  • "We had a good holiday; however, I think it should be made clear to future holidaymakers that the garden is not pet friendly."

There is no fencing at the back or front, so dogs cannot roam free. Also, the instructions for the garage need amending. The black garage door has gone, revealing an open double garage; it took a while to realise this was the garage we should use. This bungalow could be difficult for elderly or disabled people. It is on a hill with several steep steps. Our party consisted of a 91-and an 80-year-old who both found the steps difficult to negotiate. Dream Cottages manage the bungalow, so don’t expect a welcome pack. You will get a very basic starter pack. Two dishwasher tablets, salt & pepper, and four tea bags. One toilet roll in each toilet and a small soap tablet for each basin. Compared to some owner-run properties, it was a sterile experience. Don’t get me wrong this bungalow is in a fantastic location with views to die for. However, if we had required help from Dream cottages during our stay I think it might have been a different story. I phoned 48 hours before setting off. My first call was in the evening and the office was closed. I rang the following morning and spoke to an apathetic assistant. She was unable to answer my queries. (She did email the answers later, however, it felt very impersonal). Luckily we had no serious problems and managed to sort out any issues. A small tool kit would have been useful when the on-suit shower didn't work, it's incredible what you can do with a nail file!

  • "The location of the property was perfect, with wonderful views, and very near the facilities of West Bay, whilst still being very quiet."

The property was clean and mainly equipped well. The main downside was that the fridge was very small. It was totally inadequate for a family of 6. if it were not for that, we would certainly consider rebooking.

  • "There was no obvious info."

to say wheelchair access was not available. We were all senior citizens and found the access steps awkward. The rear was access to parking and a handrail would be useful. The front less so as we used it only for the initial access. The showers would benefit users by having fixed items to hold soap, shampoo etc. Also internal data referred to dustbins at rear but only a blue one was available so no recycling, apparent as some properties appeared to have.

Very clean but corners of bath/shower sealant need replacing. Fridge facilities require urgent attention. Existing fridge is inadiquate for size of property. Would stay here again (hopefully with larger fridge)

Really enjoyed our stay - will definitely book again. Only concern was damp in the en-suite - possibly needs a better extractor fitted. Lack of chest of drawers and mirror in the en-suite bedroom was a minor issue along with poor Wifi and no recycling.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Seacliff."

Absolutely stunning location. The bungalow is very well equipped and has everything you need. I agree with other comments that there is a damp smell in the bedrooms but other than that it’s perfect. We would love to stay again next year but sadly the £1000 price increase for the same dates has priced it out of our range

  • "Loved the position of Seacliff, very convenient just to walk down the hill into West Bay."

The sea views were wonderful and it was just a few steps to get onto the South West Path. The lounge and dining room were very spacious and light, the kitchen was well equipped. The bed in the front bedroom had 2 distinct hollows where people had slept, it made an otherwise comfortable bed a bit uncomfortable. This could easily be solved by frequently turning the mattress. The twin bedded room smelt of damp.

The en-suite bathroom also could benefit from a shelf and maybe a door hook as hanging wet towels was a slight issue.

  • "Freezer compartment of fridge completely iced up."

Sewer blocked and over flowing. The same as reported last year, but much worse. Dishwasher dirty and filters clogged with food debris. Toilet brushes filthy and went straight into the bin. Mould starting in en-suite bathroom shower cubicle. No welcome pack which we have received in other accommodation this year. This is our 3rd visit. Each year the standard goes down but the price goes up.

Could have been cleaner. Lots of cobwebs, glasses and cutelry were grubby and dirty windows(really obvious bird poo on the main front and side window can’t understand why someone wouldn’t clean it.) Also with covid would have thought they’d have done and extra deep clean as it was the first week after reopening. Disappointing. Also limited ambience. No real homely touches

  • "The bungalow was clean, with very comfy fresh beds all made up, nice towels and heating on."

There was plenty of hot water, everything you need to cook if you wanted. Wifi was ok and TV fine too. Shower was lovely and powerful Little freezer was great and nice to do some washing, so none when we got home. The views are amazing and we had a lovely quiet relaxing week with our dog. I can imagine it’s a lot busier in the summer, as it was off season most things were closed. Essential food places were open and Bridport has more choice too. We were very lucky with lots of sun and sitting by the harbour with chips or a cuppa was very relaxing. Watching the boats, people, birds and helicopters. Saw a few places where Broadchurch was filmed. The only suggestion is a blind in the bathroom. House in front had builders on the roof so had to time the showers. Minor inconvenience Can’t wait to return

  • "Excellent holiday - superb location Only slight irritation was work in progress both at the front and rear of the property - didn't bother us too much as we were out most of the day but if a family or elderly couple wanted to spent more time relaxing on the patio it would have spoiled the ambiance - perhaps DC could canvas the immediate neighbours to find out if they are planning any building work so that prospective clients could be warned in advance and a small reduction in rental price offered to compensate?"

  • "The cottage location was fabulous, amazing views across to the sea and a short walk down the cliff path to West Bay."

