The property

Tavern Cottage is situated in the heart of Corfe Castle village in Dorset and is believed to inspire Kirrin Castle in Enid Blyton’s popular books.

The property sits only a couple of minutes from the famous castle ruins. The property is a lovely cottage for families or couples with a garden and views to the Corfe castle, where you can take some pictures.

The property is well-equipped and has a home-away-from-home feeling to it. The property is located on the main Wareham to Swanage road, but it is really quiet because of the secondary double-glazing windows. The village of Corfe Castle offers special gift and craft shops, several up-market eating houses and coffee shops with cream teas.

Much of the area is in the ownership of the Natural Trust and is designated as an area of outstanding beauty. Tavern Way is in a perfect position to explore many of Dorset's popular locations of Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, and Old Harry's Rock at Studland.

The area of Purbeck has a special beauty with sweeping headlands, steeply ridged hills, heathland areas and coastline.

Studland which is close by has a famous sandy beach which is approached via unspoilt scenery.

You may take your car by the Studland chain ferry to Poole which is a real thrill for children.

Venture and explore villages of Worth Matravers, Kingston, Langdon Matravers.

A bit further you will find the South West Coast path with amazing Chapman’s Pool, Kimmeridge bay, Dancing ledge, St Aldhelm’s chapel.

Tavern Way is a beautiful getaway perfect for those wishing to holiday surrounded by beautiful countryside.

About the location

Corfe Castle

Cove Castle is a firm favourite with locals, sitting along side the Rodwell trail area, Cove Castle Beach is usually uncrowded, and offers safe bathing from it’s gently sloping shoreline. There are two main beach areas, Cove Castle, awaiting new steps to the beach in early 2019, and Sandsfoot beach, both with soft golden sand and the vibe of the best kept secret. Sandsfoot castle is just two minutes’ walk from the beach where you will find castle ruins, pretty award-winning gardens and a small café, offering snacks, drinks and ice-creams. Accessed off Old Castle Road in Weymouth, this area is a real treat for those who want to be away from the buzz and bright lights of the traditional Weymouth Seafront, and yet close enough to venture there when they choose. When you are on the beach you could be forgiven for thinking you are miles from town, and yet you are only a 15-20 minute walk from the old Harbour and access to Weymouth town centre. If you want to know where the locals would recommend you spend your beach days, then Cove Castle and Sandsfoot beaches are it.
