  • "The directions to find the cottage were excellent as we arrived after sunset!"

The cottage was beautiful and the welcome was very friendly. The kitchen was the main focal point of the stay, it was very clean and well equipped. The rest of the cottage was comfortable and the bedrooms were cosy. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will be looking forward to revisting Forge Cottage, West Lulworth and it's beautiful bay.

We only used the master bedroom as there were only the two of us and found the bed to be really comfortable, the best we've had in a rental, so great sleeps were had. Great location. Will hopefully book again in 2024. Thank you. Julie

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed with the goodies left (thank you!), all the rooms are of a good size and extremely well kept and the farmhouse style kitchen was truly lovely, we felt totally spoilt. Great location to the cove which was just a short 5 minute walk away and in the opposite direction was a lovely pub, The Castle Inn. Thank you very much indeed.

  • "The cottage i very nice and much bigger than expected also well equiped and warm and cosy."

Yes i would go to this property again. I have 2 points to mention. 1. The garden furniture REALLY needs to be replaced on every level. It is so old and covered in algae. A light movable set that could be put up onto the lawn where the sun is would be an idea. 2. I think that the fact that this cottage is linked to the neighbouring property should be made much clearer in the details as there is a lot of noise transference. You can literally hear people talking and taking a bath and running a tap when sat in the lounge or you are in the kitchen and the people next to us seemed like a very quiet couple. Goodness knows what it would be like if either property had a 'lively' group in. Thank you

Loved the place very clean and comfy the only problem was the radiator in the living room cold which made it really cold so had to use fire and spent a lot of money on logs

Thank you for the feedback, we are sorry that the problem with the radiator impacted on your stay at the cottage, we did send in a plumber as soon as we were made aware and I understand it was fixed quite quickly. If you had raised the issue with needing more logs we could have provided them from the log store in the garden. Property Owner

Would have been lovely to have some loungers or cushioned chairs in the garden as the garden chairs were old, wooden and worn. The children could not sit on them safely as they tended to tip forward but the cottage and surrounding area were perfect.

Overall the comfort levels were well above our expectation levels with a really well equiped kitchen and the beds were a joy to sleep in.The only down side was the hot water or rather the lack of it;the hot taps produced a thin stream of hot water which made having a bath impossible.Improvement could be made in the shower area as well, they were rather feeble. Cobwebs in clothing cupboards, oven hob dirty, kettle full of scale, flies in cottage constantly, bath/sink/shower taps not cleaned, air vent in downstairs bathroom hanging off the window, crumbs underneath settee cushions, toaster full of breadcrumbs. Not a good standard at all, really spoilt our holiday

We are very disappointed that the cottage was not up to the clean standard we usually provide. We have discussed the feedback with our housekeeping team. I only wish you had provided this feedback at the start of your stay as we could have sent cleaners in immediately. • "This cottage has a garden but it is not private and was used regularly by the children staying in Little Forge Cottage, this was not helpful for us or for our dog."

We specifically needed a garden for our dog and he was regularly disturbed and upset by the children. We had no private outdoor space which was really disappointing in exceedingly hot weather. The bedrooms were rather hot in very hot weather, that said we could not fathom why there were 10 tog duvets on the beds in July. I would not recommend this cottage to dog owners at all and have written separately to express this. It was completely unsuitable.

Thankyou for your recent feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had issues regarding the garden whilst you were staying and that you feel Forge Cottage is unsuitable for a dog. The guests staying in adjoining property are informed they do not have access to the garden. We have updated the notes on both properties to make it clear for any guests booking in the future. If you would have been able to inform us whilst you were staying at the property we could have contacted the other guests to discuss and resolve the situation. We have passed your feedback onto the Owners regarding the duvets. We are sorry you would not look to stay at this property again. Property Owner

It was superbly equipped- fantastic kitchen with excellent glassware, crockery, cookware and comfortable seating. Lovely sitting room with stove and wood supplied. Warm & snug. Good showers & endless hot water. Comfortable bedrooms with good beds, pillows and linen. The location was ideal. Peaceful and beautifully tended garden. Our only criticism is to the windows that could not be opened, and in particular the ventilation (or lack of) in the bathrooms. Still giving 5 stars though as we had such an amazing stay and loved our time there so much. Would just recommend that the ventaxia fan is fixed in the bathroom downstairs, & the window in the upstairs bathroom is sorted out so it can be opened.

Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle.