This was great for getting the morning paper and freshly cooked pastries for breakfast! However there were a few things that let the cottage down. The dishwasher is not full size and it was sometimes a struggle to get everything from the day in there, I think the description should mention it’s size. Likewise the fridge is small, although the addition of the small freezer in the cupboard did help. The description failed to mention that the TV has an integrated DVD player, I think future customers (particularly at this time of year) would appreciate knowing this. The duvets were not warm enough for this time of year and there were insufficient blankets/throws. The cottage smelt damp and there was evidence of damp.

  • "We had a lovely week at Seacliff despite the weather."

The place is in a fantastic location and had everything we needed for our stay however the building does need some TLC. There was mould in the wardrobe in the front bedroom and in the bathroom and when we arrived the whole place felt cold and damp. The interior could do with a bit of touching up and a deep clean (including under sofas and window frames). This didn't affect our enjoyment of the holiday though and the only other recommendation I would make is to have a secure area for letting dogs off the lead in the garden.

  • "I agree with everything Mrs Jarvis said, also the fridge wasn't clean the shelves were sticky, the microwave was dirty as was the oven."

There was no mat in the shower room in the en-suite so we had to use a hand towel so as not to slip on the tiles. the two couches in the lounge are so uncomfortable you slip off them. For what we paid for this cottage it was a disgrace, we didn't expect to clean the place when we arrived, I don't think we would ever book this cottage again.

  • "We were two couples at Seacliff for 2 weeks (Jarvis and Hardie)."

On arrival we found the kitchen surface next to the sink absolutely swimming in water, had to find a cloth to try and dry this. The work surfaces were dirty and had to be cleaned as was the dinning room table. The cooker hob had not been cleaned in weeks. One of the mugs was missing. Because of the state of the crockery and cutlery we used the dishwasher to get them cleaned only to find that the dishwasher previously used still had the dishwasher capsule inside. The dishwasher was very temperamental, worked when it wanted to. The little larder freezer had not been cleaned in weeks still stuff in it. The plug on the iron was missing and all the wires showing, this was replaced by Dream Cottages. The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied. The door was off in the shower room bedroom and the wardrobe door hanging off. Bulb needed replacing in shower room. The twin bedroom floor and all skirting boards were dusty and the floors in all rooms had to be cleaned. Damp on wall in wardrobe in twin room. For the amount of money we spent on this accommodation we found it to be very unacceptable. After a long journey we did not expect to have to come and clean this property. We contacted Dream Cottages on the Saturday evening and the lady was very helpful and promised a carpenter the following day to rehang the doors. She was told of a number of things we were not satisfied with and said she would report this to the cleaning manager. To be honest for what we were paying the bungalow should have been in a much better condition than we found it. I think it is time that a painter/decorator was employed to sort things out. The guttering around the bungalow in most places was full of seagulls nesting materials and moss so that when it rained the water just overflowed. We were very, very disappointed and I would have thought that someone from Dream Cottages would have come to see us (and not when we were out as we would have waited to see them).

Lovely cottage. A few bits of feedback. There should be a stool or chair in the bathroom. There should be a chest of drawers in the twin room. There should be hooks on the back of the doors of the bedrooms.

  • "This is our third visit in 12 months."

It's a shame that some people do not look after Seacliff as they should. Swing bin broken, no washing up bowl - left outside for the cleaners to use, only 3 garden seats to use and garden brolly missing. Also ( I did smile to myself on this) on arrival my husband tried to get the tv to work (football) I could hear him moaning about it whilst I was unpacking, finally he found the fault, the people who used Seacliff the week before us had changed the batteries around on the tv remote, stupid but there you go it takes all sorts. Although the work was going on in the harbour you could only hear the noise when you went outside so it really did not bother us and we had a wonderful time. Lovely bungalow, wonderful views, weather very good - what more could you ask for - well a decent fridge and freezer would be the icing on the cake the ones there are truly awful.

  • "The property itself was a nice property, unfortunately it wasn't as clean as I would of expected it to be."

There was dust and hairs/bits along the edges of the floor. The kitchen was clean, the main bathroom could of done with a lick of paint along the window sills and the windows could of been cleaner. My mother in law, who's 70th birthday was the reason for our holiday, ended up in the front bedroom with a bed that the mattress needed replacing sooner rather than later. She said there were parts of it that went down and found it rather uncomfortable. The other bedrooms were fine, the children had a lovely time as did we all. It was a base for our holiday but it could of been a little more looked after like your own home. Also we used the back entrance all week, due to a lovely seagull nesting above the front door.

  • "There was a seagull nest on the roof just above the front door."

As we had dogs this meant it was difficult to use the front patio as it caused the birds distress. The birds were also very noisy on the roof at night. We were told it was not possible to move a nesting bird, which we understand. But the bird should have been moved on while nest building and not allowed to complete the nest. The local beach was mainly closed for coastal protection works. We were only told of this long after we booked . The works went on from early morning to late in the evening and were noisy. This certainly lessoned the enjoyment of our holiday. There was no washing up liquid or tea towels provided. This should be made clear in the cottage info. When only 2 people are staying it is not necessary to use the dishwasher.
