fight to keep the door open to get out, not very good for elderly or frail.

A shame there were no instruction for A) Washing machine although we managed without B) dishwasher which resulted in doing the same wash twice and C) the very nice large new TV which we really did not benefit from as we are not into the digital world

Excellent quiet location handy for town and travelling elsewhere in area

On entering the property there was a smell of dampness.

There was however NO signs of mould. We used tge dehumidifier constantly and it soon disappeared within a couple of days. (By the way the older dehumidifier in the lounge did not extract a single drop of water in 12 hours. The new one from the hall was brilliant) Cutlery was generally grubby but a cycle in the dishwasher sorted that. The fabric sofas are soft and smell slightly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning

The flat was ideal close to the town and beach.

We did find bits of cereal on the carpet in the sitting room and was surprised there was no hand wash in the bathroom. Overall the flat was clean and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped .There are only five steps to the property which are manageable as I have knee problems.Overall I would recommend it. I would certainly book again .

My first impressions of Mayflower were not great.

Firstly being elderly we struggled to open the key safe as it was almost on the floor, we had to kneel down (not easy at our age) good job it wasn't wet when we arrived. Quilt covers and pillow cases hadn't been ironed, so looked scruffy which made us check to ensure they were clean, which they were. After that our holiday was perfect. The flat was spacious, clean and had everything you could wish for. It is so convenient to sea and town and was able to get around easily without driving which was great. Anyone who may struggle with steps should note there are 5 steps down to flat. Also there is a short climb up from beach which could prove an issue if like us you have breathing difficulties. Having said that we loved our stay there and would return.

A perfect spot for 2 adults and a toddler.

A spacious 2 bed property with parking right outside, all the amenities needed including cot and high chair, and great location in centre of Swanage and near the beach. We loved our stay!

This is a very clean and comfortable flat.

The location is really good for both the town and the beach. We like cooking and the kitchen is well equipped. Swanage has some lovely cafes, a very good fishmonger and butcher. We really enjoyed our stay.

We were very comfortable and warm even though the temperature outside was minus 5.

It was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The flat is a short easy walk to the seaside and into town, (useful if you have children!) and there are lovely walks you can do from the doorstep. We had no trouble fitting our Skoda Octavia onto the car parking space. We only had one set of keys but we managed because there is a key safe. We would be happy to stay here again.

Yes, to providing feedback and feel also this feedback needs to be published as consumer laws are been broken from this holiday rental.

It is not as described and owner has lacked in providing reasonable care and skill. Do not stay here. When we arrived we noticed the place was very damp and when looked up at ceiling of smaller bedroom (where my asthmatic son was meant to sleep) it had clear, visible Mould spores all over the ceiling, and on further inspection evidence of Mould and cover ups all over the flat, particularly the bedrooms and the living room, clear visible Mould and condensation/ damp on the windows and corners of the rooms, to the point the a salt dehumidifier pot was hidden behind the sofa. Photograph evidence was taken, sent to Sykes and owner, owner not interested, slow to respond and when did said nothing wrong with flat and was negligent about the condition of the place, which is well know to the owner from the cover ups and salt pots on windows. It is well known Mould is hazardous to health, especially those with respiratory conditions and can make you feel unwell and has health implications, the property was not advertised as having Mould, being damp and dusty, and you do not expect to pay to go on holiday and stay in a place like this, let along the poor negligent response of the owner. I strongly do not recommend staying in the place, mayflower, swanage and I am concerned that the owner is able to rent it out in this condition to others, if it wasn’t a holiday rental the councils environmental health would want to conduct an assessment on the property. I really hope Sykes cottages looks into this further from this feedback and my verbal feedback and all the messages on the portal. Needless to say it ruined our much needed holiday and not what we were Sold/signed into. Very disappointed.

The flat was brilliant, very comfortable and spacious.

The kitchen was perfectly kitted out, although the oven door needs fixing so that it doesn’t close on you. The games console and board games were a great addition. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The only niggle was that the bedroom furniture was very rickety. A great week, thank you

All the facilities you could ask for. Nit picking, most apartments leave milk and a bottle of wine on arrival. It would of been good to have a smart TV to watch Netflix and Prime, but not the end of the world. Would certainly return

Short walk to the beach and was really clean and comfortable. Good value, though looking at the prices for next year we will find somewhere cheaper as its jumped up from £850 we paid this week to £1300 range! For one week in August... These auto demand pricing systems are driving up the prices and im just not paying that for a week. If some fools wwant to pay that then good luck to ya

The only hanging space in the second bedroom was hooks on the walls, no wardrobe.

I don’t think this was mentioned in the description. It took a long time to find the key safe, it was down at ground level at the front of the parking space......not very good for people with *bending down difficulties *. Otherwise all was good
